All glitz, not a lot of substance

We read , and foolishly believed the slogan” the most luxurious ship in the world, so promptly booked a Miami round trip, visiting Belize and Guatemala. We flew to Miami, staying in the superb Biltmore hotel prior to our cruise. Embarkation was a quick process, and we were welcomed onboard by smiling staff proffering small glasses of champagne. As it was lunchtime, we decided quickly to ...

We chose Seven Seas Explorer as it is described as 'The most luxurious ship ever built" As we stepped onboard we could clearly see this ship is very luxurious and smart. All the public areas are immaculate and 'upmarket'. There is a good choice of restaurants and the food is generally quite good. The Sunday morning brunch is magnificent served in the Compass Rose restaurant. I can ...

This ship is supposed to be free WI-FI .More like hardly any wi-fi.Took 4 hours to download a local paper. Could not get e-mail. Want to wish family Merry Christmas forget about it. Compass Rose dining too noisy .Had to always wait.Once I asked for a table for 4 to at least be seated .Was told by Maitre D he needed all tables. We were leaving and nobody had sat at that table. Also they rush you ...

My wife and i have sailed on over 25 cruises ranging from large, to midsize, and to small ships, at both luxury and premium levels. For several years now we have wanted to try Regent but could not find an itinerary nor price point suitable for us. When this cruise was offered it was to sail to Havana as well as the western Caribbean, which we had not done before but was subsequently rerouted, ...

We booked this cruise line on the expectation of a beautiful, new ship and the level a service and attention that we experienced on Regent in past years. Wife needed a wheelchair when we boarded, which was available once we were on the ship. BUT, I was carrying three heavy bags and no one came to help. I had to drag the bags down to the lower level floor for safe keeping, When the room was ...

Went on this cruise to celebrate our anniversary. First time on Regent. Had traveled on sister company, Oceania several times. We found the beds on Oceania more to our liking for firmness, but that is personal preference. Very good choice of restaurants. Because we were willing to share tables, we were able to dine in the specialty restaurants several times each. The main dining room ...

Points to consider……………….. We are long time main stream cruisers having sailed on a number of different lines including Sliver Sea with a few preferences. This was our 1st Regent Cruise and we cancelled a back to back booking on Celebrity based on the desire and a promotion to try their “most luxurious cruise ship “ That said, expectations were very high. Embarkation was delayed for security ...

DONT BOOK SUITE IN BACK OF EXPLORER>all suites in back. we were in 880. don't book a suite in the back of boat . View blocked by half walls instead of a see thru railing. So when u have room service on your balcony u get to look at the half wall. Or when u lounge u only see the half wall. no one told us the agents did not know. all the brochure photos show glass see through railings, so instead ...

The Most Luxurious Ship in the World???

The most luxurious ship in the world? The visual consideration is certainly a fit for this description, but the service cannot make the claim. We had very high expectations for this cruise, but cannot say that they were met. But first, we must address what was RIGHT and GOOD about this ship, especially for those who are looking forward to their cruise. The public spaces are beautiful and there is ...

We chose to go with Regent for the 3rd year in a row after very good experience on the Navigator. Explorer has been hyped as the most luxurious cruise liner in the World, so we thought we would try her. She looks beautiful and the interior art, decor and appearance is gorgeous and the furniture is very comfortable too. First impressions are very good. The main problem for us and a number of ...
