Best ever cruise, best ever vacation

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We are retired couple who have traveled all over the world, we wanted to try one of the upscale cruise lines as we have been unhappy with most of the gigantic ship lines. We got the penthouse suite which is only like the 3 category up and it was fabulous, plenty of room, walk in closest, large balcony. People say the rooms are old but everything looked immaculate to us and perfect working ...

Disappointingly average with serious housekeeping issues

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

My wife and I are cruisers of 20 years and this was our first time on Regent. We chose back-to-back cruises in the Eastern Med in a Mariner suite and we were extremely disappointed by our experience. The ship, the dining, the entertainment were all painfully average, but the trip was totally marred by housekeeping issues. A stain on a sheet on the first night was changed quickly and efficiently. ...

We've been interested in trying Regent for some time, and this itinerary caught our eyes as it covered some lesser-visited ports we wanted to see. One thing I hadn't realized is that Mariner was ending the World Cruise in Barcelona immediately prior to our cruise; I think the fact that a large block of the staff turned over in Barcelona (and maybe a few of the others had gotten settled in a ...

Seven Seas Mariner has gone downhill

This was our 6th cruise with Regent Seven Seas and it may well be the last. What was once a high end luxurious cruising experience has now been diminished to cost cutting. The service, the cuisine, the excursions are all sub-par now. For example, although most regular excursions are "free" we wanted a more memorable experience and so paid over $600 a person for the "Private View of the ...

Great trip, but the ship was very understaffed.

We are long time Regent cruisers and do enjoy our trips. We have always enjoyed the excellent service and food. This year there was an obvious problem with the service. The current staff was wonderful and worked very hard but they needed more help. Some examples We had breakfast every morning in Veranda. We ordered cappuccino every day and it never was delivered until we had finished ...

2nd Regent Cruise/Top of the Line

I am a solo traveler, by choice, and when I saw that Regent was offering a 25% single supplement, I called my wonderful travel agency and inquired. I also learned that there were discounted business/1st class air accommodations if I wanted to pay for the upgrade. I did and was very pleased that I did. Flights were smooth, pickup in Venice, Italy was simple. Off to the ship. Spent about an ...

Underwhelmed

This was our seventh cruise, having previously sailed with Celebrity, Azamara and Seabourn. I liked the layout of the ship and thought the food in all of the restaurants was of a very high standard and could not be faulted. Service however was patchy and we often had to go up to the bar and ask for a drink as there did not seem to be enough waiting staff in the pool area or horizons lounge. ...

A disappointment

I just sailed the Seven Seas Mariner. My husband and I sailed the western Mediteranean with our two young adult sons to celebrate their successful completion of undergraduate university degrees. As a family, we have cruised many times previously but always with 5 star lines such as Holland America and Celebrity. With few hitches here or there, we were always happy with the cruise experience. This ...

We originally booked a 16 night Tahiti to Lima, Peru cruise that included a 'Bucket List' stop at Easter Island. By the time we boarded in Papeete, we had added 2 more segments for a total of 47 nights, ending in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Friends were joining us on 2 segments, Lima to Rio, and they were first time Regent cruisers who had cruised about 10 times on other cruise lines. Other than ...

Review for a Italy Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We combined a 12 day land tour with an excellent tour company. Our TA coordinated everything with Regent and tour company so that our Regent Air brought us into Milan on 10/18 and we were driven to Lake Como for 3 days -- group was just one other couple, with whom we got along fabulously. Our tour captain was great, so it was a wonderful prelude to Mariner Cruise. In land tour we spent 3 nightsn ...
