Good Cruise to the Amazon
"Overall we liked the cruise and the ship but ultimately decided it was our last Regent cruise for several reasons – expensive cruise and small ship with limited entertainment - biggest advantage was free drinks but we aren’t big drinkers. The small casino was not open very often as we had a lot of stops but it seemed empty when it was open...."Read More

Good Cruise to the Amazon

Review for a South America Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

My wife and I just finished a 25 day cruise to the Amazon River in Brazil on the Regent Seven Seas Mariner. We are in our mid 60s and have cruised over 30 times mostly on Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. This was our first “luxury cruise”. The itinerary was round trip Miami with many stops in the Caribbean and 3 days up the Amazon River to Manaus, Brazil. Everything was included in the fare – ...

The Amazon

We wanted to visit the Amazon. It was worth the price of many sea days (which we normally try to minimize). We just returned, arriving in Miami Jan 6, 2020. It was a solid 4 star experience, based on 20 cruises on 12 cruise lines. The all-inclusive feature is nice, although for those of us who don’t drink, free alcohol is not a benefit. Not being nickel-dimed is worth it, unlike certain cruise ...

Buenos Aries to Rio de Janeiro 10 night cruise. We arrived 2 days before departure to explore Buenos Aries. The ship put us up at the Alvear Palace Hotel. Wow! What a spectacular hotel. Highly recommend it. We booked a walking tour guide through the hotel. Great way to see part of the city and hear the interesting history. The cemetery "village" is a must. If you enjoy steak and a hip ...

Some of the sparkle has gone!!

We booked this cruise very late due to domestic circumstances and got a good deal as a consequence. The down side however was the available business class flights were limited. Our agent booked our outbound flight to Lima via Miami with a 2 hour 5 mins connection time and we thought this would be OK. Then we discovered that we would have to go through US immigration and possibly even collect our ...

Panama Canal - bucket list cruise!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

We have always wanted to cruise through the Panama Canal. After looking at lots of options (and no longer paying college tuition for our youngest!) we decided to take a splurge trip and booked the Regent Mariner. We are 61 and 66 years old and have cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Princess. This was our first luxury cruise line. We were told to be prepared to ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We had a choice of Regent or their sister line, Oceania for the same itinerary. We decided to give Regent a try and we were very happy we did. We had sailed Oceania before and we found Regent and Oceania comparable in most ways. We also found the cost to be about the same when you add the things that are included on Regent to similar things at extra ...

My wife and I traveled on Regent Mariner for the first time on this cruise line. Even though the ship shows some signs of wear, the crew could not have been more friendly and accommodating. We loved everything about the voyage. The ten sea days were filled with activities, especially an excellent lecturer. We enjoyed playing ACBL sanctioned duplicate bridge on the sea days. We danced every evening ...

Very nice cruise, somewhat lacking in activities on-board.

We liked the itinerary and the cruise line. Regent is expensive, but you don't get nickeled and dimed on board. The size (small) of the ship also made it attractive. My mjain complaint was the lack of activities and the lack of variation in the activities. Since my wife and I like "brain" games - trivia of various sorts, this cruise was lacking. I also would have liked a bit more variety in ...

Loved the itinerary as it was a combination of great cities and beach resorts. Terry Breen the enrichment speaker is excellent and really makes new locations come alive. The Food and Beverage Manager and the chef did a wonderful job. The food was excellent, particularly the fish and the staff were well trained and very good. My husband has a disability and uses a walker. The entire Regent ...
