Destinations were beautiful. I think Aruba and St Lucia were our favorites with beautiful beaches. The crew couldn't have been better, service was outstanding. Our server in the main dining room, Rody was the best and her assistant Savio couldn't have been more attentive. Jason our bar server was the best always had us laughing..an awesome personality.. Herbert in the Windjammer always had a smile and friendly greeting. Our captain was top notch and very personable. Carly, the cruise director was one of the best. We dined in the main dining room every night and couldn't complain about anything. The entertainment was good for the most part. We thoroughly enjoyed the music of Island Vibz...very lovely young men.The 70s Disco night party was a lot of fun. We were very lucky to have great weather throughout our cruise. Nice coming home with a tan. We will definitely take this cruise again in the not too distant future. Read Less

The ship is large enough to find things to do. The pool deck get a little crowded but that's to be expected. The gym was quite good so that was a big plus. The cabins are a little outdated. We found ours to be super dusty. The dining was a really big disappointment as it's one of the things you look forward to on cruises, there were not many options and the meals become repetitive. They aren't many healthy options either. Everything was drenched in cheese or butter or sugar and salt. The ports were the highlight of the trip, this itinerary was quite good, too bad they cancelled St. Kitts three days before the cruise and replaced it with Martinique. I wouldn't really recommend this cruise to 25-40 year olds. We went as a couple and almost 75% of the people on board were over 55. The activities seemed to be really geared towards this crowd. SO I have been a long time cruiser for over 30 years. My wife and I book this cruise for a quick getaway. Four nights to Cozumel from Ft Lauderdale. Boarding quick and easy, just have your paperwork done. Less then 5 minutes we were on Board. The ship being older but RCCL says it just came out of dry dock. I m not sure what was done but there are signs of wear and tear. Hot tub did not work the entire cruise.Dis appointing as I like to use it in the mornings. Our room was the biggest let down,we were on deck 7 balcony. Open the door and what do you see is a roof from deck 6,which covers the rescue boats. When you sit on the balcony you see a roof and the handrail. Looking down did not exist. We asked for a room change and was given the runaround by the member services. Not pleased with them at all.Our room was very clean (Danny) did a great job. Food is adequate ,serving portion are good. Nice variety on the menus. We did eat at Giovanni's , great service, very good Italian food. Entertainment was just so-so a juggler was good but I found it to be a bit boring for a headliner. Dancers were in need of rehearsal ( new crew is what I heard). The casino was poor, couple of tables, oldest slot machines I have ever seen. SMOKE, and dealers did many errors on the roulette tables. On a scale from one to ten...about a 6.5 is about right. Would I go again? Maybe. But not on deck 7 ! Read Less

This cruise seemed interesting as I have wanted to visit Halifax for years. Hoping to see fall color as well as interesting ports of call we chose this itinerary. We have sailed on Serenade of the Seas before and liked the layout and amenities the ship has to offer. Our cabin was kept spotless by our stateroom attendant and the Deck 8 location was ideal for us. Food at Windjammer has improved a lot since we last sailed on Serenade, dining room has gone down a notch or two, however. Shore excursions were all handled well and seemed to be a bargain. On the Acadia National Park excursion we had a lunch of lobster, mussels, potatoes, corn, bread and blueberry cake. All were yummy. It was great fun to explore the reversing rapids and the City Market at St John, New Brunswick. The thick and creamy seafood chowder was such a great addition to the tour. The last day on shore we took a tour called Best of Halifax which included a visit to the Citadel, the Museum of the Atlantic with a Titanic exhibit, a wonderful lobster roll lunch with great apple crisp and the beautiful lighthouse and postcard perfect village of Peggy's Cove. The cruise seemed to give me some bang for my buck. Such a wonderful way to celebrate the end of summer! Read Less

One of the worst cruises with Royal we have been on. The food was terrible including Giovanni's. The food service in general on the entire ship was bad. Room service was a hit or miss, that is only the continental breakfast. One day they were over an hour late but we had to leave, another day they only got half of the order.... The cabin was worn looking also, furniture has seen better days. The bathroom had rust in the shower and around the sink. The chrome was worn on the faucet. The carpet and furniture were torn in a couple of spots. The window also had rust and blistering paint. The excursion organization was non-existent. Overall we were NOT happy with this ship or most of the crew. Royal has changed since we last cruised 2 years ago and not for the better. Sorry to say but we are seriously thinking of switching cruises line for an already booked cruise on Liberty because it was that bad and we are very easygoing people not picky but we are paying for a vacation that should be better than this. I'm usually a fan of Royal Caribbean and have had two previous cruises with them that I would rate as excellent, but this one wasn't. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary and I had pre-booked an ultimate anniversary package, only to find that after I got on the ship it had been cancelled by Royal Caribbean without any notice to me. Then when I tried to re-book it, I was told that they don't carry the items on the ship and therefore couldn't provide it. Instead they offered the minimal. Hugely disappointed. Activities on the ship - not varied enough and fairly standard. Talent on the ship - below even cruise performers. No-one was notable and none of the performances were very inspired. Ports of call - okay, but not much variety in the shore excursions between each of the ports. Got "excursioned out" because the lack of variety. And too cold to hit the pool on the days of sailing. The main reason I (we) chose this cruise was because of the venue - fall colors. Although the colors had not yet peaked, the colors were turning and were quite beautiful It's all about timing (and luck). We were just a little too early to get the full advantage of the fall colors. But the venues were great - Hallifax, Portland, Bar Harbor and Boston - all great stops. Having sailed many time of Celebrity, I did see some difference in what was supplied in the staterooms. On Celebrity I always got shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. This did not happen on the RC cruise. We only got shampoo and we had to ask for additional bars of soap half way into the cruise. The crew on the ship were fantastic - very pleasant and helpful. We are looking forward to our cruise in February on the Serenade of the Seas to the Caribbean. Read Less

The couch in room was worn out to thread baren. Tours were very expensive and little to do in ports without tour. Food was uneatable! No table space in windjammer. Food cold and bad! Don't go. Overall the food was below par.ln the main dining room to add to the poor food we had a table of ten with one server and one backup.i felt the staff were trying their best but throughout the ship there was a noticible lack of staff. I had to chase a cocktail on more than one occasion. The room staff consisted of one young man doing his best. I felt that the cruise line was only interested in their bottom line but at the expense of the passenger . Overall a very poor cruise. Would not recommend it to my worst enemy, Read Less

We had a wonderful time on this cruise. We did not participate in every event as we don’t like to be over programmed. So, here is what we did find: The food overall was very good. The Windjammer buffet restaurant was always busy for breakfast and on the day of the first shore excursion, there was a huge backup. Their food was good. The one day we tried Room Service was a travesty because everyone else tried it that day due to a 6:30 am shore excursion. However, we really enjoyed dinners in Reflections, the main dining room. The food was very tasty- not an unusual selection if that is important to you. Our waiter and the asst. waiter were very attentive and had a great sense of humor. We tried Giavannis (sp?). The quality of the food was not worth the extra price. However, we got a wider range of more expensive options at Giavannis. The last nights Chef’s dance was a riot. The entertainment was incredible. Topi, the cruise director, was extremely talented (comedien, dancer and singer). We would sign up for another cruise just based on his being there. The other entertainers were very talented and we enjoyed each show. We couldn’t stay awake for the late night entertainment each evening but the one we did attend was energetic, fun and humorous. There was a wide range of shipboard activities. We enjoyed the dancing lessons, the various contests and last night’s presentations. There was bingo, the marriage game, a few lectures, and more – you could have been busy from the time you got up until you go to sleep. We only went on 2 of the St. Petersburg shore excursions (see the end of this review). They were mediocre. Our goal was to explore the cities on our own and that worked for us. However, it does take more planning and the willingness to get lost. Read Less

We've chosen this cruise for the ports of call - Baltic cities, specially Saint Petersburg and we were limited with the departure dates. 7 Night Scandinavia and Russia cruise fitted perfectly and we were not sorry. We made perfect choice. The ship is not recent but you don't see this. She is elegant, clean, well equipped. The crew members were helpful, present but descreet. Food is excellent - choice and quality. We were having diners in the main dining room and Windhjamer caffe.Windjhamer caffe can get crowded for the breakfast when ship arrives early at the ports. We had a cabin with the balcony at the 7th deck. It was not very modern, but very specious, clean(twice a day - interesting folded towels every night - nice touch!!) and well equipped, bathroom with a shower as well. There was a wide choice of shore excursions, but we only took 1,5 day + half day excursion in Saint Petersburg and the local guide was excellent. The rest of the cities we explored on our own, since they were much smaller. Very nice first cruise experience that gave us envy to do it again in the very near future. Read Less

We just returned last night from a wonderful visit to some excellent ports. We chose this itinerary because it stayed overnight in St Petersburg and included Riga. Every port was charming, and St. Petersburg is definitely worth the two days. Helsinki - we took an overall city tour through RC. Good information and time for shopping. We chose to return with the bus, but could have stayed longer and returned by shuttle. St. Petersburg - we chose a 2 day private tour through Best Guides. Fabulous and worth every penny! Our guide, Kirill, was excellent and graciously answered our questions. You can definitely spend more time in SPB. Tallin - we walked into town on our own. Easy to find and absolutely lovely! We climbed the 234 steps to the church tower - fabulous view, but be careful on the steps! Riga - a nice surprise. We chose a city highlights tour (I won it!) and enjoyed the day. We had a bus tour, walking tour, and concert in the cathedral. The Serenade was familiar since we have been on the identical Brilliance. The food was excellent. HOWEVER, our My Time Dining was a disaster, and not just for us. They allow people to reserve not just a time, but a table which caused many of us to have to wait hours to get in. Even when we made a reservation, people who walked in ahead of us in line were seated first! Very disappointing, so we ate three nights in the Windjammer. The food was just as good - my favorite dessert of the cruise was their apple pie! The entertainment and music were very good. We enjoyed the variety of musicians and acts throughout the day and at the shows. The cruise director himself is quite talented! As far as service, the cabin attendants, dining staff, and room service staff were friendly and helpful. We encountered a rude woman at guest services, but that's really all. We would go back to RC for the itinerary, but don't see other advantages to us over our status with Carnival. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the itinerary since we'd heard from multiple people that a Baltic cruise was a "must do". While we were very impressed with the ports of call, the ship left something to be desired. We had read that the boat had recently been remodeled and you could tell that it had a minimal face lift - new carpet and artwork. The boat itself was very clean and the service was great, but that's the extent of nice things i can say about the boat itself - This cruise felt like a constant quest for RC to get as much money from you as possible - There were hardly any activities on board that didn't come at an additional cost. In the dining room, every menu came with "up charge" items and we were even told that we couldn't have breakfast in the dining room one morning because they were doing a brunch that was an additional $35. We ate in Chops Grille the last night of the cruise because of a good experience we had on another cruise and we were very disappointing. Our service was better in the main dining room and my husband had to send back his steak twice and it was still not correct. We wont be going back to chops again. The windjammer was pretty terrible as well. I was very surprised at the poor quality of the food on this cruise given the opposite experience we've had with RC on other cruises - we chalked it up to the fact that they were probably sourcing from different areas given the area of the world and had less selection. Room service is also no longer included outside of toast, coffee and pastries. Very dissapointed at how nickel and dimed we were given the cost of the cruise itself. Aside from the food - our service and experience was great. If i had to do it over again i would choose an itinerary that skipped Estonia and Latvia. Russia 2 day tour was fantastic but strenuous - be aware of that if you are not an active person. Finland Icebar tour way exceeded our expectations and ended up being a favorite. Estonia bike tours were a cluster. No organization, Not enough helmets, not enough warning for participants that you need to be a seasoned bike rider to do this tour. We were ok but lost 2 families along the way due to bike wrecks - the tour guides were not really keeping track of everyone either. Taste of Latvia tour was disappointing but cheap. Read Less

I chose this cruise for the itinerary: I wanted to visit these countries without committing to a two week stay in each of them. I found that this was perfect. We had one day at sea and this was also perfect! Just a quick note about port of Rostock: this ship berths down in the industrial sector, not in Warnemunde. The taxis are scant and it could've been a long wait if not for the good luck of the three groups ahead of us not having any cash :) We later found out that there are a couple of bus stops near where the ship berthed, about a 5 minute walk to either one. We took a bus back from the train station (we went to Schwerin) and saved about 35 euros. The bus only runs about once an hour from the train station but the timing was right for us. The food was great in the Reflections Dining room. I've read some reviews that the RC food quality was slipping or some such nonsense but I heartily disagree! We also took the ship's Klaipeda walk/hike the Curonium Spit excursion and it was a great value and one of my favorite days. All other ports were done on our own. Read Less

We choose this route because we wanted to visit the baltic and this was a perfect experience. The entertainment is fantastic the musicians are really good (all of them), dining experience is fantastic the only problem is when you want to have dinner because there hours which can be very busy. We took the St Petersbourgh shore excursion due to problems with visa, but they are very expensive so we rather walk or take the bus. Cleaning in the Windjammer could be better during lunch time. Very nice service in board, the barman were attentive and fast, the pool is nice but full of kids so we end up in the solarium (no kids). The ports of call were fantastic, and they give you enough time to visit without any problem. The only problem I found from shore excursions is they are very slow as some people are always complaining they have to walk. Read Less

On Shore excursion tours were all magnificent. Perhaps i´ve would have included another port to visit. What to get better: - Cabin window was smaller than the offered on reservation. - I´would´ve included complementary water for On Shore Excursion. - The Internet Speed connection was OK, but not great. Sometimes unavailable. Advise for the On Shore trail to the Pulpit Rock from Stavenger: This trail is hard for elderly people, and I believe it has to be strongly advise in advance. I saw people completely exhausted, two people injured (fell and hit on the face, one of them. The other fell and hit her waist against a rock), and there were few first aid assistance. Very nice trail, outstanding Sightseeing, but at least water & First-Aid assistance are advised. Otherwise, GREAT CRUISE Read Less

I felt Royal is trying to sell you something wherever you turn your head. First, room attendant tells me he doesn't provide toothpaste but I could buy at the ship's shop! Their enrichment activities are opportunity to sell you something, their seminar conclude by selling you on some stuff as well. And when there is nothing to sell, they encourage you to buy drinks from the bar at every organized event. The mos OUTRAGEOUS of all is water. You are provided with the very expensive Eivan water in your room. And every station has a sing saying refilling water bottles is not allowed for "health reason"! Health of their revenue line that is. However I enjoyed my time at this trip. You get used to the selling after day 2. Their waiters services was excellent, even though the food was not that good. There's plenty of food, it would be hard to go hungry. The nightly entertainment shows were very enjoyable. A lot of live music which is always nice. The port, Norwegian fjords, were very beautiful. Unfortunately for us, our day at Geiranger was foggy as hell we saw no views whatsoever. It sucked. But we were lucky on 2 other days and the views were breathtaking. Read Less

My wife and I had planned this cruise for 10 months and we were married in Copenhagen on the day of our cruise, fantastic adventure,I surprised my bride with a Jr. Suite that had been decorated by RCCL with a just married package,Suite number 1570,for anyone cruising this is the quietest room on the ship,we did not hear a peep for 10 days, just the ocean, plenty of room, clean ,a balcony and a bathtub with the shower for your lady,Amos our attendant always had a smile,I keep reading about the ship needing this and that, well, the ship is in amazing shape, sure it's older but you make your vacation good or bad right?,it's just the right size, service on the ship was excellent from guest relations to the dining room, plenty of variety in windjammer and main dining room, service in main dining room never took more than an hour and we chose my time dining which worked for us,for all the meals the chef has to produce in mass quantity we found the quality to be above average, all the people who say it lacked variety are just being picky and nothing would make them happy, the menu changed every night, the ports were fantastic and again you make your own happiness and satisfaction by seeing the good in everything and embracing new experiences,we did a bike ride in Estonia and a ballet in St. Petersberg and everything in between,so fun, entertainment was energetic and very professional,we went to a show every night they had one, singers and band had a lot of energy and the duo who did the magic and acrobatics were so very strong,we were able to meet the acts after the show and on the ship as we shopped that's how intimate the ship is,the staff tried very hard in every circumstance, they even let us go into the guest relations office to print our boarding passes for our departure flight, that's going above and beyond, yes the internet was slow so plan B is a great idea, embarkation was smooth as was disembarkation,we would recommend this cruise and we visited 7 countries 2 we had been to before, very port intensive so plan your excursions wisely to make use of your time! It looked like a good deal price-wise for the first cruise of the year to the Baltics. The food in the main dining room was pretty good in the evening except for the desserts. The next to last night they exceeded themselves with offerings of both Baked Alaska and Grand Marnier souffle. On the last night they offered a key lime pie which I passed on because and earlier offering was called the mile high lemon meringue. Turned out to be a dab of lemon in a pastry cup with a ball of meringue on top. The key lime pie though was the real thing. Entertainment was not Las Vegas style and most nights it was only a one or two person "show". Also many nights there was only one show. It was a fail on entertainment. Our cabin was kept spotless and was serviced at least 3 times a day. Food in the buffet was average with a fail again on the desserts there. The pastry chef does not seem capable of producing an edible blueberry muffin. On the other hand Royal continues to have the best bread at sea. Royal was extremely cheap with the orange juice and only filled the glasses halfway. The crew was the most international I have seen on any ship with 55-65 countries represented. Ports were generally good but in Riga the ship docked at a container loading area to save docking fees. As far as Klaipeda was concerned, I think a day a sea would have been better. Read Less

Wanted to see Baltic. This cruise did that very nicely. The Serenade still looks good and the design works well. Ship to get a refurb. soon to add some new paint and replace aging furniture. MDR was offered good food with great service. RCL tours were excellent. Room attendant and dining staff excellent. Diamond Lounge was overcrowded but staff there were great. Next Cruise was bad. Booked early and found prices dropped a lot later. Was told no dollars back but if I paid more I could upgrade. We learned that the upgrade took away our onboard credits. Won't book there again. Shows were very good. It was so cold (snow twice) that we never used the balcony. Tours in Russia were long walks but worth the effort. The ICBM site in Lithuania was a trip back in time. The history of the area remarkable when it comes from a local person. They saw war from Norway, Sweden, Czarist Russia, followed by Bolsheviks, then Nazi Germany, then more Russians followed by a devastating Soviet experience with collapse. Lots of poverty and excess but no real middle class. In Russia saw poverty and folks driving by in a new Lamborghini. Read Less

The good: Marie, our stateroom attendant, was phenomenal! So incredibly friendly and talkative. She genuinely seemed to care about us having a great cruise. She also kept our room immaculate! The head waiter (can't remember his name) was extremely friendly and helpful, always asking what he could do for us, and going above and beyond. The bad (prepare yourself, it's long): We noticed when next to other cruise ships, especially the Disney ship, that the level of service and maintenance was very sub-par on Royal Caribbean. For example, the Disney ship always had water ready with citrus slices, and available until just before leaving port. Our ship seemed to only do that once, and it was not available towards the end of our time in port when most people are returning to the ship tired and thirsty. We noticed how, as soon as the Disney ship was in port, maintenance was spraying down the windows, and their ship had no rust spots showing. A glaring difference from Royal Caribbean's incessantly dirty windows, and many rust spots. When next to Norwegian's ship, we noticed them touching up paint on areas where paint had chipped off as soon as they were in port. I cannot tell you how much the dirty windows and rust spots irritated me. I understand that windows get dirty, but they don't seem to have been cleaned even once while we were onboard. Not once. Our stateroom window, dining room window, and the windows in the pool area were ridiculously dirty. There are big rust spots all over the ship, but most noticeably in the wicker-furniture area right in front of the Windjammer. At floor level, there is a big rust spot on almost every outer hull support in that area. Does this ship not carry paint? Come on... In the Windjammer, service clearing tables was extremely slow. It seemed to be a lack of staff tasked with clearing tables. There would be a significant number of people roaming around looking for an empty table, but all of the unoccupied tables were dirty and filled with dishes. This was almost every time we ate there, breakfast lunch or dinner, unless we were there right when it opened. I felt that a significant number of the staff were not friendly. There were some amazing staff members, but some just appeared to be in a very bad mood. Some were almost rude. I often heard crewmembers talking in a derrogatory manner about their job, other passengers, etc. which should never happen within earshot of passengers. We noticed some disappointing differences between our last cruise with Royal Caribbean in 2011, and this cruise as well, as far as policy/amenity changes. In 2011, I think we also purchased an alcoholic (Deluxe, I believe) beverage package. We and multiple other passengers commented on how the selection of wines priced $12 and under (by the glass) that could be enjoyed with the Deluxe beverage package, was extremely lacking. I remember finding a reasonable selection in 2011, but was very disappointed this time. My favorite wine is Pinot Noir, and there were only 1-2 available within the drink package pricing, and I didn't care for either. I'm not a wine snob by any means, which really says something. Fortunately I fould a single red wine I liked, the "Jupiter" italian red blend. The one I REALLY wanted to try, the "Remole?" italian red blend, was unavailable. 2 red blends priced $12 or under, and the most enticing one is unavailable. WOW. Many restaurants will offer a better wine for no additional cost if they are out of the wine you want, but not Royal Caribbean! As a side note, I saw a "Diamond Plus" couple turned away (unless they wanted to pay full price) at Vintages, hearing them comment that this was their first cruise where they couldn't get any wines at Vintages as a perk of their Diamond Plus status. I also want to note that the selection of wines available within drink package pricing at Vintages was even worse than the main dining room! Why buy a drink package, especially the Deluxe package, whose selling point is the best selection, if the selection of wines within drink package pricing is so incredibly poor? Another disappointing difference was charging for room service. We heard that this is the first cruise since that policy change. We don't even tend to do room service, but that was a disappointing change stacked upon all the others. Another irritating change was in the menu of the main dining room. My wife and I both seem to remember the now "premium" selections didn't used to cost any more. We also remember that prime rib used to be one of the options that was always available. This was great, since there are nights when none of the other selections look good to me. Furthermore, I felt that the quality of the food itself in the main dining room has declined. Some things were amazing, and others I only ate in order to not waste food, and wishing we had gone to the Windjammer. I remember the food in the main dining room being amazing every night on our last cruise with Royal Caribbean. The debarking process was delayed, and lacked communication. They airport transfer process had a huge line that didn't move at all for about half an hour, and had ZERO communication as to what was going on, how long it would be, would we make our flight? We should have had PLENTY of time to not only make our flight, but to have a leisurely lunch at the airport. Nope... we got there barely in time for our flight. We would have been infinitely better off taking a taxi or private company shuttle instead of the Royal Caribbean airport transfer. I want to reiterate how we were very disappointed with the Serenade of the Seas' lack of maintenance, window cleaning (especially in a Radiance class ship where the selling point is more windows and natural light...), and level of service/amenities. In all, we still had a wonderful vacation, but we may never choose Royal Caribbean again. Our previous cruise on the Freedom of the Seas did not leave us with a bad impression of Royal Caribbean, but this one sure did. We have the ability to take more vacations like this now, and we plan to cruise every couple years from now on. However, Royal Caribbean is not likely to see us again after the negative things that detracted from our experience this time. It seems like Royal Caribbean has an overall lack of caring for the ship, about the passengers, and a lack of trying. It also seems that the policy changes seem to all be about getting more money out of the passengers, or cutting costs... all about the bottom line instead of providing the best experience possible. As a side note, the port of St. Croix could be removed from all itineraries in favor of a better port. While we had a great time at Rhythms at Rainbow Beach, this port is a sorry example of the USA. I feel bad for the people that live there. Ridiculously poor road conditions, the excursions don't seem very enticing, the shopping is almost nonexistent, and the port city itself is in very poor condition as well. The people are incredibly friendly, but it wasn't enough to make this a good port. Side, side note... In the Windjammer on several occasions, there was no silverware to be found! Read Less

My wife and I live in upstate NY and have been on 10 previous cruises. We traveled with my daughter who lives North Carolinia . I have read some very negative reviews of this ship and want to give our account of this 10 day cruise. Embarkation was fine we arrived at the ship and were dropped off about 11:30 placed in the gold member line and went right on to ship. We had booked an inside room 7575 , the room was fine well kept , no issues with furniture , barhroom clean and neat and bed was fine. Room Stewart keep room clean and neat and different towel animals every night . We purchased the five night dinner package The 1st night we at at chops steak and chicken meals were excellent . My wife and daughter wanted a different type of bread then they serving , the staff went to the main dining room to get it for them . Service was very good . We had breakfast each morning at windjammer the food was good , fresh fruit , eggs, pasteries, variety of breads and a good assortment of breakfast foods. New any issues finding a table or clean silverware. A table with coffee and tea was set up when you 1st entered the windjammer if you wanted and on 5 of ten day waiting at the table I was asked if I wanted coffee or tea. Lunch we had at the windjammer and the main dining room , a carving station was set up each day for lunch and regular lunch items were available . I am sure what customers are expecting the food for lunch was ok no issues , ice cream Machine was operational everyday and seemed like everyone was having ice cream. On Easter Sunday the windjammer served Lobster for lunch I have newer seen this before. As I stated before we had purchased the 5 night dinner package 3 nights in Chops and 2 nights in Giovanni's all meals we excellent in Giovanni,s the lamb chops are excellent . A fellow cruiser went to Giovanni's 5 times most for the lamb chops. In Chops I had the upgraded steak for an additional charge of $19.00 one of the best steaks I have ever had. The rest of our meals were my time dining , Made reservations on line before we arrived on ship did not have to wait on any night. Meals were good and every night a supervisor would check with our table to assure our meal was good , if we wanted something more he would bring it to us . Staff was excellent . Main show entertainment was a little disappointing usually it is very good compared to Norwegian this time it was a little disappointing . Kevin in the pub made up for it a lot he was excellent. Used the casino it was fine staff was taking out and replacing some machines . Noticed the casino being very quiet as far as volume of guests compared to other cruises we have been on . The ship is an older smaller ship and need a little work , the staff is cleaning every day and the ship looks and feels clean. The schooner bar area has a very nice feel and open areas. Did not feel confined on this ship at all. My wife had an issue in our room with a hair dryer , reported it to guest services and the staff was nothing but excellent with there customer service . Called everyday to make sure everything was ok . I have read some horrible reviews on this ship . I was getting nervous to board after reading some reviews . It's a smaller ship with great customer service you will not be disappointed. We used the mobile app at port to disembark, it we very easy and I would recommend it's called mobile passport. Read Less

Our itinerary was very enjoyable with 5 ports nestled between two days at the beginning and two at the end in which to rest up and relax. Coordinating with various local touring companies provided exciting and enjoyable experiences such as biking, hiking, touring, snorkeling and kayaking. The clean and comfortable Windjammer always had a variety of palette pleasing choices with readily helpful staff. The dining experience was a mixed bag. The wait staff was impeccably professional and attentive, but the host staff often seemed overwhelmed and confused. Even with reservations, our table was rarely available and we were seated in a variety of places. Poor Robet and Ketut had to keep waiting on us in a variety of places. Both the piano bar as well as the guitar pub were reliably entertaining. Our room service was prompt and polite as well as very tidy. We didn't travel with children. We would definitely return to this cruise ship. Read Less

We choose this cruise because it offered all the ports of call that we were interested in visiting. The length of the cruise was great and the service was excellent. The ship was keep very clean and the staff make sure you are very satisfied and relaxed. They cannot seem to do enough for you. The food was great and there was always a good variety in the Windjammer. The shows were great. There was always good entertainment for all ages. The pool area was keep clean and there was always an attendant there is case you needed anything. Towels were always on hand. It was too bad there wasn't a better choice of food after 9 PM though. Over all for the age of the ship it is kept in great shape. Not much shopping on board. Lots of photos. Our cabin was kept very clean. Also the embarkation and disembarkation I thought was very organized. Great trip and we would travel on the Serenade of the Seas again. Read Less

We chose this ship and cruise because of the prior experience and the personnel on the ship We were able to have the same waiters as on previous trips and many recognized us from our previous cruise. The entertainment was fantastic with a good variety. Our cabin well maintained and our steward "Sheredon" does an excellent job. Visit to the dining room surprised our prior waiters "Kevin & Max". Kevin & Osden were our waiters this time and what an nice asset to the cruise line industry. The Executive Chef :Benedict Capriata" stopped by to see how satisfied we were with the food provided. This does not normally happen and what a nice treat. The Head Waiter : Mihal Oprea is real people pleaser and always upbeat and friendly. In the Windjammer our waitress "Mengol Lee" made this restaurant a dining pleasure. Made friends with many of the staff and met fellow cruisers to vacation with. Read Less

Don't stay in the cabin above the Safari room!!! The noise cascades up-words and vibrates the room floor and bed until very late!! The ship is fun and the staff great, but the rooms at the aft of the ship on deck 7 are very noisy. We are very disappointed in RCCL and may now see what other cruise line offer. The staff was great, including dining room and cabin attendant. Cruise director was fun and the entertainment was good as always. Ports of call were fun. We recommend the river tubing in Dominica. Also the amazing race on St. Martin was great too. It was a great way to see the town and learn about the history. The roads on the islands are scary, but your not in Kansas anymore! I hope we can find great excursions on other cruise lines. We love cruising in the Caribbean warm weather. Read Less
