My Husband and I were very excited to sail on our first Regent Cruise. We had heard a lot about the company from many of our friends. We are seasoned cruisers, mostly in retreat class on Celebrity. We are people who never complain. The glass is half full not half empty, and the upsets on this cruise were so bad that it ruined my trip. The worst thing is friends are asking me how my trip was ...
We chose this cruise because of an ACBL sponsored on-board duplicate bridge tournament and because it stopped at ports I had not been to previously.
This review is of the Regent Seven Seas Mariner in particular, a ship which should have been taken out of service and given a major upgrade. One should have a compelling reason to book on this ship while it is in this condition.
The toilets in ...
We chose this cruise to experience Regent for the first time. We have cruised quite a bit with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity and Crystal (before it failed). We thought we would get excellence and we’re so disappointed about so many things. We love good food but found it hard to get a good meal on this cruise. We were forced to eat earlier than we usually do for dinner to avoid a 30 minute wait for a ...
Dining rooms had repetitive menus for five months, the two specialty restaurants Prime 7 & Chartreuse never changed the menus. All dining rooms were chronically understaffed which meant long waits for food to be taken and then dishes cleared. Newly hired staff had little to no idea of what exactly they were responsible for - we repeatedly waved down staff for a refill of water and wine with our ...
Very disappointed in Regent. Not the quality Regent experience we expected after highest recommendations from friends.
AIRPORT TRANSFER - baggage came quickly, then we waited over an hour for the transfer agent to take us to the bus.
PRE-CRUISE HOTEL - Beverly Wilshire was lovely. Large room with French doors out to a patio. Luxurious and excellent service. Regent breakfast was good but ...
We are long time cruisers with over 20 cruises on several different cruise lines. Now that we are in our early to mid 60’s and retired, we decided to try Regent Seven Seas to see if it might be a fit for us (money being no object). We were excited to go on a ‘luxury all inclusive cruise’ that touts itself as ‘6 Stars’.
Our flight arrived in LAX and after collecting our luggage we waited for ...
Do not waste your money. You take a cruise to see things. Excursions cancelled, brochure makes it sound fabolous, not true in descriptions. Food is not that flavorful. Buffet - many times bowls were empty, very slow in getting soft drinks or drinks, all the food in every restaurant taste the same. Elevators not working for days, plumbing problems, laundry was delayed in getting clothes back. ...
This was our third RSSC cruise. Second time on the Mariner. The remaining cruise on Voyager. With the new controls on cruising we doubt that we will do a cruise again. So, having reflected, what have we learned?
1) Our first two cruises were with a concierge cabin. The third time was a penthouse suite. A huge difference that we really enjoyed.
2) its important to understand that pre and post ...
We were excited to take this cruise because we wanted to visit the Amazon.
Additionally friends had told us how wonderful Regent Cruise lines is
The shore trips were marginal and poorly executed. The guides were extremely inexperienced and lacked knowledge
The best bird sightings were at the zoo in Manaus. Not what we expected.
The food was barely average. It lacked creativity and ...
We have been on over 20 cruises on various lines. We took this because it was the next level up and we wanted to compare it to Oceania. One passenger describe it best when he said about the crew, they are very friending and smile but the just don't understand what you are asking for. Alcohol is included in the price but if you don't drink, the staff does not know what to do with you. I never ...
