Fortunately Alaska was great and that was our main reason to be on the ship. The food was marginal at best. The dining room was average and had some variety. The steak reminded me of the pick up trucks with refrigerators in the back, trying to sell poor quality meat. The Windjammer had the same stuff every night, or not much of a difference. We recently returned from a 12 day Alaska Cruise Tour on the Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas. The whole Alaska experience was incredible offering great views, diverse stops along the way, a friendly crew and friendly travelers. Sadly. I started cruising with RCI in 1978 with Song of Norway and stopped in 1988 with Sovereign of the Seas. I have continued with other companies Carnival, Holland, Princess, Celebrity, Oceania, and Crystal over the next 20+ years.
