Vibration could have been a problem had we not been moved

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

On our first evening in suite 844 the vibration was dreadful. The entire bathroom vibrated, as did the bedroom. Worst of all was the bed vibrating. Our entire bodies shook. It was distressing and made us both feel almost sick. First thing in the morning my husband reported the matter, but somehow it was not seen as a complaint! After three visits to reception, we eventually got a member of ...

Luxury?

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

Just completed 2 b2b cruises, last one being a transatlantic. In good conscience, I will have to give the Explorer 4 stars. It is a pretty ship, although with some jarring and too glitzy decor. The much touted “art” looks like something purchased by the yard in a warehouse. Some very nice art glass pieces in various locations. Many comfortable lounges and places to relax. The staff is ...

We chose this cruise for its itinerary having sailed from Dubai to Cape Town via East Africa with Regent three years ago (a cruise which rated as one of the best we have ever done). A bonus was a chance to sail on the Explorer. We chose the pre-cruise experience on offer in Lisbon as the post cruise with a Safari meant coming home on Christmas Day! Pre-Cruise - Lapa Palace - good hotel but ...

Our "never say never" cruise on Regent

Although I had sworn I would not sail Regent again after a terrible experience a few years back on Mariner (Istanbul-Istanbul), I was tempted by the new ship, positive comments by other cruisers and a convenient itinerary in the Med. A good price didn't hurt either! By way of background, we are regular cruisers on Seabourn (Gold) and Hapag-Lloyd Europa Gold), as well as 3 Crystal cruises ...

Really very nice cruise--a few areas for improvement

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

We did the Barcelona-to-Rome cruise leaving Barcelona April 2018 and had a great time. The room sizes are far better than any others we have seen, and include a walk-in closet and spacious bathroom--not amenities you normally find on a cruise ship. The public areas, bars, pool area were all great, and I particularly liked the health club on the 6th floor. In addition, Regent's arrival (at the ...

Beautiful ship, excellent food and service, a few small glitches

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

Really a 4.5. Embarkation in Miami extremely easy especially if you were in one of the larger suites like we were--a Master Suite. But really it was only the difference between no wait and at most a 3-4 minute wait, there were over 15 agents taking care of the formalities. One unusual thing--first time ever in 2+ cruises that we were allowed to keep our passports. Ship itself is ...

Seven Seas Explorer almost lives up to the hype

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

Chose this cruise (Rome to Miami) for the ship and the TransAtlantic experience. The food, cabin staff and dining staff service were absolutely first rate. This was our first "all-inclusive" cruise experience and we found it very relaxing not to always be reaching for your cabin card. The entertainment was generally above average, although the magician did a juvenile routine that clearly ...

Not enough time given to finishing touches

Whilst the ship in general was really luxurious the time given to the shipyard to complete the fitting out showed in many areas:- Balcony door could not be opened from the outside on 3 occasions. Shower head was hanging loose from ceiling in cabin Painting on a wall in cabin 15mm on the slant, visible and noticeable. In the Meridian lounge part of the ceiling decorations fell to the ...

Excellent cruise from Venice to Monte Carlo

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Seven Seas Explorer

We spent three days in Venice, prior to embarkation. Embarkation took less than fifteen minutes and then a pleasant lunch at La Veranda. We were in our room by 2:30. Very nice room with plenty of closet space and a butler who could answer any question and solve most problems. We ate at all the restaurants and generally had very good, but not great food. Explorer does a better job with seafood ...

I specifically chose this cruise for the new ship and the itinerary. Neither disappointed. The ship is absolutely beautiful and anyone who reviews it less than 5 stars I really wonder about... So book with confidence for a luxury ship - your stateroom, pool, and public areas. See my stateroom review. I would agree with other reviewers service was so-so. Some of the staff were excellent - ...
