First Trip to Alaska

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

One of our friends chose this cruise to celebrate his 70th birthday. We drove to Seattle from Richland, Washington and stayed the night before the cruise and the night after the cruise at the Red Lion Seattle Airport. The embarkation and disembarkation went far smoother than our previous cruises. The scenery was beautiful. We loved our ports of call. We wish that we hadn’t taken the whale watching ...

Have Done it before. Like the Alaska scenery. Like sailing in Norwegian. Like the food and shore excursions. Comfortable rooms and food is really good. Like the freedom to eat where we want and when we want.disembarkation stunk. You waited in line too long and it was poorly organized. We are platinum members cabin attendant was not the best we have ever had. Could have been a little more ...

We chose this cruise for the opportunity to see wildlife and it did not disappoint. We saw more humpback whales than I can count. Killer whales, including one breaching. Sea lions, sea otters, seals, porpoises, bears, bald eagles, etc. The natural scenery, including the glaciers, was breathtaking as well. The dining that was included was good, not great. The specialty dining was very ...

This was our first cruise. We are a family of 5 (kids 17, 15, and 11) and in laws. Our outside rooms were better than expected (balcony, inside and window). Food was decent in buffet and often good in sit down restauarants. There was plenty of variety. KIds didn't do kids club - they preferred communal activities offered on the ship. Rock wall was decent but bowling alley was a joke. Hubby and I ...

Too much down time, entertainment stunk

Wanted to experience Alaska. Spent too much time on the ship. Loved most of my excursions especially the Skagway train & Ketchikan float plane ride. Skip Liarsville lunch & show. Not worth your time or money. Enjoyed seeing the Glacier in Juneau & the boat ride to see the whales & sea lions & lots of eagles. Only complaint is the whale quest boat ride was too long. Paid for a penthouse suite but ...

Ran into some passport issues at embarkation. Carol was assigned to help us, and was very kind, but the guy who was the director, useless. He kept stopping by, saying, “ looks like you won’t be going, I’ll pull your luggage off”, not informed that our documents were on the way, then he’d duck behind a curtain and munch on a sandwich. Anyway, got on board, really rough seas the first night. 9580 ...

A very comfortable way to see Alaska.

When I set out to plan this vacation, I looked at every cruise line that sails to Alaska. Since my travel party included myself, my husband, my 15 month old daughter and my mother in law, the cabins really had a lot to do with my final decision. My husband and I quickly decided that we wanted either two cabins (preferably with balconies) or a family suite. When I found NCL's two bedroom suites, ...

Flew into Seattle the day before to explore the city prior to sailing the next day. Space Needle and other area attractions were great. Getting to the dock and through check in could not have gone smoother. We were aboard and enjoying our first meal before we knew it. It helped to have already filled out and printed E docs and luggage tags. The balcony room is the only way to go. Learn the room ...
