Star Princess to Alaska from Seattle and back

Review for Star Princess to Alaska

My very first cruise. It was very nice and a non-party animal atmosphere, adult oriented. Great food; Pretty good entertainment; Great staff and service; Gorgeous views and nice port stops. Highly recommended. I am a vegetarian. The main dining room options were limited, But once the Head Waiter heard of my dissatisfaction, he jumped in and made sure that I had plenty of wonderful options. ...

Princess makes you feel important the entire time your on board. You feel safe and secure knowing that they have your best interests in mind on and off the ship. 5 star service. Huge assortment of food and drink and it’s GOOD food made from someone who cares not from a frozen box. Lobster, great steaks, seafood galore something for everyone guaranteed. Cleanliness is impeccable!! The staterooms ...

Amazing Alaska Cruise!!!!

We primarily chose Princess because of the ease of sailing with them and the knowledge that we would at least have decent food. Last year we sailed on a competitor's line and my bed was hard and the food was not good. We came back to Princess knowing it might not be one of those huge ships with all the activities but maybe we didn't need all that. It turns out good food and a comfortable bed made ...

On board: the room, balcony, was adequate; food also adequate, however, if pastry is your thing you will not find a decent croissant on Princess; flour to fat ratio all wrong. The room attendant was very friendly and helpful. In fact the entire staff was very well trained, helpful and friendly, with the exclusion of one surly female at the spa reception desk. On board lectures limited. ...

Very organized cruise from embarkation, room set up, port stops and disembarkation. The Captain had a wonderful sense of humor and his announcements were fun to listen to. Great menu and service in the Main Dining room. Crooners bar was our favorite for a cocktail. It seems like the prices for drinks continually rise. We don’t drink enough to warrant the beverage package. The bars were ...

Another excellent Princess cruise to Alaska

My wife and I have been to Alaska before and we like Princess Cruise Line, so for our 43rd Anniversary and her 71st birthday, all within the week we were at sea, we decided to go again. This time, we decided to go on the Star Princess and it was an excellent choice. My wife is handicapped and it's very hard for her to walk, and the Princess Cruise Lines associates were very accommodating. They had ...

Disappointed in the Star Princess

Dates, price, and ports were desirable. We've traveled with Princess on an Alaskan cruise and I based my good prior experience on booking with Princess again. However, I was disappointed in how old and poorly maintained the Star has become. The overall feel of the ship is "aged". Our stateroom smelled of urine upon arrival and unfortunately that never faded throughout the week! The staff was ...

We started our cruise from Seattle, staying overnight at the DoubleTree hotel at Seattle, booked through Princess Cruises. I would recommend this hotel prior to a cruise. Part of the booking the hotel was the Transfer from the airport to the hotel and Hotel to the ship. The embarkation was very fast of the ship through checking and security on board in 20 minutes from getting of the coach. ...

Fantastic 1st cruise

It was arranged by a local bus tour company and it was a dream of mine. My husband and I decided that life is too short to sit around waiting for the lottery. The ship was awesome and our cabin was comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The dining was an experience in different tastes and an awesome and overwhelming journey. It was prepared well and it allowed us ...

It was great but not as good other experiences with Princess.

Overall a nice experience. Great cabin, balcony was well used and steward was perfect. Food was not up to other Princess ships I've been on but service was wonderful. I should clarify, Horizon Court Buffet at times reminded me of college dorm fare. Shows were very good. The most annoying thing was the constant announcements of sales. Yes, they have to make a profit but sometimes it's the little ...
