An Awesome Cruise on Our Favorite Ship

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Spirit

On this cruise it was just me (57) and my husband (60) on cruise #17, #9 on NCL and we are Platinum. We originally booked OV and bid $105 on a balcony upgrade which came through 30 days before sailing at just above minimum bid. I was pretty confident I’d get it because the ship had so many empty cabins, and prices kept falling so much I could almost upgrade to a balcony for less than the bids! ...

The price for the Alaskan trip was amazing, so we booked it! The weather wasn't too bad and sailing was great, very smooth. What saw was amazing, I will cruise again to Alaska, looking at late July or early August for my next one. Also wanted to try a new cruise line. The Jewel is an amazing ship the entire staff was so great, very helpful, from the minute you arrive to board the ship, to ...

Quality of food is not what it used to be

The food is what we previously enjoyed the most, this time it was what we enjoyed the least. The specialty restaurants Cagney’s and Le Bistro had only a few tasty dishes but overall they weren’t anything to write home about either. The coffee everywhere on the ship was like twice recycled dish water. Guessing this is a push to buy the premium drink package. Most of the staff on the ship were ...

Overrated Luxury

We are regular cruisers and for our cruise to Alaska we felt we would benefit more from the small ship experience. Our travel agent recommended Regent as the most luxurious cruise line. Maybe we just expected to much. The ship itself was immaculate and all the staff were very courteous. However, we found the standard of the food to be dissapointing, the main difference in mainline cruises and ...

Poor awareness of own documentation regarding COVID 19

First of all I have to say, that there is nothing wrong with the cruise itself. The ship is nice, the staff is nice, the food was very good and the landscape of Alaska is definitely worth the whole trip. But in my opinion there is a big „BUT“ when it comes to Norwegian and I would rather not choose to sail with them in the future: They sent us dozens of E-Mails in advance of the cruise about ...

After doing a short 5 day Alaska Trip about 5 years ago we really wanted to see more. This time we flew up to Anchorage and did the train to Seward. Probably the highlight for us was the Train thru Denali . We checked in for our 4 hour train trip and had our room keys in hand. Walking onto the ship was very calming. No Sail away party or cheezy pics that you had to take to get onboard. ...

Originally, we were booked on a Holland America Line (HAL) Alaska cruise with a Denali land extension. We have sailed HAL twice and enjoyed them. We have sailed Oceania many times also. But, when I spotted a Travelzoo deal for the same itinerary on Silversea Silver Shadow, we rebooked. Basically paid the same price as HAL but had the benefit of Silversea figuring out the air, transfers, all ...

This cruise was originally planned for August 2020 and of course COVID caused the trip to be pushed out to 2022. After months of worrying about air transportation everything worked out fine. We arrived in Seward a few days prior to boarding, and everything went well. We had not been on any ship since 2019 so we were all excited to do this trip. This was our first time in a Celebrity Suite, and ...

Disappointed

We decided on this cruise because we had a cruise next credit that we needed to use and it had been many years since we had visited Alaska. We were excited about the cruise and also wanted to see Denali. We booked the Denali land tour as well as the 7 night cruise. Included in the cruise we a number of extras including an airfare special. We have cruised with NCL and Oceania numerous times. When ...

Disappointing Cruise

We just returned from our first cruise on a regent ship to Alaska. We sailed on June 3rd out of Seward and disembarked in Vancouver. Prior to sailing on Regent, we have been on many other lines; Viking Ocean, Oceania, Paul Gauguin, Princess, RCC, Holland America and Celebrity. We have been on Alaska cruises before, but this time I convinced my DH to try a “luxury line.” I am using the ...
