Disappointment

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Millennium

This was my first cruise with Celebrity and my second cruise to Alaska. My first cruise to Alaska was on NCL's Bliss. I had read that this cruise line was "upscale" however my experience was mediocre. The buffet food and main dining room food was sub-par. The wait staff were pleasant. I didn't eat at a specialty restaurant, so I cannot speak on that. There were very few activities geared for ...

We took this cruise to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. We knew this was an older, smaller ship but we liked the itinerary so went with it. While the ship is older and could use updating, it is nevertheless impeccably clean and well maintained. That is one thing you can say for Celebrity....their ships are always immaculately clean! Our veranda cabin was smaller than what I am accustomed ...

Chose the cruise for its Alaskan itinerary, and because we had enjoyed our Pride of America Hawaiian cruise several years ago. This ship is more luxurious, but we preferred the informality of the POA. The first problem we encountered was upon entering our cabin with an "oceanview picture window". The window was filthy with rust and salt spray between the panes, so the "view" was very ...

Having been loyal to Royal for many years my husband and I recently started cruising with Celebrity as we prefer fewer young kids and a more adult-luxury-relaxed type experience. Celebrity delivers, in spades. Top of our bucket list was a visit to Alaska, which we just completed with several other couples. Ours was a land and sea cruisetour, and it was spectacular. However, if I were to go ...

Chose this cruise to see more of Alaska since covid postponed it so long and it was on my bucket list.We had 3 generations on this cruise and we all fell in love with Alaska and all would move there if it could be for 4-6 months!!Royal caribbean is def price cutting more with each cruise and unfortunately cruising no longer feels like what it used to and that is so sad.The long times in port and ...

Celebrity Millennium, 7 day southbound Hubbard Glacier from Seward to Vancouver Concierge class cabin 19-26 May 2023 I’d never been on a cruise until 11 months ago and just finished my third. May never reach “105” that the most cruised passenger onboard ship had, but that’s a worthy goal. Booked short notice as the ship was only 50% capacity and got a great offer through Celebrity Blue ...

Quality of food is not what it used to be

The food is what we previously enjoyed the most, this time it was what we enjoyed the least. The specialty restaurants Cagney’s and Le Bistro had only a few tasty dishes but overall they weren’t anything to write home about either. The coffee everywhere on the ship was like twice recycled dish water. Guessing this is a push to buy the premium drink package. Most of the staff on the ship were ...

Overrated Luxury

We are regular cruisers and for our cruise to Alaska we felt we would benefit more from the small ship experience. Our travel agent recommended Regent as the most luxurious cruise line. Maybe we just expected to much. The ship itself was immaculate and all the staff were very courteous. However, we found the standard of the food to be dissapointing, the main difference in mainline cruises and ...

After doing a short 5 day Alaska Trip about 5 years ago we really wanted to see more. This time we flew up to Anchorage and did the train to Seward. Probably the highlight for us was the Train thru Denali . We checked in for our 4 hour train trip and had our room keys in hand. Walking onto the ship was very calming. No Sail away party or cheezy pics that you had to take to get onboard. ...
