Mariner is not in good shape - needs an overhaul big time!

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

Dining rooms had repetitive menus for five months, the two specialty restaurants Prime 7 & Chartreuse never changed the menus. All dining rooms were chronically understaffed which meant long waits for food to be taken and then dishes cleared. Newly hired staff had little to no idea of what exactly they were responsible for - we repeatedly waved down staff for a refill of water and wine with our ...

We wanted a luxury cruise on a smaller ship with excellent service and good food. We had only cruised on Oceania before and thought that this line would be comparable. We were sorely mistaken. We have sailed with Regent twice before, found it 6 star and hoped for the same but were sadly disappointed. Everything on board Mariner had a veneer of quality but not the depth. Apart from receiving a captain's broadcast at noon daily, no one actually saw him. Nor did ship's officers mingle or appear other than very briefly. We saw steak dishes rejected in the specialty steak restaurant twice! ...

We recently sailed on the Seven Seas Mariner on the 72-night Panama to Patagonia Grand Voyage. We wanted to take a bit of time before writing this review so that it was written from a thoughtful perspective rather that an emotional viewpoint. We have been sailing with RSSC since 2007, and have logged 391 nights having sailed on several world cruises and grand voyages. On each voyage we ...
