Nice common areas on deck - appreciated the stage area in a central spot that was consistent with music and entertainment throughout sea days and in the afternoons as cruisers were returning to the ship.

This was our 12th NCL cruise, and our 2nd on Jewel. Previous sails are all reviewed on here. We stayed in a OA cabin (Picture Window, deck 8). Small but adequate for 2 adults. However, the mattress was the worst we've ever had on an NCL ship. Our sail from Seattle visited Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway, Alaska as well as the required foreign stop of Victoria, BC. We lucked out with ...

I chose this cruise to take my Grand Children on our yearly Grand Children vacation during the Labor Day week. We have done this cruise before with other Grand Children ages 6 - 12. The only real positive thing I can say is the "Splash Academy" is still top of the line. The Grand Children want to attend and request to return when we pick them up. Other than that, the cruise was ...

First off Embarcation: Arrived at Pier 66 @ 9:45 AM. Done with check in and in the waiting area by 10:15. Group 5 for boarding. Boarded ship at 11:35. Super fast and easy. Very helpful port staff. Stopped at spa to verify our spa package, very very attractive women at the spa. Super easy to get sticker and tour. Lockers in men's locker room never wanted to work for me. Co-ed hot tub ...

My husband and I were first time cruisers, therefore we searched for a cruise that would allow us to have a great time, with a great atmosphere, exquisite food, and high quality service without compromising our finances. We found that and even more at the Norwegian Jewel. The view from the balcony was unbelievable gorgeous. The service provided at the front desk, at embark and at disembark was ...

We are frequent cruisers (more than 50), so many of our cruises are last minute and just getaway vacations. This was the case on the Jewel. That said, it was our first cruise on this ship and we were pleasantly surprised. Many reviews question the food and/or service, but we found both to be more than satisfying. We had most of our meals in Tsar's Palace (one of the main complimentary dining ...

Norwegian was recommended to me by a friend who had sailed with them over 6 years ago. This was my first cruise ever. Alaska is incredible. Highly recommend getting a cabin with a balcony. The cruise ship was very good and I had the best sleep I have had in ages. The critics are correct however, the food is not up to standard. Wish the cruise line would have less variety on the menus and ...

NCL lives up to our expectations!

This was our 6th NCL cruise and our 2nd to Alaska. We've cruised with others and prefer NCL because of their casual atmosphere and any time dining. There were teens on the cruise but they were well behaved and there were no screaming kids running up and down the hallways as we've seen on another cruise line. The food was very good both at the dining room and buffet. I'd like to see more ...

This was my husband's first cruise; I hadn't cruised for many years, and my first Norwegian cruise. We were blown away; it exceeded our expectations on every level. The staff was friendly, always went above and beyond. The food was excellent. We loved the choices. Loved Cagney's!! Least favorite was Chin Chin. The views were always incredible. I loved the fact that everywhere on the ...

Love Alaska, the view, the whales and glasiers. But this time the weather didn't help much but we were able to see some whales, eagles and sea lions. The entertainment wasn't like the last time but there was a couple of singers Fire & Ice, they were incredible good, so much energy and talent. She did a tribute to Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and MJ. Seattle is nice you need to come a day ...

This was our first ever cruise and we loved it! We thought the ship was very clean, the crew were all wonderful, and the ship in very good shape. There are so many food options, but we found ourselves eating in the Garden Café the most (buffet). We went to the show every night and all the entertainment was VERY good. The only food we didn't enjoy was at the Chinese food restaurant, Chin Chin. We ...
