This was my first cruise with RCI and for those who say to make a good impression RCI did anything but. I will admit I am on the younger side of adult hood but that doesn't mean I shouldn't be taken any less seriously especially if I am a paying costumer. Lets start with the good things. I loved the service from the staff in the MDR. They were always willing to go the extra mile to ensure I had a ...
We were celebrating a 40th wedding anniversary, 60th birthday and an engagement. We had 11 family members from 3 different locations coming together for this cruise.
December 30th. We boarded the ship and was advised to head up to the pool bar to get a drink and relax until the buffet was open and our cabins were ready. Upon getting to the pool bar, there was only 1 bartender, and her attitude ...
Embarking
Boarding was smooth, efficient and pleasant experience. I boarded at noon and was sent with my carry on luggage to the Windjammer for lunch. At one I went to my room to drop off my luggage.
First impressions..T
The first room(3645) was a good size with two comfy chairs to read in. Alas the room had not been thoroughly cleaned, as there was "solid matter" in the toilet from ...
First let me say that my wife and I are not active cruisers, having taken fewer than 8 in our 50 years together. We prefer to plan our own trips and see things on our own. We chose the Baltic cruise on RCI because of the 3 days in St. Petersburg and we didn't want to try Russia on our own. It was a mistake we will not make again. If we ever cruise again, it will not be with RCI.

After some amazing cruises with TUI and Royal Caribbean, we chose to do the Norwegian Fjords primarily for the scenery. Sad to say Gerainger aside we didn’t see too much of the Fjords and spent a lot of time on choppy sea. Trips further into the Fjords were available but at a price.
The ship wasn’t clean at all. Many windows were filthy, and some of the public areas were extremely dusty. We ate ...
We chose this itinerary because of the ports, and were excited to try Royal Caribbean again after quite a few years. Serenade of the seas was outdated, boring, lack of good entertainment and activities. Food in the the Windjammer was terrible. Main dining room was mediocre at best, the waitstaff was excellent though, all the crew were excellent, no complaints on that aspect.
No Caribbean music ...
The Serenade of the Seas had the worst food that I have had on my 8 cruises. During the day, the Park Café was mediocre with mini quesadillas being the best thing on the menu. At night, the available food was cut in half and the Panini sandwiches were heated using a microwave. No one could tell us way the Panini Press could not be used at night. The cakes and cookies at the Park Café were always ...
Starting with my first Royal Caribbean Cruise 15yrs ago, then multiple Carnival Cruises after that, we decided to choose Royal Caribbean again because of how much we enjoyed the first one. After 5 Cruises prior to this one in 2018, I’d consider myself experienced and because of that, I have realistic expectations of what a Cruise should entail.
Well, unfortunately this one was the WORST ship ...
Having sailed with RCCL many times I expected a great cruise on a grrat ship. Sailed out of Copenhagen. The Seranade of the Seas is in dire need of extensuve updating and repairs. Windows in the Safari Club lounge haf 1" of water between the panes. It had formed into algae. Water leaking in windows in the Windjammer. Casino tobacco smoke was not ventilated properly spilling in to public areas. ...
We cruised the baltic sea in July. The ship was a little disappointing in regards to the food availability, especially from 20 yrs ago. First, no midnight buffet. Second, No food available after midnight - we would go to see a movie that finished at midnight, but unable to get a snack after unless you wanted to pay room service. Third, the other food service areas did not have a place just to ...
