Good and not so good

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Pearl

So there are ups and downs on this cruise. Our suite was very nice, big nicely laid out with a big tub overlooking the ocean. Your told not to bother to book dinner reservations online because your in a suite and therefore have "priority" That translates to :as long as you want to eat at 10pm....(who wants to eat at 10pm) We found that out on day one. They also tell you that in a suite you have ...

We were not thrilled about this cruise to Alaska. The port stops were too short, not enough time left to visit the town after an excursion. Because, at the end o the cruise, there was an incident in the warehouse the disembarkation was delayed, the crew and all staff seemed unaware of the people waiting to exit needing a supportive communication and some water while they waited in line for ...

Bad experience: My son luggage was missing. I asked house keeping , they asked me go to to desk 7 service. I tried to call them , but no-one answered. When I walked down to elevator. I found my son's luggage at the end of hall way. No-one cared to bring it to me. He was 7 years old and were so distressed about missing luggage. when I needed some ice, one house keeping told me that I could ...

My husband, 14-year-old son, and I traveled on the Norwegian Pearl from July 30 - August 6, 2017. It was a round-trip cruise from Seattle that made short stops primarily in Alaska. This was my family’s first cruise, and - very likely - our last (certainly our last with NCL!). The cruise should probably get 2.5 stars but I rounded up to a 3. We were really disappointed. I expected the cruise ...

Alaskan Cruise of a lifetime a disappointment

We were not thrilled about this cruise to Alaska. The port stops were too short, with little time left to visit the town after an excursion. Excursions were very expensive, and were less than what we expected. The Staff were wonderful, and helpful. We were very pleased with the staff. The towel animals were a cute addition to our room each night. There were no chocolates on the pillow, ...

Alaska was beautiful, ship was okay

Embarkation began at about 11:30 am so I would not recommend checking in before 11:00. We checked in at about 11:00 and got onto the ship about 45 minutes later. There are a few free activities but many of them try to sell you something such as $200 insoles. I did attend stretching and abdomen fitness classes (~20 minutes each at 7 am) that were pretty good. Bingo costs $39 for 3 cards to $69 for ...

Glacier Bay

My wife and I wanted to see Glacier Bay up close (like we have before on this ship). For some reason, the captain decided to stop and do a 360 degree view well before getting to the glacier this time. Weather was very nice but our view was very limited due to this. He said the next day (after complaints from the passengers) that it was NCL policy not to go in as they don't want the possibility ...

Great cruise, except for guest services

My family and I chose this cruise because of the ship making 4 stops instead of 3 on a 7 day cruise (less days at sea), the roundtrip out of Seattle is easier for booking flights versus the North to South routes, as well as cruising Glacier Bay instead of just seeing Sawyer Glacier. We have never cruised on NCL prior to this cruise but have frequently cruised on Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and ...

We cruised to Alaska on the Norwegian Pearl out of Seattle. There were 20 of us in the party (family reunion), ranging from ages 5-75. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: -Fabulous scenery everywhere you looked. Whales, dolphins, bald eagles, glaciers, mountains, etc. -Unlimited alcoholic beverage package included (yay!) -Lovely stateroom with balcony -AWESOME Brazilian ...

Wanted to take my dad on an Alaskan cruise. My husband and I have been cruising since 2003. We took this exact cruise, exact ship to the exact port in 2007. At the time, NCL was my favorite as they were the first ones to introduce anytime dining. Coming back to the ship, service has truly gone down. No longer have formal nights, no longer serve lobster and shrimp cocktail was all but ...
