Excellent service, not excellent ship
"Even with some things going wrong, we found it easy to have a great time and enjoy our cruise. It seemed like every night before the next day's port the poor captain would have to announce that something (like weather) had caused us to go even slower than expected and we would have an even shorter time in port; enough so that they compensated us a second time with more on-board spending...."Read More

A Cheapskate Tries a Repositioning Cruise

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Crown Princess

What year is this cruise? People are eating rice pilaf and drinking Blue Hawaiians, the comedian’s routine is shockingly racist, and the big musical revue is a nearly all-white salute to Motown. I halfway expected to run into cigarette machine. I am old, but Gen Z: I was appalled on your behalf. The fact that the buffet has a vegan section and there’s a nightly LGBTQ meet-up reminded me it was ...

1. Issues you are probably wondering about: a) Noise/shaking in the aft-Yes, there was a bit of shaking, but we hardly noticed it. Our cabin, however, was forward. So, I do recommend a forward/mid-forward cabin until she dry docks in Oct. 2022. No, the shaking or rattle is not constant and did not affect our cruise. We ate in Da Vinci dining room (midship) and also did not feel any rattle 99% of ...

Princess is Cutting Corners

We're long-term Princess cruisers, with 20+ cruises and enough days to usually get us invited to the frequent travelers lunch, always good. We still like Princess, but our last two experiences have been less than ideal. We had a cruise scheduled over Thanksgiving 2021, booked six months in advance, with our son and daughter-in-law and a one-year old. Princess cancelled our booking with one ...

Better than we expected

Prior to boarding the ship, I had several concerns about the Crown Princess, sailing to Alaska. The Crown has propulsion issues and cannot get to appropriate speed. Several previous passengers had given me the good, the bad and the ugly regarding their experiences. While I STILL feel Princess should have been upfront about the known issues BEFORE final payment, I can now share my ...

A lot of time on the ship

The Crown Princess has been having mechanical issues all of the Alaska sailing season. Time in port was greatly reduced or eliminated. Princess cruise line is fantastic but I would avoid this ship for the time being. The only full day in port was at Skagway which was wonderful. I went to the Kroschel Wildlife Center and it was a fantastic experience. You were very close to all the animals and ...

Family cruise to Alaska

After the covid lockdown, it’s time for an enjoyable family vacation. Crown Princess brought our family on a 7-day cruise Inside the Passage to Alaska with 3 ports stop (Juneau, Skagway, and Victoria, Canada) including Glacier Bay National Park. Embarking Embarking was chaos. We went through the tedious manual process. The medallion app was not able to ease our boarding. The team was ...

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

This was our first time cruising. My daughter graduated college so we decided to make a family vacation out of it. We had 11 people with us and we where all excited to see Alaska and spend time together. We got lots of together time as we where booked to have 4 stops and only really had 2 due to ship engine maintenance. It was disappointing to say the least. We took the cruise to also experience ...

This cruise was chosen for Glacier Bay and I was not disappointed. I found the Crown Princess to be a beautiful ship and easy to navigate especially with the "Explore the Ship" function within the Medallion app. I was disappointed that the itinerary was changed dropping Ketchikan and shortening Juneau. But even with these changes, I chose to stay on the cruise and I'm really happy that I did. ...

Still loyal and love Princess, BUT, here's the scoop, with tons of tips

Booked 6/3 "Drop and Go" for 6/11 Seattle RT on the Crown. Only after booking did I read the tons of negative reviews. Here's the scoop people: Pro: it's still an Alaska cruise on Princess. Stellar shows, crew, food, kids clubs, everything you have come to expect from Princess. Con: you know when a car has some issue that causes it to be in "limp home" mode? Meaning, it'll still ...

I chose this cruise because of the Glacier bay stop and the multiple ports & length of time to enjoy each. Princess cut off one stop completely Ketchikan & moved back our arrival time so shortened it also & cut off some of our 2 excursion. We did catch a couple of the shows which were good and entertaining. The Crown Princess needs to be updated with some new carpet and upkeep nothing major ...
