Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

Chose the cruise for its Alaskan itinerary, and because we had enjoyed our Pride of America Hawaiian cruise several years ago. This ship is more luxurious, but we preferred the informality of the POA. The first problem we encountered was upon entering our cabin with an "oceanview picture window". The window was filthy with rust and salt spray between the panes, so the "view" was very ...

We decided on this cruise because we had a cruise next credit that we needed to use and it had been many years since we had visited Alaska. We were excited about the cruise and also wanted to see Denali. We booked the Denali land tour as well as the 7 night cruise. Included in the cruise we a number of extras including an airfare special. We have cruised with NCL and Oceania numerous times. When ...

Not a value for the money....poor service..COVID

I was underwhelmed by the entire NCL Jewel experience. We booked this trip during COVID, when NCL had no customers. We decided to purchase a suite and paid a large premium versus our other friends who purchased inexpensive inside cabins. Just before the cruise, our friends were allowed to bid on upgrading to a suite and for only $500 (per couple), they received a suite. This was $1,500 less ...

Cheaper then Disneys, but we should have paid the extra money. Customer service was lacking, acted like you bothered them to ask question. Didn't get final bill until morning of disembarking, ran put of time to address issues, was supposed to get the bill 430 day b4. Entertainment was like High School musical...had one night in Bliss lounge with old school music n place was packed, band ...

We chose this ship because my husband and my daughters did the same trip six years ago. They were very happy about the trip. There was nothing similar. I want to start with airport to cruise ship transfer. We booked it previously and it looked very convenient. At the airport they took all our luggages and we were told they would have delivered luggages directly to our room. We embarked at 1pm. ...

My husband picked this trip for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, so this was suppose to be a trip of a lifetime. Before I tell the negative let me give you the positive. This was a two week trip the first week on land was done thru NCL with premiere travel we had a awesome guide and wonderful motor coach driver. The cruise on the other hand was still good but a let down after the first week. The ...

OK, here goes. The excursions saved this cruise from be horrific and, at that, they only increased my rating to Poor. Embarkation was fine, no real hassles. Disembarkation was a fiasco. From trying to identify your luggage out of hundreds of bags to trying to funnel out of the building thru on small doorway, it was poorly organized.....The staterooms/cabins, our was a port side forward balcony ...

Below par experience compared to other ships

Alaska is one of the prettiest places I have ever cruised but not the best cruise. The cabin was great. Had an ocean view room, saw the interior rooms and had friends with a balcony. I think our room was laid out the best. Lots of room for hanging and shelves. The bed was very uncomfortable and I heard the same from others. Service in the main dining room was very good but was disappointed in ...

It's always been on our bucket list to check out Alaska. Our three previous cruises had been on NCL to the Carribean, Transatlantic, and Mediterranean, so we booked this one with NCL a year in advance. Embarkation & Disembarkation went smoothly. The ship was clean but you can tell it was older and a little tired. It was a lot smaller than the others I had been on, and I think I do prefer the ...

Horrible food, hard beds, bad restaurant service

Picked this cruise for the itinerary but regretted it quickly. The food was terrible, even at the specialty restaurants we paid extra for. Service at several of the restaurants was bad with servers rolling their eyes on several occasions and ignoring us for significant amounts of time. Beds were rock hard and super uncomfortable. Room attendants were great, though and knew us by name. Music in ...
