Why choose an Alaskan cruise where seafood isn't a star on the menu and the entertainment is close to nil despite needing to be indoors most of the time.
Ship was clean and fine. The cabin only had three small drawers for luggage for two, but the balcony was great. If you have food allergies, do not plan to eat. Even with giving them the required 24 hours notice at each restaurant (6 months ...
We were beyond excited to take the adventure of a life time to Alaska and travel for the first time with Norwegian family. The employees were rude, the tables stayed dirty, they charged for water, the entertainment was Horrible the singers did not even sing in tune. It was like fingernails on a chalk board. Our excursion was cancelled but that is understandable (weather permitted) but what is Not ...
We sent out laundry and it came back missing several pieces. Tried to get reimbursed at guest services but were told nothing they could do and gave me a card to contact ncl insurance claims. Called them to find out they couldn't see my booking because the number I got through travelocity wasn't in their system. Not sure what to do about it now, $300 worth of clothes are gone. The room we paid for ...
Terrible experience on this ship! The food was horrible! There was no place to just sit and view out the windows in peace and quiet. The areas always had a bar near them which was loud. They also had a stage that usually had loud music, etc playing. There was not much entertainment for older people except for the nightly shows and those shows were great! That was the only thing about this ship we ...
We chose the Pearl because they were sailing at a time when it was convenient for our work schedule. I wish I would have done a little more investigating. If you want to drink you pay $89 a day for everyday per person, cant pick and choose when you drink, wi-fi $30 a day everyday per person. They charge to play on board games like bingo $40 bucks, really! I don't recommend this ship or ...
This cruise line was recommended by a travel consultant. Prior to this cruise, I have been on at least 8 cruises and this was the worst cruise I have ever taken. My reasons for this perspective are below:
- Limited/same menu items at 2 of the 3 complimentary restaurants & felt pressured to purchase food & pay gratuities at the specialty restaurants.
- No shrimp/crab served in the ...
The cruise to Alaska was my next great cruise destination. It would give me a sampling of areas in Alaska that I might want to go back and visit again for extended stays.
The food and service were poor to say the least. The people staffing the galley would do better shoveling garbage for meals in most of the restaurants onboard this cruise.
Thank goodness they stopped in ports so I could ...
My husband and I celebrated our 20 year anniversary by finally taking our honeymoon on this cruise. An Alaskan cruise has always been on my bucket list. I saved for months and was so excited as this was my first cruise. I was extremely disappointed by the food, the service, the extra charges that added up to more than $500, the short time at Juneau and the overall feel from the crew. This was the ...
My family took a Norwegian cruise to Alaska recently and for the first time ever on a cruise we had a bad experience. At first we just assumed that these were simple things that were overlooked and would be soon fixed. Sadly this didn't happen for the majority of the trip!
We first arrived and I had to clean the room because all the drawers had hair and clothing tags, rocks etc in them. Then we ...
We have cruises 6x and always on a different ship, and a different cruise line to mix it up.
This was by far the worst. For some reason, most of the artwork on the ship displayed sadness, crying lost children, sad faced families in the dining hall. I can't put my finger on it, but there was not real gaiety on this particular ship. Even when we watched a show in the theatre, my husband slid ...
