Overall, the staff was genial and helpful
My room steward was excellent, well trained and responsive.

We chose this as our bucket list cruise around the world. First the two items that were positive about this cruise:
1.The cabin stewards and the personnel in the Horizon Cafe were terrific when it came to service
2.The Horizon Cafe Buffet had a great selection of food which was well prepared and had a tremendous variety.

Chose the Ft. Lauderdale to Fort Lauderdale world cruise for the excellent scheduled itinerary. Was a bit concerned about the reconfiguration of the ship that replaced the aft lounge with additional cabins. Also concerned about general age and condition of ship based on reviews.

A World Cruise (WC) was on my bucket list and Princess is our preferred Cruise Line (4 of us). This was NOT a cruise I would repeat nor recommend. The Island Princess is old and needs A LOT of repairs - rust, mildew, mold, water leaks, cabin entry doors not opening and more. We did a 119 night World Cruise, don't know why the menu here in CC says its only 50 nights. MSC delivers a lot of bang for your buck, though not everything was perfect. But the itinerary and the dining were awesome, although strangely the famous Kaito-sushi restaurant was closed during the whole trip. Dining rooms had repetitive menus for five months, the two specialty restaurants Prime 7 & Chartreuse never changed the menus. All dining rooms were chronically understaffed which meant long waits for food to be taken and then dishes cleared. We booked our World Cruise while on Antartica cruise 2020 on the Coral Princess. We had such a good time we decided to book the World Cruise 2021. The cruise was pushed to 2023 due to covid. The internet was terrible and expensive. We had to get several visas, but few were actually needed. For example, we had to have a visa to South Korea to board the ship, but later we found that no one needed a visa to SK. MSC will not give me a refund for the unnecessary visa. We purchased a Neptune suite in the rear corner, so we had good all-round views and a large veranda. The only thing that was good about this expensive cruise were the workers on board. Very good people.
