Penthouse Suite (C) Cabin Reviews

I would totally book this cabin again as it’s an aft cabin on the end. The balcony is huge and the sunsets and sunrises are amazing. There is some vibration when the ship is pulling in and out of ports but it did not bother us at all.

Cabin: We booked an H Gty and were fortunate enough to receive a visit from the upgrade fairy to a PH C, Aft, commonly known as the Horizonview suites.  Although the same size as the D-H cabins, these aft-facing suites have larger balconies and butlers along with the associated amenities.  I'm not usually a butler kind of guy, but if all butlers were like Zahid, I probably would be.  The cabin itself was in excellent condition, and I was looking pretty closely after reading some recent reviews.  The carpet and cabinets were in excellent condition, everything worked, and even being aft, there were no serious rattles.  As others have said, the lack of drawer space could be an issue on a longer cruise, but my wife and I had plenty of space for all of our things.  I think there's more than adequate storage for anything up to 14-16 days, but I can see how it could start to be an issue on a longer itinerary.  But then again, anything short of the named suites is somewhat limited in space in the long run.  Our butler (Zahid) and stewardess (Cyndi sp?) were superb - our cabin was always spotless and they bent over backwards to meet our schedule.  Truth be told, I rarely saw our stewardess - I called her the stealth attendant.  We did have some issues with the shower door leaking, especially when anchored - there was a wind-induced list that allowed the water to splash over the sill.  An extra towel rolled up at the base of the shower cured that. Cabin was a big disappointment. We'd booked it because it faced aft and we thought it would have a larger balcony than a standard cabin. The balcony was slightly longer, but was the same width (the cabin was the same size as a regular cabin, even though it is designated as a "Penthouse"), and we very cramped. The cabin did not appear to have been recently renovated (others on the ship did look as if they had been), and the maintenance on it was not great. For example, the balcony door wouldn't latch at would fly open in rough seas...maintenance did come by and fix that for us. Another problem was with the toilet. It didn't flush properly and never put water back into the bowl after flushing. We paid extra for a "Penthouse" but found that to have been a real waste of money, as the cabin was no nicer or larger than the lowest price cabin. We won't make that mistake again. Read Less

A butler is not really worth paying extra for. Cabin is under the tables and chairs on the pool deck and you can hear people dragging the chairs around, it was cold so it was not that bad but avoid at all costs on a hot cruise!

Clean, spacious with walk in closet. The bathroom and bath products were superb. Only complaint was there was almost no place to plug the hairdryer in, due to the plug size- most people seemed to bring an extension cord to make it work.
