Mariner is not in good shape - needs an overhaul big time!

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

Dining rooms had repetitive menus for five months, the two specialty restaurants Prime 7 & Chartreuse never changed the menus. All dining rooms were chronically understaffed which meant long waits for food to be taken and then dishes cleared. Newly hired staff had little to no idea of what exactly they were responsible for - we repeatedly waved down staff for a refill of water and wine with our ...

This was our third RSSC cruise. Second time on the Mariner. The remaining cruise on Voyager. With the new controls on cruising we doubt that we will do a cruise again. So, having reflected, what have we learned? 1) Our first two cruises were with a concierge cabin. The third time was a penthouse suite. A huge difference that we really enjoyed. 2) its important to understand that pre and post ...

This was a cruise in celebration of forthcoming Golden Wedding and a birthday on board. We had selected this cruise because of recommendations from our friends how helpful they had found the crew with respect to special meals. We had sailed on one of the early voyages of the RSS Explorer in 2016 and found the service and cabin exceptional, catering for every need without any problems. On this ...

VERY NICE, BUT NOT EXCEPTIONAL

We selected this cruise initially because of the advertised stop at Papua New Guinea. Otherwise, we had previously visited almost all the other ports. The day before we boarded, we were advised by our travel agent that Regent had canceled the stop at Papua New Guinea. There were 3 or 4 different reasons going around among passengers as to why, although we never learned. The ship was very ...

Had a wonderful time on the Mariner in Australia. The ship is just the right size and Regent treated us to a spectacular New Year’s Eve party in Bali. We also were treated to a magical evening at the Australian Open tennis tournament. We had great seats in Rod Laver Stadium for two night matches. The crew and officers on Regent are friendly, efficient, and helpful. Since most Regent ...

Nov. 27, 2018 Mariner Papeete to Auckland The following experience optimizes what makes a Regent Cruise so wonderful. It's the exceptional, sincere, and kind individuals that work together to create for guests a once in a lifetime celebration and memories. We chose this trip because we vowed to return after 20 years to the places where we honeymooned. I mentioned to Sunil, our butler how ...

My father and I had always wanted to go to Tahiti, he was turning 80 and I was wondering if we would ever get a chance to travel together since his health had suddenly deteriorated. Regent was the perfect cruise line. We were tired of the up charging for this and that. Wanted a cruise that we didn’t have to check our receipts for the day or worry about the extras. Everything was taken care of! ...

Great cruise! We chose this cruise for several reasons: 1. we hadn't been on Regent for over four years and felt it was time to give them another try; 2. we wanted to see the Panama canal; 3. it was an expensive way to get to South America to visit our friends in Ecuador. We are Gold on Regent, and this was our 12th cruise with them; we go back to 2000 on the Paul Gauguin. We had sailed on ...

Have gone on a Regent Cruise many times. This is the first time we neither enjoyed the ship or the destinations. Our South American cruise highlighted the Galapagos and Machu Picchu, however they were not a part of our sites. Machu Picchu was a post 18 day cruise destination which was not clear in the marketing. There was one excellent lecturer on board, but very few daytime activities that were ...

We originally booked a 16 night Tahiti to Lima, Peru cruise that included a 'Bucket List' stop at Easter Island. By the time we boarded in Papeete, we had added 2 more segments for a total of 47 nights, ending in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Friends were joining us on 2 segments, Lima to Rio, and they were first time Regent cruisers who had cruised about 10 times on other cruise lines. Other than ...
