Really very nice cruise--a few areas for improvement

We did the Barcelona-to-Rome cruise leaving Barcelona April 2018 and had a great time. The room sizes are far better than any others we have seen, and include a walk-in closet and spacious bathroom--not amenities you normally find on a cruise ship. The public areas, bars, pool area were all great, and I particularly liked the health club on the 6th floor. In addition, Regent's arrival (at the ...

Excellent cruise from Venice to Monte Carlo

We spent three days in Venice, prior to embarkation. Embarkation took less than fifteen minutes and then a pleasant lunch at La Veranda. We were in our room by 2:30. Very nice room with plenty of closet space and a butler who could answer any question and solve most problems. We ate at all the restaurants and generally had very good, but not great food. Explorer does a better job with seafood ...

I specifically chose this cruise for the new ship and the itinerary. Neither disappointed. The ship is absolutely beautiful and anyone who reviews it less than 5 stars I really wonder about... So book with confidence for a luxury ship - your stateroom, pool, and public areas. See my stateroom review. I would agree with other reviewers service was so-so. Some of the staff were excellent - ...

Very good, but not necessarily better than other Regent ships.

Explorer from Venice to Haifa Overall the Explorer experience was very good, though similar in many ways to the other Regent ships. The F1 cabin was excellent, roomy with a large balcony. Shower was good sized. There was a bathtub which I didn’t use. There were two sinks in the bathroom, making it very user-friendly for two people. There is no night light. For a ship filled with mostly ...

Over rated but still very nice

This is our 4th Regent cruise. The fact that the Regent Seven Seas Explorer was a new ship was nice but we chose this cruise for the itinerary - Istanbul to Israel via the Greek Isles and Egypt but mostly for the Egypt portion which was 2 ports. Istanbul was cancelled well in advance and the ship was rerouted out of Venice. The Egypt portion was then cancelled AFTER the refund policy period. Very ...

Excellent service and quality dining - though not the hype about the ship.

This cruise would have got full marks if I had been sailing on either of the other Regent Ships, (Mariner or Voyager) as the service was excellent, as was the food and beverages offered - excellent quality and presentation. In particular the speciality restaurants. However as the ship was hailed (and as we were repeatedly told, it wore thin after a while) "the most luxurious ship ever built", that ...

Brand New; the Best Regent Ship Yet

Beautiful new ship with huge public spaces. I can imagine easily doing a world cruise on this ship. We were originally in a G2, but our TA boarded the ship before us and thought we would not be happy with that category. We usually o the basic suites on Navigator, voyager, and Mariner, but we do find the Mariner ones a little small. The G2 was listed as one square foot larger than the basic ...

We chose this cruise for it's unique Maiden Voyage and our 15th on Regent/ Raddison. Additionally, the itinerary was superb as we visited 8 ports not visited on any other cruise we completed. Additionally, this is the 2ne Regent cruise we started in Monte Carlo and ended with a sail into Venice The ship is exquisite inside and out with very modern and deluxe common areas, bars, and ...

We have been loyal Regent cruisers for more than ten years and were very excited when reading about the new Regent Explorer. The ship is, indeed, spectacular. The design is unique and elegant in all regards. Fabulous wide, winding staircases allow for open views of numerous public areas. We found the staff overall to be up to the normal Regent standards. I am always amazed when a server ...

I know this is over a year writing this review but it is something that still annoys me .went as a party of 6 to experience the new explorer .The ship did not disappoint staff were really helpful and the staterooms were top of the range and the beds were the most comfortable i have slept in. unfortunately the 2nd day my sister slipped off the steps on the tour bus and was in a lot of pain. ...
