Great soft product, mediocre hard product

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ruby Princess

My wife have always wanted to visit Alaska by a cruise ship. So it was between Princess and Holland America as they offered the most itineraries with Glacier Bay. Holland America's Eurodam had a very similar itinerary as our Ruby Princess and almost chose that over the Ruby. The service aboard Ruby was very good. Room steward was excellent. Our mini-suite cabin was more than spacious for 2 ...

Mixed, but overall good.

They main thing I want to point out is that this ship is dated and it mostly shows in the cabins. The buffet food was marginal, but hey, there is only so much you can do with the buffet food. Main dining was hit or miss, but mostly hit - especially the desserts. The Curtis Stone Share was a neat experience, but could have been better if staff didn't keep mixing up our dishes. The ...

Singing the Praises of Club Class

Booking a Club Class Mini Suite entitled us to priority embarkation - the process could not have been quicker or smoother. We had both red and white wine (half bottle of each) in our room on arrival, canapes on request, and the cabin was superior in both comfort and layout (see cabin review below for more detail). The ship was easy to navigate and never seemed crowded, even in the most public ...

Nice cruise

Overall, it was a nice cruise. Phone reps were fairly knowledgeable and helpful. Had a couple of issues that needed to be resolved and unfortunately, management fell short. The two that I spoke to were rude and very short with me, so be aware, problems will NOT be resolved. You will leave feeling very unimportant. The cruise itself was very nice. The dinners were wonderful. Got to try many ...

We departed from Seattle. Right from check in of baggage to embarkation, was a breeze. Ship was really clean and well maintained throughout the cruise. We were a group of 23 including kids. All of them enjoyed the cruise. My friends balcony rooms were nice. Even my stateroom with Ocean View was good. I would say for four it was spacious. They always kept the rooms very clean. Also the aisles ...

Pre-Cruise We flew out of DAL the day before the cruise on Southwest. There were four adults in our party with plenty of luggage so when we got to the taxi stand we asked the young man there if he could get us a minivan taxi and he got us one immediately. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Downtown......close enough to Pike Place Market so we could walk there the next morning. We ...

An Alaskan cruise was always on our bucket list, and decided to go for our 30th Anniversary We invited any friends and family that were interested in going and ended up with a group of 13. Of that group 7 were first time cruisers. They all absolutely loved it. Those of us that had something to compare it to were a bit disappointed. We’ve always looked forward to the entertainment at night, and ...

My sister and I decided we needed to visit Alaska and thought a cruise would be the best place to start. Based on other recommendations, we chose Princess cruise line and we had a great time. There were times where we really didn't know what to expect, but that's sometimes fun when on vacation. Princess staff takes care of the details and we just went with the flow. We made sure to get a ...

Beautiful Alaska

I chose this cruise based on the itinerary, I really wanted to go to Glacier Bay, and having sailed and enjoyed Princess before it seemed like a no brainer. We went into Seattle a day early so we could see the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens, and they were both worth the trip. We also had dinner in Seattle at Zeeke's pizza and it was awesome. I knew the Ruby had been renovated late last year, ...

Third cruise but first time in Alaska. We selected this cruise for the itinerary. Our group was large and multi-generational (ranging from seniors to toddlers), with a variety of room types. STATEROOM - Excellent Our first time splurging on a mini-suite with balcony and we found it worth the price, particularly for sailing in Alaska (spectacular views all day - we saw whales and seals from ...
