This was our fourth cruise with RSS but our first on Mariner. Our suite was spacious and light with a huge balcony accommodating a double lounger with canopy and side table and another large circular table with three comfortable cushioned chairs. There were two tv's, a comfortable sofa, coffee table with interesting books and a dining table and chairs. Good desk space too. The vanity desk was well lit with large magnifying mirror. The closet had loads of hanging space, plenty of hangers, and drawers. The safe, as always in these cases, would have benefitted from an internal light. Plenty of space for shoes and bags including some wall hooks, which were extremely useful. More light in the closet itself would have been good. The hairdryer was disappointing, basic model and not very powerful with very twisted flex. Voyager had better. Bed was very comfortable with excellent linen. The stewardesses kept everything spotless. Bathroom had good rainforest shower and handset. Useful marble bench in shower cubicle. Mariner's refit is more than 12 months overdue, having been pushed back from early 2017, and it shows - carpets and curtains need replacing badly. All the staff were excellent, polite, hard working and a credit to RSS. The captain is not a natural communicator but a brilliant sailor! The cruise director was very good indeed and was well able to deliver good and bad news. His, often more than daily, updates on ship matters were very informative. The ship was unable to dock in the Falkland Islands, a grave disappointment to UK guests, and this was handled well with alternative course and land excursions being deployed efficiently. We did feel that the more than 50% chance of not landing in the Falklands, should have been more clearly stated in the given itinerary by RSS. Read Less

This suite is a $5000 upgrade. The sofa was filthy. The faux [plastic] rattan furniture on the Veranda was falling apart. THe bed is squeezed into an alcove that gets very little a/c and was always way too warm at night.

A little bit tired. Very small bathroom. Adequate shower. Dirty balcony. We booked this suite for the balcony only to find very dirty cushions particularly on the lounger. After 3 days and several requests they changed the filthy lounger covering. We shouldn't have needed to ask. One afternoon with no warning on a cruise day, they decided to pressure wash above us so we got soaked. Complaining elicited nothing. Not even sorry. Would never pay the money for this accommodation again. NEVER! Read Less

Perfect room....beautiful views...huge balcony... We were in 1084 which is center-aft, and deck 10 is the highest level with suites on the back of the ship. Perfect! The room was large, with a beautifully appointed marble bathroom stocked with goodies from Hermes and L'Occitane (in case you can't decide)...but the thing we loved most was the over-sized balcony. The outside space was nearly 275 sq feet...large enough for a breakfast table with four chairs and a 2 person chaise lounge plus room to dance in between! The views in port and whilst leaving each destination were worth the price alone!! Three nights of the cruise my wife and I actually fell asleep on the chaise listening to the wake of the ship. Our Butler "Z" was amazing and our steward "Nic" was excellent. They even filled our room with balloons and put rose petals and kissing swans (made of towels) on our bed the night we celebrated our 25th anniversary. We had Proseco and Canapes most evenings before dinner, and enjoyed breakfast on our balcony most mornings. We also had dinner in our room 3 nights out of seven...it was so relaxing and the food and service were excellent. Read Less
