We were on Viking in the Caribbean and it was great so we decided when they open up the Alaska cruise we are going so we booked it two years ahead time . Chose Viking because of a wonderful experience with their Danube cruise. Viking has very well trained individuals working with them. We chose this cruise because of the smaller ship and the associated land tour. We were not disappointed.

We had done an Alaska cruise 3 years ago and wanted to go back and see the interior parts of Alaska. Both the land portion and cruise were fantastic! First time in many many years to cruise with NCL. The stateroom (mid-ship mini suite with balcony) was very nice. However, in our judgment, the food was not up to par with other cruiselines. Most beautiful state in America. Norwegian does a fantastic job of showing the beautiful scenery and explaining what you are seeing. The glaciers are beautiful, although the caving is sad to see. The ride is smooth. We had 80-85 degree weather which made it an unreal expats we were able to enjoy the pool and music when on board.

Good variety of food & places to eat. Loved the Japanese restaurant. For the most part, the service was excellent.
Shore excursions booked through NCL were great.

First trip to Alaska. 31st cruise overall.
Arrived in Anchorage: June 21 @ 1:15 AM (a day early) and stayed at Inlet Hotel that included 24 hr shuttle and breakfast in the morning. Good hotel for a brief stayover. Great breakfast in restaurant instead of doing included con't breakfast. They offered us $10 p/person off for sit-down leisurely paced meal. Do it.
