Not worth the extra expense
"Bottom line, I might consider Regent again, but not for a 'fourteen' day cruise, and I would want to know that they have improved their customer service for when you are notRegent is more expensive than our usual cruise, but we wanted to see if it was worth the money; it was not, which is why the cruise only received 3 stars...."Read More

We signed up for this cruise in 2020. We hoped by end of Oct. 2022 things with Covid would have settled down. Since this was to be our 6th Regent cruise, 2nd on Explorer, we believed the tours would be very good and safe. We believed we needed to be careful in many parts or the world now. Especially since we are in our seventies and walk a bit slower. We believed Regen would take good care of us ...

We booked this cruise for the itinerary, and because the dates fit. Regent is more expensive than our usual cruise, but we wanted to see if it was worth the money; it was not, which is why the cruise only received 3 stars. We had booked a 14 day cruise. Three months before the sailing date, Regent sent us a notice that the cruise itinerary was being dramatically changed, dropping many cities ...

Chose this cruise for itinerary an Regent's reputation. Overall really beautiful ship. Very well maintained. Excellent cabin and bathroom with more storage then we could use. Outstanding food. Service was excellent and very friendly. One port of call skipped and another changed because of weather(obviously not Regent's fault). They did not handle the excursion changes well. Included excursions ...

We wanted to stop off on the way in London for a few days. We paid over $1000 each extra to do that. We gave them the flight numbers. Two weeks before we left we found our flights were different and we were not even in London. Regents was not helpful at all. They rerouted us to other flights even though our original flights were still available. Not even nice about it. Rude rude rude. I ...

No TV For 4 Days and No Credit or Accommodation

Boat was excellent But TV went out 4 days ago and they do not know how to fix They are cavalier about it--as if saying I am sorry is enough Considering air, we are paying $2500 per day to be in a Penthouse Suite, that is NOT ok To not give us any monetary accommodation is ridiculous Gaeta--was not a good port--nothing there and tours were not good. Pacific Rim restaurant is ...

We sprung for the Grand Suite, which was very impressive upon first entering it. Then, as we turned the hot tub on, it would not turn off and set off alarms. We had to laugh as employees came rushing to our room as we all watched our luxurious suite flood! Next, we lost our ability to watch Satellite TV half way thru the cruise. This never got resolved. It was very disappointing, as we liked to ...

We had been on a Regent cruise four years ago that we really enjoyed. We really wanted to check out the newest ship, Explorer, so we booked a Mediterranean cruise starting in Barcelona and ending in Venice. I initially wanted to get a penthouse suite but they were all booked. We ended up with a superior suite, which is one step above their lowest category of deluxe verandah. This is an ...

We make spring crossings every year and decided to try the Explorer to see what it is like. Unfortunately, we booked a cat G suite which is very small, around 250 sq ft with only 24 inches of hanging space in the closet. I think this category was originally designed for single travelers, but couples were booked in all of them. They are still working out many problems left by the shipyard. A ...

Interesting first time experience--unlikely to do it this way again

We chose this for the itinerary-across the Med to many places we had not been, and to try out this form of travel--luxury cruise.Overall its unlikely we would do this kind of cruise again: Beautiful ship, well appointed. Not quite 700 people on board and rarely felt crowded. But as we came into the last few nights we were feeling too confined, limited choices. We very much like to spend ...

The biggest asset Regent have are their staff. The suites are well designed, larger but why no chair other than a desk chair and the couch is poor. The bathroom/ shower is excellent. The Veranda restaurant has a lot more space outside and the chairs are much improved. The tables are already getting chipped. The Speciality restaurants, Prime 7 , Chatreuse, and Pacific Rim are good although ...
