Deluxe Suite (D) Cabin Reviews

Nice, if a little small. Good amenities. Good general condition. Uncomfortable couch (a foldaway bed, I believe). Good bathroom with tub. No issues with heating cooling, the thermostat worked as advertised (contrary to some reviews).

I like that the TV is located where it can be watched from the sofa, unlike on the Explorer where it is at the foot of bed. The suite includes a stocked minibar. I particularly like the walk in closet because I can totally unpack, put my suitcases out of sight for the duration of the cruise. Read Less

Cabin size is acceptable (albeit the balcony is a little tight) and the layout of bedroom, separate walk-in wardrobe and separate bathroom is very good. The WIW particularly is very generous and there's enough space to hang and store all your 'stuff' for the next two weeks. The bathroom (shower only, no bath) was spacious enough for two weeks and there was enough storage space. Overall, the suite itself is dated (like the rest of the ship) and in need of the renovation - this cruise was the penultimate ahead of refurbishment in Marseille/Barcelona. Everything worked, the bed was very comfortable, stinky pillows were quickly replaced, however the overall impression is not 'deluxe, premium or 6 star'. Read Less

Amazon journey : Cabin 1029
Cabin was spacious with a great walk-in closet. Shower was only average but adequate. Sitting area could be curtained off from the bed area, allowing one person to sleep longer if desired. Balcony was very good with comfortable loungers.

This original cabin is unacceptable for all but the most tolerant (or hearing impaired) guests. A drain pipe from the pool overflow "gutter" apparently traverses the ship right behind the bed in this cabin and there is constant sloshing, gurgling and swishing from the pool. NOT a category "D" accommodating. Don't book this room and I would question similarly placed rooms on the other side of the pool and in the immediate vicinity of the pool on both decks 9 and 10. Cruise to Cuba : Cabin 1026
The Class D suites were marginal to say the least. They need drastic updating. The carpeting is in rough shape, the curtains and furniture were worn, and outdoor furniture cushions were dirty. Dry dock ship.
