We are Gold level society members on the Regent Cruise Line and are loyal customers. But sailing on the Navigator has given us second thoughts about ever sailing on Regent again.
We spent 31 days on the Regent Navigator traveling from Vancouver to Alaska with our final destination at New York. Our observations of this ship is as follows:
1. The vibration on this ship is unacceptable and is ...
My husband and I sailed to Alaska on Regent Cruise Lines' Navigator. Like many cruisers, I did a lot of homework prior to choosing a line. I encourage folks to read these reviews to help with clothing, expectations on excursions and the like. I want to start with the good. The scenery is absolutely incredible and the Navigator's small size allowed us to get to ports that some of the larger ...
Far to many issues to mention but generally product is ok, ship old and needs a refit. Suites are old but clean and butler service was a nice touch.
Food is good but execution and service levels poor. No one goes out of the way to make you feel special.
Is second rate to Seabourn who provide that extra touch.
Free tours generally are a waste of time though paid are fairly good.
Don't ...
Alaska is stunningly beautiful. The scenic wonders made the time well spent, but that is separate from our disappointing experiences on Navigator.
We found the overall attitude to be very different from other luxury ships, ie Seabourn, and very disappointing. The staff was superficially pleasant but mechanical, as long as we made routine requests they were okay. But if you want something ...
This was my last Regent Cruise because the company gives itself 6 stars, when the experience is really 3.5 at best. The real problems are with their mechanical maintenance and boat quality -- the things a person on a smallish boat in a big sea would like for the company they just paid more than $6k for a one week cruise to focus on when investing their profits!
Mechanical Issues: This boat ...
This cruise line thinks it is the best ships in the fleet of ALL cruises. Boy oh boy are they wrong!!!!!!!
The regent's is too expensive for what you get. The room was old and run down. There was a dead roach in my room when we walked in, for the first time. They say your excursions are included, if you book a year in advance. I tried 2 months before and everything was booked. It seems more ...
We chose the Regent because we wanted a smaller ship experience. It was a great decision to choose the all-inclusive cruise. The travel agent gave us access to all the included excursions to choose from and the date to sign up. We did that in a timely fashion online and got everything we chose. The standard room with a balcony was just great. The bathroom was very large with a shower, large ...
This was our second cruise ever, the first being on a huge Princess cruiseship. I was overwhelmed on the first cruise by the new experience and the size and the service. This cruise, however, was so much more intimate. 490 passengers and 350 crew. You never wanted for anything, and everyone was so nice and looked like they enjoyed their job on the ship. Three top notch restaurants plus the ...
We just completed a 7 day Alaska cruise on the Regent Navigator from Vancouver to Anchorage. We were an extended family group of 15 ranging in age from 9 to 86. I just want to say at the outset what a fabulous job Regent's staff did to make this really a perfect cruise. This was a first cruise for many of us and we were quite concerned after reading some of the previous reviews about this trip ...
Based on friends' recommendations, we decided to try Regent for our planned Alaska cruise. We have cruised with our children (then teenagers) on Royal Caribbean before - it was great - but this special cruise for just the two of us was perfect.
Although I say "perfect" I will emphasize any info that was actually lacking at all - just for the point of educating anyone planning a cruise on this ...
