"The next stop was Colon Panama for an excursion to go through the Gatun locks on the Pacific side plus a ride back to the ship across the isthmus on the bus.A moving performance by a young lady on staff of our national anthem as well as other music and a poem which Cruise Director Jeff asked me to read made that a day to remember all those firefighters, soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen as well as first responders and police...."Read More

Overall Alright Cruise

I went with my cousin on this cruise from LA to Miami via the Panama Canal. Overall, it was fine, but definitely not the caliber of cruises I had taken in the past (pre-pandemic) with RCC. My opinions are as follows: Cabin: We had a junior suite, mid-ship, that met my expectation for space and comfort. The beds were very comfortable and the veranda had a lounger, which was nice to relax in. The ...

I would recommend this ship for primarily adults. Not enough activities for children. However the service was excellent. This ship isn't that big, but it is comfortable. The fitness room had updated equipment for those who like to work out, while on vacation. They didn't have updated weights, but they did have cable machines. They had most of the common used machines you would find in the gym. ...

I chose this cruise because it was leaving from Tampa and because of itinerary. Serenade of the Seas needs to be dry docked and refurbished! The staterooms are OLD and worn out. No shampoo or bars of soap for shower. Only liquid soap dispenser marked Shampoo AND Body Wash No Wifi except for the Royal Caribbean app and even that was inconsistent. Internet was available for $24.99 a ...

My sister and her hubby had chosen this cruise over a year ago and we thought it would be fun to join them for the 10 days. Our mom had passed in November and this was a way of celebrating her life. She loved cruising and margaritas so we signed up for the trip. We left our east coast Florida home on the 17th and spent the night in Ybor city about 3 miles from the cruise terminal. We chose ...

This is a review of the repositioning cruise of the Serenade of Seas sailing from Los Angeles to Miami through the Panama Canal. The Serenade started sailing again in the summer of 2021 in Alaska. The crew boarded in late June, quarantined on the ship and started sailing in Mid-July from Seattle to Alaska and back in one-week cruises. On September 25, all guests departed the ship and the ...

I've never been involved in cruise ship work nor management, but I have some experience in entertainment and hospitality, and a lot of ship operations experience. Based upon those and other experiences I think I know things that some people whose occupation is managing cruise ships don't realize. The income and lives of many people depend upon the continuity of cruise ship operations. If I ...

The March 2nd sailing of the Serenade of the Seas was the first back to back cruise we had ever had the pleasure of taking. The first leg of our adventure started on the Serenade on the February 21st sailing. We had no idea what a B2B was when we first saw the term on our roll call. After discovering that people really did do a cruise, stay on the ship and do another one we knew it was ...

Awesome Ports, But......

We chose this itinerary because of the wonderful ports and 4 days at sea, which we really enjoy. The weather was magnificent! Lots of “older citizens” on this trip! Wow! Many are demanding and quite cheap! Another issue is that the staff does not enforce the rule of not holding lounge chairs around the pool. If you want a chair, you need to get up before 7:00 am and go put your towels on a chair. ...

We sailed January 20th on a 10 day southern Caribbean cruise with stops in Costa Rico,Colon.Panama,Cartagena, Aruba, Curacao but missed Costa Rico due to medical emergency. This was one of my most enjoyable trips getting to experience the Panama Canal locks, carriage ride through old Cartagena, quiet shopping day plus lunch at Lucy’s in Aruba then relaxing day in Curacao. We stayed in a balcony ...
