Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Poor awareness of own documentation regarding COVID 19
"But in my opinion there is a big „BUT“ when it comes to Norwegian and I would rather not choose to sail with them in the future: They sent us dozens of E-Mails in advance of the cruise about COVID 19 regulations. The English version of their documents which we saw for the first time when boarding the ship stated the list of regulations per country were for the port of DESTINATION...."Read More

My sister and I were excited to experience Alaska, and we especially wanted to see whales and the beautiful scenery. This was my first cruise as a Platinum Latitude member. Expedited embarkation was excellent. The behind the scenes tour was great. Loved having the additional specialty dining meals and the free bottle of wine. We took the transfer from the Anchorage airport to the Seward cruise ...

Is NCL Slipping?

When it came time to book our very first cruise, we researched everything we could...dining options, entertainment, onboard amenities, itineraries...and we decided that NCL offered what we wanted. Freestyle dining? Yes please! Wide range of entertainment including Broadway shows? Heck yeah! Interesting itineraries? Yep, lots to choose from. Sadly, much of what led us to NCL is no longer ...

An Alaska cruise has been on our bucket list for quite some time so when planning this, I saw that the Jewel was a potential itinerary. We sailed on the Jewel back in 2007 (Italy and France) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Seeing that it was renovated recently, we thought we'd give it a try and we were glad that we did. My wife and I sailed with our two daughters (in their 20's). We booked the ...

A few issues

Chose the cruise for its Alaskan itinerary, and because we had enjoyed our Pride of America Hawaiian cruise several years ago. This ship is more luxurious, but we preferred the informality of the POA. The first problem we encountered was upon entering our cabin with an "oceanview picture window". The window was filthy with rust and salt spray between the panes, so the "view" was very ...

Quality of food is not what it used to be

The food is what we previously enjoyed the most, this time it was what we enjoyed the least. The specialty restaurants Cagney’s and Le Bistro had only a few tasty dishes but overall they weren’t anything to write home about either. The coffee everywhere on the ship was like twice recycled dish water. Guessing this is a push to buy the premium drink package. Most of the staff on the ship were ...

First of all I have to say, that there is nothing wrong with the cruise itself. The ship is nice, the staff is nice, the food was very good and the landscape of Alaska is definitely worth the whole trip. But in my opinion there is a big „BUT“ when it comes to Norwegian and I would rather not choose to sail with them in the future: They sent us dozens of E-Mails in advance of the cruise about ...

After doing a short 5 day Alaska Trip about 5 years ago we really wanted to see more. This time we flew up to Anchorage and did the train to Seward. Probably the highlight for us was the Train thru Denali . We checked in for our 4 hour train trip and had our room keys in hand. Walking onto the ship was very calming. No Sail away party or cheezy pics that you had to take to get onboard. ...

We decided on this cruise because we had a cruise next credit that we needed to use and it had been many years since we had visited Alaska. We were excited about the cruise and also wanted to see Denali. We booked the Denali land tour as well as the 7 night cruise. Included in the cruise we a number of extras including an airfare special. We have cruised with NCL and Oceania numerous times. When ...
