Food and service need attention

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Millennium

I traveled with a group of four on the Millenium going southbound from Seward. We traveled northbound on Holland America and we were all excited because Celebrity is (was) our favorite cruise line. Boarding was super easy and I was so happy with how everyone greeted us. After a week on the ship we feel that the food was pretty tired (limited choices and lacking of taste). We used to have three ...

Nothing but disappointment from Celebrity on the Millenium.

I have sailed on 31 cruises now and Celebrity Millennium takes the cake for, by far, the worst I have been on yet. What is so disappointing to me is Celebrity Edge is by far my favorite ship I have sailed on. Celebrity was my preferred brand until this cruise. For added context I am in my late 40s and sailed with my adult family in concierge class rooms - I bring this up because while it may ...

Disappointment

This was my first cruise with Celebrity and my second cruise to Alaska. My first cruise to Alaska was on NCL's Bliss. I had read that this cruise line was "upscale" however my experience was mediocre. The buffet food and main dining room food was sub-par. The wait staff were pleasant. I didn't eat at a specialty restaurant, so I cannot speak on that. There were very few activities geared for ...

Overpriced and too commercial

Our ship came by recommendation from our travel planner. The first day on the cruise we experienced a problem in the main dinning (Metropolitan) with seating our family. This was an issue throughout the cruise and while it was taken to upper management nothing changed. The food in the main dining was pre-prepared, cold, and bland(but we are used to more spice). There was a general air that ...

This was my first cruise with Celebrity however I have traveled several times on other lines. I was expecting something else as i was told if I like the previous cruise i was on this was the next level - well i was greatly disappointed. The staff - sure there was about 4-5 that i would say went above and beyond - the rest couldn't give a dam, in fact in one bar when my choice of drink ran out ...

Alaskan Cruise - Celebrity Millennium (Seward to Vancouver BC Route)

My wife and I just finished a Alaskan cruise on Celebrity Millennium on August 17th, 2018. Here are our detailed comments: An Alaskan cruise, inside passage, was a bucket list item for us. We chose the Millennium because rated good (not exceptional), and it's not so huge it could not get close to the glaciers. The boat is pretty worn. Completely functional, but worn. We had a sky suite ...

Less than impressed

We choose this Cruise to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary. Wanted to step up in class for this event. Service was less than impressed. We fly into Anchorage the day pior and took the train to Seward spectacular! Embarkation was uneventful. Ship pushed acholic packages hard. We purchased premium non-acholic package. Long story short beware!! Ship doesn't stock vitamin water in the bars ...

1. Logistics, boarding and disembarkation, very good, smooth, organized. 2. All of the wait and service staff very good, some exceptional. 3. Up charge for wi fi, poor, greedy. 4. Up charge for gelato and not the ice cream, poor, greedy. 5. Overall food: Main dining room, ok. Small portions and bland. Buffet, limited selections same day after day. Baked goods, very poor. Dry bread, ...

Not inexpensive--nickled and dimed to death

We chose this Alaska cruise because we had never cruised on Celebrity and had heard good things about the line. The ship is badly in need of renovation, especially the cabins. We booked a veranda stateroom and by the time we purchased drink cards, the cruise came to $420/day per person--not inexpensive. Day one brought a nearly one hour muster which was total chaos. The majority of ...

Great Land Tours

he land tour was just as we expected. The trains, buses, and transportation wee really good and the accommodations ranged from good to fantastic! The Millennium was a disappointment. While we realize that the ship celebrated its 17th birthday on our cruise, the problems with the cabin and the service are the result of delayed maintenance, shoddy housekeeping, and lack of training for the staff. ...
