Having done quite a few princess cruises, the Ruby is one of our favorite ships. The size is perfect; the large theatre can hold everyone if they do two shows ( which they typically do). Round trip out of Seattle, didn't have to fly.
Ship is a bit tired but it was clean. Crew was friendly and helpful. Buffet was a zoo so didn't use it, Very crowded and didn't find anything appetizing.
Dinner in main dining room was good as was breakfast and lunch. Two diners in the Crown Grill were excellent. International Cafe was very good as was Vines.

Watch you tube reviews of different ships before making your choice. Cruising costs a good chunk, but it should be well worth it. Alaska and it's ports were well worth it. However, ship staff, buffet, anytime dining, staterooms and staff helpful/friendliness fell flat.
