ok cruise despite disappointments and frustrations
"Before Juneau, I had booked Mendenhall Glacier and Roberts Tram as an excursion but when I got on ship, there was a notice on my ticket that waits for the tram can take up to 45 minutes each way because of the crowds and NCL has no control over this.If NCL had told me this before I booked, I would have booked the Mendenhall Glacier without the Roberts Tram...."Read More

Nice ship, but not impressed with the cruise at all

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

I preface this review by mentioning that after 3 + years of avoiding COVID, I finally caught it bad on this cruise. I will mention my suspicion’s; take them what what they’re worth. The cruise itinerary in itself isn’t terribly impressive. For a first time Alaska cruiser I wanted more than we got from Sitka, Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan and Victoria. The stops in each location were really ...

First and most Likely last NCL cruise

We selected this cruise for my sons 40th birthday celebration. This was my 4th Alaskan cruise. Twice on Celebrity and once on Princess. Overall we have cruised perhaps 15 to 20 times, first off the on boarding process was actually very good, lines were minimal and staff friendly. The cabin wasn’t available until after 3pm so that wasn’t so good. But the cabin was very nice, loved the large shower. ...

The ship was beautiful. We had a bad experience at Ocean Blue (Bad Rock Lobster) it was mushy and sour. The music was way too loud in the Atrium and I'm a musician!! We were sick (along with several other cruisers) the last two days of cruise..got home and tested Positive for COVID. The scheduling of the ports was terrible. You didn't have time to do anything and the stop in Victoria is ...

I didn’t personally choose this cruise, my niece organized it for the family. The ship is beautiful as was my cabin. Food was good at all the restaurants. The crew was very helpful and friendly. The shore excursions need better descriptions. Most of what we did I would not have chosen had I known more. For example at Icy Strait Point, the gondola over the forest was nice but it was followed ...

Just returned from the cruise.. I did not pick this particular cruise I joined in with my girlfriends who had already booked. We had a great time.  Weather was actually better than expected, except for Ketchikan…rained whole time. Here are some overall observations.  Pros: The ship is beautiful and very clean, the crew worked very had to make your experience special. Lots of great bars and ...

What you need to know about the Bliss--Alaska

The ship-- Nice ship with panaromic views of the scenery. It was enjoyable watching the whales play enjoying lunch and seeing the views. Embarkation was choatic and we didnt get to our rooms until 230 we were tired and weary by the time we got to our rooms. Disembarkation was a snap and we had a private car waiting for us from the hotel. Cleanliness--The ship was clean and staff cleared dishes ...

Alaska ports were short in duration and lots of hidden expenses. Great Customer Service

We chose this cruise because we wanted to go to Alaska. We have sailed about 5 times before but only on carnival so we were very excited. CONS: A few things I didn't, that there were two unlimited bar packages a regular and premium, so we upgraded to that for mostly water and coffee. Definitely felt like that was worth it. We were charged a 20.00 fee daily per person which I didn't ...

Big ship with little to do

We chose the Bliss at a last minute review because we wanted to see Alaskas inner passage. Holland did not go to Endicott Arms. We took the $299 excursion to see the Dawson Glacier and Edicott Arms. It was very foggy and too foggy for the Bliss to follow our smaller boat. Thankfully we signed up for the smaller boat. We usually go on small to medium sized cruises and thought the BLISS would ...

Need more time in port

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

My wife and I booked this cruise as technically our 2nd cruise but our first was 25 years ago so I will say we are first time cruisers. Our largest complaint was there was not enough time at the ports and as a first time cruise the information flow from NCL was not great. Boarding was easy, you can drop off your luggage anytime. We had a board time of 2:30 but dropped off our luggage at like ...

Norwegian Bliss - Atlanta

This was our 4 - 5th trip with Norwegian Cruise Line but our first on the NCL Bliss. We were satisfied with our previous vacations. This trip we brought our daughters, and grandchildren to see Alaska for the first time. This trip on was considerably dissatisfying . We took the Alaska cruise. At the first stop Sitka the ship docked 5 - 6 miles from the town and you were shuttled in. With ...
