Alaska Gone South

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

This was our re-entry to cruising post-Covid, and we wanted to trying something easy and low risk, i.e. only seven nights. We have been to Alaska before, we have sailed Regent before, and we have sailed on Explorer before. We had hoped it would be as good as before, but I was disappointed by the experience. We don't know if this current experience fell short of expectations because Regent has ...

Stunning deterioration in quality

Regents’ overwhelming message, its Corporate Mission Statement is, I believe, is “ Boy are you lucky we let you sail with US. Really lucky, and don’t you ever forget it.” We started sailing Regent in 2010 and have sailed six times, 70 nights. We have sailed four times on the Mariner, once on the Voyager, and once on the Explorer. Our most recent sailing was Alaska in August, 2017 on the ...

Overrated and Costly

As a first time Regent traveler, we were excited to be on what was taunted as a Six Star cruise line with exceptional quality and service. What we received was a maximum Two Star cruise with a big price tag. The embarkation went very smoothly and we started our cruise full of excitement. The first couple of days went well except for the dining staff. The first morning we had breakfast I ...

Maintenance problems ruin Regent experience.

Good-all inclusive. The pre-Danali land trip hotel was the Matrriott in Anchorage. A great property with a fine breakfast buffet. The number and variety of shore excursions included are very good. The only excursions for which there were charges were excursions with helicopter or plane flights involved. Bad-due to maintenance problem, one of 4 ports of call (and excursion) and inside ...

We were a group of eight and decided to treat ourselves to an upscale vacation and tour Alaska by cruise ship. Although it was expensive, Regent came recommended by a friend in the travel industry, and the idea of an all-inclusive land and sea adventure in Alaska was appealing. Regent offered a wide variety of shore excursions, beautifully appointed and spacious balcony suites, professional, and ...

Not 5 star

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

This was the first luxury cruise my husband and I have taken; and given the price tag, we expected 5-star (or at least near 5-star) service. Sadly, it was more of a 3.5 to 4 star experience (at a 5+-star price). I don't normally write reviews; but feel I have to so that people don't waste thousands of dollars on future trips. Multiple times we arrived in the main dining room only to wait 2-3+ ...

Great little ship - but NOT nearly worth the price

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

This was going to be the Cruise of a Lifetime for my companion's 50th birthday. She has always wanted to see Alaska and I figured we would truly "go in style." I wanted the very best in service aboard a smaller, more custom vessel. 1. AIR TRANSPORT This therefore narrowed it down to either RSSC or Silverseas. What sold me on Regent, like many other passengers I am sure, was that they include ...
