We looked forward to this trip with great anticipation. While the itinerary was not particularly appealing, the proximity to home was and we decided to go for it. The Excellent: - Our butler, who was wonderful and made the entire trip special. - Embarkation and parking, both easy and quick. - Staff, overall, was exceptional with a few notable exceptions not in keeping with the overall ...

1. Embarkment- Easy and Fast, we were onboard by 11:45 a.m. 2. Suite - Deck 6 with balcony. Nice size and ok balcony (2 chairs no lounges) but "long in the tooth" needs refurbishing. Especially the worn out and stained carpet. Cushions and throw pillows need replacing, not dirty just worn out. 3. Food - OK, but not the best. We returned one meal and suddenly we had a restaurant manager, ...

Best way to experience the Panama Canal

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

Most everyone, especially those who love the sea, has some familiarity with the story of the Panama Canal. David McCullough's marvelous book, The Path Between the Seas, is required reading for anyone making this trip. But no amount of reading or watching videos or documentaries prepares you adequately for the real thing. That's why we chose this trip. We began in Miami's Mandarin Oriental ...

What about the "unlimited free shore excursions " on Regent Navigator ?

We choose this cruise because of the itinerary , Panama Canal , Costa Rica , Guatemala , all those countries we haven't been ..and who are very interesting . The cabins are not very spacious , but correct . No need to take a Penthouse class , anyway the area is exactly the same , it's only the situation on the ship that differs , and you get the help of a butler . There are 3 restaurants ...

Navigator was good-weather excluded

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

The total cruise was very good, up to the expectation for Regent. Having spent over 400 nights on various of their ships, this did not alter my high expectations and observations. We had some bad luck with the weather, Hurricane edge off of Mexico-some deep holes in the water to go through- but the ships and crew seemed to handle it well-the guests were very quiet!. Jamie and Dana Logan ...

Good but not six star

Flew from Scotland, flight to Newark good, flight to Miami had to turn back because of hydraulic failure, bit scary but handled exceptionally well by United's lady pilot. Pre cruise overnight hotel fine, embarkation good. Suite, outside cabin, plenty of storage space, walk in wardrobe. Comfy beds, decor OK but believe ship is leaving the fleet soon. Bathroom plenty room bath and shower, though ...

Still our favorite ship

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Seven Seas Navigator

This little ship, 490 passenger, is still one of our favorite ships. We found her in 2008 and have sailed her 6 times. The staff are wonderful and help to make your cruise special. The cruise director, Lorraine, is one of the best. Embarkment was easy and painless. The shore excursions are free but Head Office is now skimping on the quality of the free excursions. Prime 7, the steak house ...

The Navigator is not THAT bad!

Yes, Regent has definitely gone down in the two years since we have sailed. I don't know where the previous poster was at embarkation but I was in the second row of chairs and it was very orderly, they began a couple of minutes after noon, they called by row, we were on board before 1230 and in our rooms by 230. Well done. The food was not as good (until I found a very accommodating head ...

Rocking and Rolling on the Navigator

My husband and I just returned from a great week's vacation on the Navigator. The ports included Cozumel, Belize, Santo Tomas de Castillo (Guatemala), and Key West. This was our second Regent cruise, the first being in the Baltic in the summer of 2006 on the Voyager. Our flight from DC to Fort Lauderdale was an object lesson in why you should always fly in the day before, if you can. The weather ...

Seven Seas Navigator - Western Caribbean

Our 8 night cruise to the Western Caribbean departed from Ft. Lauderdale on March 28th. We initially booked our airfare through Regent but learned that we could book it ourselves with a savings of almost 50%. Flying from the west coast requires an overnight stay in Ft. Lauderdale so we booked into Embassy Suites - a short drive from the airport (note: most things in Ft. Lauderdale are near both ...
