Cabin was good. Food as expected. Room was kept clean with freshtowels. Beds were better than some worse than others. Nice closet space. Worst main dining room service in 8 cruises. Service was painfully slow. 30-45 mins to get a drink and starter/salad that was straight off the menu. Go-karts were a ripoff. Stopped my group after 5 laps. Allowed someone to repeatedly block pass attempts - even after telling him to pull to the side. Unfortunately if you bump someone they slow you down and send you to the pits. Go-karts are also not set to run at advertised speeds. Think crappy old amusement park speeds. If you have done the cars at Disney they are faster. Laser tag was good except the only thing you have is the gun - they removed the shoulder harness but at least you get the paid for time. Going back to Royal/Princess/Disney and maybe even Carnival. For the good on the cruise I highly recommend The Local. Food was goid and friendly service. I would suggest requesting a seat at the atrium wall to watch music/shows. We used AlaskaX for an excursion in Skagway to see the his kids/go for a sled ride. Happy with them - everthing went smoothly. The O1 family ocean view worked well for a family of 4. Kids had bunk beds to sleep on. My kids did not like the kids club, but have enjoyed the Disney and RCL kids clubs. They want to switch back to RCL or Disney for our next cruise. We went to several shows. Beatles were entertaining but definitely need some help on harmonization. Read Less

Spent 20K on a family vacation with our adult children & grandchildren. Once in a lifetime affair, we can't afford again. Has been totally ruined. I will never cruise NCL again and my husband who is a travel agent will be sure to warn many others. 1) Matridi refused to accommodate table for 8 in Garden Cafe. Could clearly put two available tables together. 2) Waited long time in guest services line about CPAP & Dining package. Said would call stateroom about CPAP NEVER called. 3) Dining package was chosen along with beverage package but was not applied to only 1 room of our family party/vacation. Was embarrassing & charged at Cagney's astronomical amount of over $200 which was not reimbursed and only solution to the miscommunication was to purchase an additional dining package for 2. 4) our cards were frozen because apparently had old card on file, had to wait in guest service line again, had to wait in guest service line several times for long periods. It felt like half our cruise was waiting in lines. new card was authorized and signed, when went to use again it was still frozen. Jewelry clerk overheard my frustration & called to correct it without having to wait in long guest service line again. Not good practices to hold card numbers on file. These things change often. 5) Ship was so crowded, could not get elevator for sometimes 10-20 mins. 1st & 2nd day, before & after entertainment events and disembarking at ports. As a person with special needs and a scooter that requires use of non crowded elevator it was very frustrating & impossible to get elevator. Disembarking in Juneau thankfully an attendant saw the impossibility to obtain a elevator & my frustration and guided me to service elevators so I could get off ship to make our excursion on time. Ship was so crowded was hard to enjoy anything and never, not ONE hot tub available. Very young children were allowed to occupy them the entire time around pool even though not medically safe for young children and the hot tubs in H20 were occupied by the same groups of people ALL DAY which I can't tolerate more than 20-30 mins in hot tub idk how these people could tolerate all day. 6) Reservations for specialty restaurants made through the app were screwed up & two scheduled for same day. Was supposed to be Wednesday & Friday, had both booked Friday. Had to then wait in line to correct at dining services. ALOT of time was wasted in lines to discuss or fix problems! 7) Rude waitress in Cagney's steakhouse 8) Waited 15-20 minutes before being offered juice at breakfast by someone other than our waiter, our waiter took 3 of 4 of our orders then walked away not taking husband's order, then waited long time for food. Over an hour for food in both Taste & Savor. Worst service ever! 9) again waited over an hour for our breakfast food at Savor, then food came out missing all the meats and other items ordered. Waited over an hour at dinner also and dining room was practically empty so not sure why the hold up. 10) room service took 15-20 minutes to answer phone for me. Never answered at all for son's room. The local is the only place to get food 24/7 besides room service that doesn't answer and you cannot take food out! Is dine in only which was not an option with sleeping children 2 five yr olds and a 2 yr old. 11) photographer took our family pictures while out to dinner at Cagney's restaurant which is fine but then returned with developed photos, literally hovering over our shoulder while we tried to view them and the charge of $25 each photo is ridiculous. The whole thing was awkward & disruptive of our dinner. Taking the pics was fine after that should have been told they will be available shortly in photo gallery for view & purchase on deck 6. 12) my husband & son were charged $300 on card the day of checkin. Without warning or notification or informed of CASH option so that if don't spend it can have immediately returned. Not released & credited 30-60 days later. 13) informed my adult son & daughter to not bring many cigarettes as can purchase on ship cheaper and you never restocked or got shipment of their POPULAR brands so had to purchase at port in Alaska for DOUBLE the price at home if would have purchased before trip. ALSO: When stayed in Haven last year 8/18. We were disappointed but never complained about them painting on our balcony most the time, being restricted from our balcony due to wet paint, then the ONE morning we decide to eat breakfast out on our balcony, water came splashing down, some of it splashing us as they were apparently washing something above. Spent ALOT of money! Maintenance & repairs should be done when guests are not in room. We didn't complain because we love NCL & enjoyed the privacy and VIP of the Haven but this family vacation has been one disaster after the other. I'm actually embarrassed after I talked NCL up to my children & in laws only for them to come and have an experience such as this. Also realized NCL is not a true all inclusive. When add cruise fare, air fare, hotel stays, transfers, excursions, wifi, paying for almost EVERY on board activity & service ie arcade, cake shop, starbucks, race track it is astronomical! I recent found out Regent is the only TRUE all inclusive vacation cruise but I'm reluctant to use them either because owned by NCL and refuse to spend anymore of our hard earned money on NCL after this ruined, astronomical cost of a disastrous family cruise! We loved the Breakaway last year, discovered Haven and didn’t even look at other cruise lines, booked the Bliss for our Alaska trip which we’ve been planning for a while now. Haven was great for embarking, disembarking and to skip the crowds which can be overwhelming. However, it’s exaggerated to the point of misrepresentation. You do get priority with dining but everything else is just regular. You have a concierge that calls around for you but if something you want is booked, it’s booked. Our trip also started on the wrong foot, a customer representative canceled our whole reservation by mistake 4 days prior to sailing - she was supposed to be canceling the airport transfer- 3 hours on the phone after being interrogated and put on hold to listen to the recordings and I got it back but allen reservations I’ve made were gone. And when I tried to rebook, everything was gone. Another few hours on the phone with no luck, no sympathy from anyone, not even an apology and we hoarded without any reservations. Haven concierge just kept saying everything is booked. Freestyle cruising is a joke, if you don’t plan months ahead, you won’t get to do the things you want. Race car and laser tag we’re both completely booked, we could do race car doubles only and once in the whole week. That was disappointing since we were counting on those two even though they charge extra. Our butler was nice but he didn’t have language or people skills to make anything happen. Luggage - tagged priority- came at 7pm, butler said sorry it will come from downstairs?! Everyday I asked for housekeeping at 9am, we get up early with the kids, no one stopped by before 1pm. I was washing coffee cups in the sink because housekeeping wasn’t responsible for those, it was someone else, butler we found out the last day. Small things but they add up. Jersey Boys was great, Broadway quality. However, there was nothing to do with the kids during the day. The simple silly things were really boring because the staff is not enthusiastic and language is really a problem. How can you entertain people if you’re struggling to speak English the whole time? And 80% of the activities revolve around selling you stuff and promotions. So we actually walked around not being able to find anything to do which was not the case at Breakaway. Haven lounge was a great escape and the observation deck there is outstanding, we spent most of our time there. Also the pool and jacuzzi was nice for the kids since it was indoors. Fitness center is a shame, it was full every single time I went and it’s so small. Just the lounge area of the spa is bigger than the fitness center. The weight equipment is lined up on the side so narrow, looks like an after thought. And no classes other than a 7am stretch class. This is a deal breaker for me. Dining is pretty good at NCL, however Haven restaurant was over staffed with under trained employees that walked around all the time but you still don’t get your coffee and only option is French press. For us, Haven was not worth the money and downstairs was too hectic so we’ve decided to look at smaller cruise lines and it’s ok if they don’t have a race track on top. Read Less

I have cruised with Norwegian 9 times now and have never had a bad experience until now. The food was cold, the wait staff forgot some of the order and when we spoke to the supervisor we were not welcomed back. When we went to the Italian restaurant we were told we could not gift our coupons to my parents which wasn't a problem at cagney's but we could gift what was left of our dining package at guest services, but when I went to guest services to do so I was called a liar and told he wasn't going to waste his time to call and check. Half of our party had their show times changed and the other half did not so we were separated. I will never go on this ship again and may never go with Norwegian again. On a good note the ports of call were absolutely amazing and our room steward was the best one yet. Read Less

We decided on the Norwegian Bliss because it is a New ship and seemed to have everything. We cruised with them 15 years ago and had a good experience. This cruise was not a good experience and they have lost my future business. Couple of issues: * 4700 guests and no more common space than any other ship we have sailed on. * The restaurant service was very poor. They rushed to get us out when they were there. * The food was below standard compared to the 15 cruises I have done. Buffet was ok * Needed reservations for EVERYTHING including dinner. We had seven and the best they could ever do was 9:00PM. So much for Anytime dining..Apparently if you don't get your reservations 90 days in advance of cruise you get what you get. Early shows were booked. Comedy shows sold out but was able to get in with the overflow group. Plan on waiting. * The premium drink package we purchased did NOT include water or coffee. * The world famous water slide / tube was closed for the entire cruise for repairs. * They offered a painting class that had 12 spots for 1 day only. Good Luck with 4700 guests and only 12 spots for a class. Why was it even in the daily program. * The drinks were not consistent. Find a bar you like and stay with it. Our biggest issue was the late dining time, poor food quality and service. Just FYI, the strawberry shortcake was made with pound cake. * Getting on the ship was simple but getting off at port was ridiculous. Again, 4700 guests is big if you dont have the staff to handle them. * One Starbucks coffee ship for 4700 guests. Yes, they charge. . Cabin was nice and steward was great. After providing examples of our issues, the manager of food services moved out last two dinners to 5:30. Expensive boat ride. Lost more cabins and the same amount of ship. When I take a week off work for cruise I expect a little more. Read Less

First of all this complaint is not about the ship itself, ship, food , cabin, excellent. This complaint t is about Notweigen Cruise lines itself and how they did nothing to address the fact that someone in the Maderna Spa opened my locker and stole all my money out of my wallet while I was in the spa. To make a long story short, Norweigen client services has not responded to my complaint, NOT one word reeceied from them yet. We go on these cruises thinking that the cruise company is concerned about our safety and the safety of our belongings, but .they are not! They are only interested in covering themselves. What actually happened was I put my personal bag into a locker in the doa and locked it by creating a 4 pin code. I checked to make sure the code was working properly and opened and locked a second time. After returning from the spa, my locker was opened, my bag still inside, but my wallet had no cash in it. On a prior visit to the spa my locker code did not work and a managerial staff member opened it for me by using a numerical code. The spa has a code to open lockers. and confirmed to Norweigen security that such a code exists. The was no other way someone could have opened my locker as I made sure it was locked. Nirweigensecurity having this info did nothing. No offer to reimburse my money, nothing. After the cruise client services has not to date (June to September 2019) even responded to my submitted response, not a word! I have only cruised with Norweigan, six cruises, and I will never cruise with them again. We are not safe, and our belongings are not safe. Norweigen only protects themselves. Never again! Note that Madera Spas never responded to my complaints either and I have names of everyone involved. Norweigan did not want to give me the names, but I made a stink until they did. Criuse with them at your own risk! THE SHIP: In spite of what happened in the spa locker rooms, I found the ship itself to be beautiful, classy and large enough to hold the thousand of cruisers. We are in the specialty dining restaurants and the food was especially best in Le Bistro, Cagney's, Ocean Blue and Q. I did not care for the food in Los Lobos as it was not good to me. Margarita was very good for Mexican tex Mexican type food eith giant portions. Coco's for crepes was good too. I did not eat in the main dining rooms. I ate at the buffet almost daily for breakfast and did not have trouble finding seating. THE SHOWS: I loved all the shows I saw. Jersey Boys, Havana and the Beetles. The musicians and singers were excellent. I loved the band that played in Q. Very talented guys. I did not try any of the outside activities spending most time in the observation lounge where seating was always available. I liked the ship, the Bliss but, due to Norweigans lack of security and terrible attention to problems. I will never sail with them again. Read Less

This is a little bit long, but I write with the hope that you will find it more entertaining than I did the cruise. Let me begin by saying that I've been on 20+ cruises over the last 30 years. When we started cruising, our friends compared every cruise to their experience on NCL; nothing measured up. This was my first cruise with NCL and I was prepared to be wowed. Apparently, a lot has changed in 30 years. Not everything was bad, in fact, our first contact with the ship was fantastic. The ship was docked right in downtown Seattle. I didn't think we had the right ship though, because where it should have said "Bliss" it said "Wayland", right there on the bow. I later learned that he's the artist who designed the images that cover the hull. OK, but doesn't an artist sign a canvas at the bottom of his work? The actual check-in process was the quickest and smoothest I've ever experienced. Things were looking up. Then we got to the baggage check area. There was a young man standing there whose sole job it seemed was to shout "no liquids" every 20 seconds. We had a couple of unopened cans of soda that we brought from the hotel which we quickly tossed in the conveniently provided barrel. The web site says that this is to speed up the baggage inspection, but the fact that you can bring aboard wine (for which you are required to pay a "corkage fee") tells me that it's all about the money. The funny part about this was that later that day I spied two 12 packs of soda that were tied together with a duct tape handle and a room tag that was dutifully delivered to the outside of a cabin by the crew. Apparently, they were dropped off with the rest of their baggage and brought right onto the ship. Note to NCL. Keep a closer eye on the checked baggage. Somebody just cost you $100 in lost revenue. But then we boarded the ship. After the obligatory spray of hand sanitizer, we enter the actual interior of the ship. Not ten steps inside, the first crew member I saw was holding a picture of a slice of prime rib. At first, I thought she was hyping one of the specialty restaurants, but no, she was informing us of the main menu item at the buffet that evening. That seemed a bit odd to me, but the purpose was to become clear as the week dragged on. We found our cabin and it was exactly what I expected. Very nice and compact and entirely suitable for a week's stay. I called my son and we went to his cabin to touch base with him and his family. By this time I was getting a little bit hungry so I checked the schedule to see where I could grab a quick bite. But it turns out that food is only available until 3 o'clock on embarkation day and so I had to wait until dinner time. I've can't remember ever being on a cruise where food wasn't available all day on embarkation day. People have been traveling! They're hungry! That night we went to the buffet to sample the prime rib. It was very good, and the buffet area is the largest and most diverse I've ever seen on a ship. You could almost walk off the calories just wandering around the buffet. The next day was a sea day and I decided to spend a little quiet time reading a book I'd brought along. I found the library, or should I say the library/game room. It was shockingly small for such a large ship, and two of the tables were occupied by gamers so there was no way I was going to be able to read in there. I made my way to the observation lounge and finally found a chair there. In the early afternoon, I started looking into the entertainment options that were accessed through the cabin TV set. The first thing I realized was that we needed reservations to see the much-hyped Jersey Boys show. OK, let's scroll through and see what's available. The entire week was already taken; no reservations were available! Keep in mind that this was less than 24 hours after we sailed. I have never, and I mean never, been on a cruise where 1. reservations were required to see the shows in the theatre, and 2. it was impossible to see such shows. Remind me again what I was paying for? So this was our onboard entertainment for the week: 1. The Beatles group in the theatre the first night. I was surprised at the small crowd, I had expected it to be packed. But we enjoyed it very much. 2. The same group in the Cavern Club. As close as you're ever going to get to actually being there. But the club is very small, I would guess less than 100 people. So this was something that most guests were not going to be able to experience. Arrive early. Very early. 3. Deal or No Deal in the Atrium with the cruise director. 4. A movie in the Atrium. It was a Disney nature film. Enjoyable but disrupted by the sound of the mini bowling alley coming from the open floor above. 5. The show Havana in the theatre. Great sets, music, and dancing. But the rest of the production left us flat. 6. Two lounge singers in the atrium. They were fine, just what you would expect to see on a cruise ship. And that was it. Very disappointing. Now the food. That young lady with the food advertisement that I saw when I boarded the ship was not a onetime thing. Every day there were people hyping the featured item at the buffet that evening. The reason is clear. "Freestyle Cruising" is based on steering guests away from the dining rooms where most of the evening meals are served on other cruise lines, and toward the buffet and the $pecialty re$taurant$. Now I've eaten many meals in buffets onboard ships, but mostly breakfast and lunch. This is the first ship where I've actually been encouraged to eat dinner in the buffet. The restaurants are way too small to handle the guests unless most of them don't eat there. We did manage to eat in the restaurants on three occasions. Two of those were acceptable. On the third, I ordered the always available New York Strip. The first one I received was well done. It was replaced with a steak that was actually difficult to cut because it was so full of gristle. They offered to replace that too but I had managed to get enough off of it and I was done. I could go on about the overpriced soft drinks, the room steward who failed to empty my mini fridge after I asked him to, and the botching of my post-cruise travel plans, but you get the idea. The cruise ship should be one of the destinations on a cruise. This one felt more like a ferry boat ride to Alaska. Read Less

I chose this cruise because it was a new and large ship. The ship was very nice but that was all I can say positive about this cruise. The food at Savor, Taste, Manhatten and Buffet was awful! The menu at the three main dining rooms was the same every night except for their specials. The food was like cafeteria food, cold, tasteless and very little variety. No steak night. No lobster night. Very disappointed in the food because I had heard they were supposed to be one of the best. Not true! The entertainment was very limited. Nothing going on in the day time. Very poor demonstrations and game shows, very boring! The Jersey Boys was the highlight of the cruise but that was only one night. Theater should have had something going on both day and night every day. Sick of high priced push of jewelry and art. The excursions were not planned well at all. We arrived at Buchart Gardens at 9:40 at night for one hour. You couldn't see anything, too dark. Pathways not lit, too dark to read map, pictures did not turn out well at all, no time to visit all areas or gift shops. Big disappointment! Many went to guest services afterward for refunds. In visiting with other guests while aboard, we heard the same complaints that we were experiencing. Makes me want to never cruise again. Glad this was not my first, I know there are better choices available. Never again Norwegian! Read Less

This was the worst cruise by far. I had high hopes though, as my first cruise was with Norwegian, which has been the bar in which I measure all cruises; it was very fantastic. This cruise was seemingly doomed from the get go. Getting on the ship was a pain, the porters were not helpful, the food was terrible, the wait staff was hit and miss, the stateroom was way too small for three people, the bathroom was too small for even one person, our toilet was broken the whole cruise, the service desk was slow to help, the service desk was further rude and unwilling to listen to complaints, the NCL reservation staff I spoke to was highly rude and unwilling to listen (told I had to fill out post cruise review), the shows on board were terrible and far too few, there was little to do on the ship that didn’t require a reservation, some items such as laser tag and go carts had a cost and were not indicated as such at the time the reservations were made, the Wi-Fi service was terrible and barely worked, it cost additional to setup my online account after already paying for Wi-Fi access, the elevator access was terrible, there was no onboard self serve laundry, the on board laundry service was slow overall, was impossible to book reservations due to not knowing what was going on on the ship more than a few hours in advance, there was little instruction on disembarking the ship on the final day, getting off the ship was far slower than I have ever experienced. I could go on and on but this was horrible. I’m pretty sure I will never sail with Norwegian again. Read Less

1. when NCL Bliss came to Seattle, we were expecting Epic kind of service or amenities. But the Bliss was way worse than what we were expected. we paid $9000 for 4 of us in same room, the room doesn't have enough closet space or drawers for our close, have to 2 of us has to use our luggage, placing at the middle of the room. 2. can you imagine the Specialty Restaurant served the exact same dish as regular Main Dining Room? ( in this case is La Bistro & Manhattan), it's a rip off. we were on Heaven Category so we got to dine at Heaven Restaurant but the quality was not as good as before, NCL used to serve special meals for each destination like Mediterranean Cruise with Seafood, Alaska Cruise with King crab leg, but with the Bliss none of those (even with Pearl, they don't serve it any more) and the selections are getting scares ..... 3. the dining room hours are so limited you have to rush yourself......... otherwise you end up eating in your tiny room....... the Concierge wasn't helpful unless you pile up the green notes upfront....... very realistic. I do give extra tips for those who worked behind the scene, wait staffs or housekeeper daily...... they are hard workers and were almost at the point being abused by NCL the Only reason I chose NCL is because of my MOM, who is wheelchair-bound, I like the free style..... but the Bliss isn't made for , or accommodated for Handicapped persons. Showroom alone is not made for one...... the wheelchair area were not made for watching the show unless you are really tall, my Mon can sit there but can only watch the wall in front of her..... the rest of the handicapped seats are those 2 rows down the stairs and only have one opening out........ not recommended..... One more thing, you have to check your bill diligently or NCL tend to over charge you unless you complaine. Read Less

We chose the Bliss because of all the amazing videos we saw and everything we heard from our travel agent. I will start with the positives: - If you're a single or older couple with no kids, this cruise MAY be for you - Good options for entertainment - Paid/ upcharge restaurants were definitely better than included ones - Alaska ports made the trip worthwhile Now, for the things we do not like and why we will never choose Norweigan again: - Maybe because the Bliss is so new, this could explain the utter lack of organization of the staff - Food at Buffet, Taste/Savor (same food) and Manhattan was very mediocre (at best) with no place to sit in the buffet restaurant - Our room (10-154) had a horrible banging/knocking in the walls and for 3 straight nights I go ZERO sleep, for a vacation it was unbearable - The spa passes were pointless and way over priced (again with kids, it's very difficult to coordinate since the kids clubs closes for 2 hours chucks all through the day) - The arcade and bowling machines will charge you repeatedly whether you used/ played the machine or not (and the way we were treated when we brought up an extra $6 charge was atrocious...) -Staff on cruise aren't empowered to do anything. So, if you have issues you have to write a complaint post cruise and they say it takes up to 15 business days to get a response - The app is trash and they charge you $9.95 per person to use it - Most things were constantly closed down (laser tag, mini golf and race track) which attracted us in the first place - Most things on ship are an extra cost so it's a constant nickel and diming vacation - Not a lot of family friendly activities - Havanah was just awful (as you will see in every other review) but there was really no need for the actors to light up real cigarettes in Jersey Boys (it was disgusting and made the whole theater smell) - The common spaces like the observation area are ALWAYS packed and people put their gross feet on the furniture and no rules are enforced. NOTE: We had a balcony but if you get an inside cabin it will be very hard for you to find a "common space" to relax and enjoy when there is anything to see outside - No drawers/ clothing space for fmaily with kids (if you're just 2 people, I imagine the closet space would be fine - The worst traffic flow I've ever seen on a ship. Elevators are always packed and no one wants to make space for new people (so you will be climbing 5-10 flights of stairs all the time to get where you need to go) - Captain decided to not go to the glacier which was a huge selling point for us. Given all the equipment they have on board it was more of an issues of not “wanting” to rather that not being able to. Why not save their gas and effort, right? We literally turned around. Overall, this is a cruise where the food is bad, few options for families, the staff is not empowered to make anything right which means absolute HORRIBLE or non-existent customer service, over-crowded ship with poorly planned traffic flow, this was not a vacation this was a total disappointment. As with anything, we have each other so spending time together was the best part but I would not waste money with Norweigan (they appear economical but after being charged for EVERY SINGLE THING) they are way more pricey. I will be booking with Disney Cruise from now on until kids are older (they have exquisite food, service and pretty much everything is outstanding). Read Less

We chose this cruise to fulfill a lifetime dream of seeing Alaska. We feel like we did not even see Alaska. The Bliss is a ship meant for cruising in warm weather. Pools and slides and outdoor spaces are abundant. But much of our trip was raining and cold, so all of the 4000 passengers were crammed inside. Norwegian knows that this ship is not geared for Alaska and they book it to the max anyway. I anticipated up charges, but Norwegian takes it to a new level. The food was sub-par at best. Even the “specialty dinning” was average or below. DO NOT book an aft cabin. The smoke and soot from the engines blows directly on the balcony and makes sitting outside impossible. Grime and soot coat the the chairs and railing. The shore excursions were either cancelled or overbooked. And the remaining time in each port was spent fighting crowds from the 5 other cruise ships that docked to get into shops owned by the cruise line. My husband and I kept saying “never again”. Guest services was condescending and rude. I am stopping now Read Less

This is my first cruise with NCL (I had 15+ cruises with other ocean/river cruise) and my first time in an inside cabin (because of the very high price NCL Bliss charged for this 8 days Alaska Cruise –USD1600.00/Per person + USD14.50 service fee per person per day). Other than this ship is new (Maiden sailing in May-2018) and big (4500 passenger), everything else is so so to bad……… Service: rude and unprofessional staffs, Security check point on the embarkation: I had a quarter bottle of water left in my hand carry and was told this is not allowed, I took out the water bottle and drank the water, the security guard reach out and grab the empty bottle from my hand and throw it into a bin and said that even the empty bottle is not allowed. Safety drill: an Asian lady standing next to me before the drill start has an incoming call on her phone and she answered, one of the staff saw it and shouted at her to put her phone down. Dining room: waited more than 10 minutes more than a couple of times to get water upon arrival, overall slow service, Garden Café: not enough staff to clean the tables, sit with dirty dishes for a long time. Dining: No set seating. Food in the dining room is average only, not good, not bad. Wait staffs are ok after they acknowledge you’re here. Waiting staff not knowing what is Dijon Mustard when serving Lamb and said the yellow mustard for Hot Dogs is good for Lamb!! No Lobster night, can not even buy lobster or King Crab at the specialty restaurant, the waiter said : we have lobster bisque ??? Food in the Garden Café is boring, Prime rib served with no Au Jus, after asking for it and waited 15 minutes, they gave me a cup of gravy. Running out of Congee (Chinese Rice Soup) at 9:00 am. Seafood night at Garden Café served small shrimps, mussels, tilapia, cod and Atlantic pink salmon, no large prawns, no lobster, no halibut, no clams, no trout, no sushi and no Alaska Salmon (This is an Alaska Cruise!). what kind seafood dinner is this? Dessert: Cheesecake (Any variety) only available some day and not everyday, watermelon and banana only available by request toward the last few day of cruise. Entertainment: Beatles tribute very good, Jersey Boy OK, Havana not entertaining, had to make reservation to watch the show because of too many passenger for too little space. Wifi: wifi quite good but very expensive at USD243.00 for 8 days. We missed the highlight of this cruise, the captain decided not to do the cruise-by of the glacier due to poor visibility, VERY VERY Disappointed. Read Less

Onboard this cruise they had an interview With two gentlemen about how this ship is run, like a floating hotel. It is definitely more like a floating mall. If you want to buy jewelry, art & clothing or have your photograph taken Buy your own personal paid photographer, not just the regular photographers that are in other crew ships , this is the place for you. If you want to be nickeled and dimed for everything this is the place for you. A cruise is supposed to be all inclusive ( at least the majority) that was far from the case on the bliss. The add on packages that you have to pay additional for include water, soda, drinks, specialty dining, indoor pool, go carts, laser tag, select shows (Prohibition) and Video games. I’m sure there’s more but these are the things I know we paid extra for. When I first arrived on board I found out one of the things that can happen on this cruise and I tried to make sure I didn’t have to deal with it. When you have a child in your room they are automatically on your credit card they have a waiver that you can sign that says that you do not want your child to go over certain dollar amount but they don’t really enforce this because if your child happens to go over that dollar amount within the first hour such as going to the arcade they are not responsible because they only check daily. The only choice for us was to completely remove a credit card from my sons account so he was not able to charge anything. However there was seven games on his card that we were responsible for even though he wasn’t even supposed to have any access to our credit card. We did buy him the $70 package for select games ( not all) in the arcade because there was very little for him to do on the cruise. We usually make it a rule that my son is not allowed to play any kind of electronics when on vacation but I had to make an exception this time.Another boy in our group who is 15 and has been on many ships said this was the most boring he’s ever been on. On the last cruise I took, which was celebrity, you got smaller bottles of water that were free and if you wanted large bottles of Evian water you had to pay for them, which seems reasonable. This Bliss ship was one that was made for Alaska and I was on a cruise going to Alaska and if I wanted to go to an indoor pool I had to pay additional package for it. The amount of Chlorine that was in the outdoor pool made my husband sick and he could not wash his eyes out enough to stop the pain. We were so excited about the go carts and the laser tag when we booked, only to be informed after we purchased the cruise, there was going to be a charge for each which was annoying but we had to deal with it. When we get on the cruise we found out that it was completely sold out and we couldn’t use either of them. We were told we could go on standby which is going to take at least a half an hour to 45 minutes of our time but certainly did not guarantee us a spot and this was the case with almost everything on board the ship including every show. Everything had to be booked in advance and if you didn’t then you weren’t going to see it or you had to wait for a half an hour to 45 minutes on standby to do so. I don’t know about you but when I go on vacation I like to feel like I’m on vacation not like I’m at work where everything is planned. The activity level for the children I would say was about a 2. I told my nine-year-old son that he was about to go on the best vacation of his life. My son absolutely hates cruises now. They did offer clubs for different groups, my son is 9 he’s going to be 10 soon and he’s not a young 9. I asked that he be moved into the older group of 10 to 12 because the 6 to 9-year-old group had many young children, they said they did not allow that. Not such a big deal for me, my son only went once but there was another person on the cruise that had a 12-year-old child that was turning 13 a week after the cruise ended and they would not allow her to go into the older group so she was with 10 to 12-year-olds. Having said that basically you are sending your children to a daycare center everything being inside. They have added on laser tag and go carts which now is costing everyone on board additional money so now they no longer have the sporting area that they normally have for kids or other pools because the entire top deck is now being used by something that each member on the cruise is probably going to only enjoy once. The staff is by far the rudest, dullest and inconsiderate I have ever seen. I cannot believe this is a brand new ship and this is the way they treat guests. From the time I got on board and listened to a woman complain to a rude disintereseted “guest relations” rep about how she signed a waiver to not allow her child to spend over a certain amount of money, all the way to the end of the cruise when we had a member of our group fall on the stairs (which are dangerous)and asked for a copy of the report, which we were refused, It’s a constant reminder of how bad it really is. There was one woman on board that was in front of the buffet area that was absolutely wonderful and she sang a song for everybody “washy, washy” and made everyone smile but sadly she is the only memorable person on board. When I go on a cruise I expect that I will not be nickeled and dimed for everything, I will be treated with nothing but respect from all employees, my bartenders and waiters will be joyful playful and accommodating. I expect that I will have plenty to do and I will never be sitting in my room watching movies as all of us did at one point of the cruise. I expect that the largest ship should have more than 12 elevators in more than two outdoor pools and that they should have indoor pools that don’t cost additional money . I expect that if someone falls that employee will not walk by and say are you Are you OK but continue walking. I unfortunately could go on and on about this cruises faults but I really want to warn people to look into every single cost when booking Cruises these days. It is disheartening when you have a group of nine people and you each spent $2500 for a room to go on a vacation of a lifetime and come home frustrated and very disappointed. I have spoken to many people that have gone to Alaska on a cruise and it’s not Normal to return disappointed. Do yourself a favor and don’t book on the Norwegian bliss until they have corrected their errors. On a separate note visiting Alaska was a little bit different than I had expected. I probably watch way too much national geographic but I had expected to see tall glaciers and ice capped mountains. I am not sure if this cruise line goes to a different location than others but every port was pretty much the same there were mountains but everything was green. I assume because it’s the summer. We went on excursions through the cruise line but I highly recommend skipping that; Rent-A-Car and go see the countryside for the few hours that you are in each port. We went on a boat excursion that cost us $150 each for four people, $600.00 total. when we got off we rented a jeep for four people for $140 total and drove for four hours and saw the most amazing mountains (white capped), lakes, etc... When we got to British Columbia we rented a limo for $300 for five hours and saw everything that you could want to see. I’m not sure if there are other cruise lines that stay in the ports for longer than five hours but this was also a frustration as you had to get up very early in the morning get off of the ship go do your excursions come back have dinner basically ready to go to sleep, we were exhausted. That may just be the nature of the beast but you should know before you go. I really hope this review and the other reviews that you read about the bless help and I hope that people will see and the bliss will respond by making changes. It is not fair to go on what people call “a trip of a lifetime” and come home to write this kind of review. Read Less

The Bliss is a large ship, which means every activity is booked within the first two hours of arrival. The activities at the ports are also booked because it’s such a large ship. I wish I knew this before I booked. Not many activities for children and everything requires a reservation unless you want to wait 30 plus minutes in line! Staff give you the run around, don’t have answers to your questions and appear overworked. No one seems to have answers and they all give you different answers. Guest services has the worse customer service I have ever experienced! Waiters were nice and housekeeping was accommodating. These poor employees are under paid. NCL has many fees for activities that are typically included on other cruise ships. In the future we will be cruising with Disney or Royal. We have cruised with them many times and have always been satisfied. Read Less

Let me be transparent, I didn't know whether to trust Cruise Critic. I even searched Google and Reddit to see others' experiences on whether this was even a legit website. This is not one of those puff piece reviews. This is a real review written by a guy who went on his first cruise with no set expectations. So here's the story: If Spirit Airlines ran a cruise ship, it would be the Norwegian Bliss. You get nickeled and dimed for literally everything. Want to play laser tag? That'll cost you. Go carts? That will cost you. Bowl in the mini bowling alley that we never saw/heard about until disembarking at the end? That will cost you. Honestly surprised the hot tubs and pool didn't cost you. The cabin was super small. My in-laws her cruised earlier this year with Carnival and said their stateroom was double the size of these. Technology is great, but when you need to leave your room key card in a slot by the main door to get any of the lights to come on, you've gone too far. Our cabin steward was unattentive at best. My wife requested additional pillows and towels multiple times. One day he took away our extra pillow. Never did show up with the towel, so we had to grab one off the maintenance cart. And they wanted $14.95 per person per day as a room service fee to pay him to do his job! If you get bad service, go to guest services to dispute this. You can only do it Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Otherwise you're stuck with it. For a family of 4 this would get pretty pricey. There isn't much to do onboard this ship. If you're there to get the ultimate drink package, have a blast, you'll enjoy this. If you are there to gamble, the casinos are right in the middle of the main decks, including a room for smokers that drifts into the main deck area. Wife has asthma, we tried to avoid but it was right in the middle of the ship (floors 6-8 middle). Jersey Boys was well done, but Havana was terrible - seemed like Havana cast was not synced up. So shows came out average. Theater seating also poor. Such a low grade as the seats go from balcony to the floor that you were almost assured to have someone's head in front of you, leaving you with an obstructed view. Especially if you sat in the handicapped section. Food wasn't great. I actually stopped eating onboard mid-cruise because the repetition of the food quit agreeing with me. Lunches don't change in the dining rooms, and the buffets are self-serve, rather than staff serve like at an all inclusive resort. Great opportunity to spread germs. Specialty restaurants were meh. Cagneys was overrated, porterhouse had a funny aftertaste. Old Fashioned they brought me was WAY too sweet, tasted like syrup. Never ordered another cocktail. Craft beer bar The District had disinterested bartenders. Even beers I knew didn't taste exactly right, Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA tasted watered down. Not sure how often the tap/lines got cleaned. Excursions were ok, but in talking with some folks I met onboard many of them found them cheaper by just signing up in town. One family did the dogsled experience in Skagway for $75/person CHEAPER than if they had booked through the cruise line. We also did not get nearly enough time in the ports. 5-6 hours most places. In the time it took to get an elevator (elderly in-laws and wife with asthma), there wasn't really enough time to truly explore these towns and excursions. Disembarking was a clusterf*ck. All week they hype Port Valet to transfer your bags directly from the ship to the airport. The airlines will even waive baggage fees. Wife and I asked 3 different people at guest service about this and got 3 completely different answers. None of those answers stated that you have to leave Saturday when you get back to Seattle. We were to leave Sunday, so apparently we didn't qualify. They waited until after we left the ship in Victoria the night before we got back to Seattle to inform us of this. It ultimately cost us about 7 hours of our time, waiting an hour and a half extra to disembark, getting to the hotel, renting a car, and then coming back to downtown, not to mention the extra time in the lines at the airport the next day. Guest services needs to get their story together. As I mentioned earlier, wife and I got different answers for same question when we talked to multiple people there (you start questioning it after it happens once). When my mother-in-law went down to question some items on her bill, the guest services girl called her a liar when MIL stated she had paid for gratuity and excursions up front. Terrible customer service experience with them. I spoke with at least 2 dozen people at random on this cruise through happenstance meetings. The overwhelming majority took this cruise because it was a new ship. They were disappointed like me. Many had children and remarked that there isn't a kid's club or daycare like some other ships offer. The other reviews hit this spot on. Kids are running wild all over this ship, no parental control in sight. Basically parents expected the crew to entertain their kids without nearly enough for children to do. Note for those who are handicapped or elderly. Hallways are very narrow outside staterooms, difficult for my mother in law to get her walker through them. Also, the gangway ramps in Skagway and Juneau, and even portions of Seattle were too steep. Who does this cruise line think takes cruises? Senior adults need better care and more options to disembark at ports with this cruise line. Thanks for taking the time to read. You work hard for the money you do have, or if you're paying for family to cruise together, you want the best experience for them. My advice, look elsewhere. Every person who told me they took this cruise because of the ship being new said in the next breath they wished they had done this with Royal Caribbean. Read Less

My cruise (which I gave as a gift to two members of my family) began with my VIP suite being flooded (which is no ones fault) - we were moved over 6 hours later to another suite that was not cleaned (toilet still had someone else's bm left in it). Our package included a butler - which we never met or sawtthe entire week. We moved our own luggage to the new room, unpacked our luggage. We were seated late for scheduled dinner which caused us to miss a show in which we had tickets. This was just the first day - it did not get better. The only fun portion of this trip was the train ride in Alaska. I was embarrassed and highly disappointed, I wanted to give my family a present that wouldn't forget. I guess I sure did. This is my 22nd cruise and my last. This was their first cruise and their last. $25,000 disappointment. Read Less

First time with NCL, but cruised dozens of times with others. The food was terrible....everywhere! We tried the Garden Buffet several times. The food was barely warm to cool. I guess this forced us to the specialty restaurants, which were also disappointing. Considering we were on an Alaskan cruise, it was next to impossible to find fresh, hot seafood! I was told, “If you want fresh salmon, good luck.” The one entree I had was SO over cooked and dry...ughhh. The crowds, the kids running around unsupervised and the overall feeling of just being another buck to pay for this new ship was overwhelming. With the Ultimate Beverage Package, you can’t get even a small bottle of Perrier or Pelligrino, but you can have up to $15 of liquor!! The casino was NOT paying out to anyone! Spent over $6k!! We will never endure this misery again to be treated like cattle. Read Less

Embarkation went well. No lines. Blue angels were actually putting on a show in Seattle. Cabin with balcony was nice. Brand new ship was the appeal for booking our first Norwegian Cruise. First meal was lunch buffet which was good- especially Indian food. Dinner was average at main dining room, but service was horrible. Wait staff seemed to hate their job. Woke up & went to buffet breakfast- food looked terrific- make your own omelette especially, but an everyday occurrence that was unbelievable- we waited 10 to 15 minutes for a table. Obviously our food was cold by the time we sat down. That occurred every day. Even overflow seating by the pool was occupied. A brand new ship should have the passenger flow figured out. We tried all the specialty restaurants- food was okay, but again service not acceptable. Food would be brought to the table & server even at the steakhouse would yell “who has the fish”. Another surprise was full a la carte pricing on specialty restaurants versus a price per person. Another nickel & dime from NCL. Both our excursions were cancelled due to weather but not notified til off the ship. Never NCL again. Much better experience with Royal Caribbean & Celebrity! Read Less

So here I am, an experienced cruiser, and I loved every cruise I’ve ever been on (about 15-18) and I usually go on royal, carnival and princess. All spectacular. I went on the Norwegian bliss and I am absolutely appalled and so absolutely furious at everything about this cruise. And I plan to post this everywhere I can in hopes people will see it so changes are made because everyone was so disappointed and kind of blown away at the lack of respect, preparedness, understanding and professionalism on this boat. I wanna tell everyone about my time on the Norwegian bliss leaving from Seattle going to 4 stops in Alaska and last one in Canada. I’m sorry if this is all over but I started in my notepad on day 1 with one bullet and made it to 10 by the last day and just chatting with other passengers seeing their agreeing with me on everything. So here it goes we had a party of 45 of us, with the group coordinated being someone that worked for Norwegian. She was a true monster, I will not say names but she bullied us and hung up on us constantly when she didn’t like a question we had and it was too much work for her, constantly asking if we could just find the e-mail rather than her open her computer up because it’s ‘too much’.. she would huff and puff on the phone.. gives no insight as to where we can get things done just would hang up the phone... we were all scared to say something because we were afraid she would sabotage our trip (yeah that bad) First day on, Was told as bartender was making my drink while I was tapping my card to music while bobbing my head, singing that tapping my card irritates him and that I will be *motions ‘your out’ signal* even tho I get it is irritating , I’m a bartender as well but who says that!!! I would NEVER tap my card in that kinda way but if someone does tell them nicely... anyway, that was the first hour on the boat. We got the drinking package, most bars we went to (the atrium, one on pool deck just to name a few) no one smiled or talked to us while getting drinks just pointed at us to get our order and really only talked to each other for the first day or two. After that they got very nice, I guess a lot of people complained because a lot of people were talking about rude service on the smoking deck... Now to smokers. SMOKERS HAVE NO RIGHTS. Was the motto of all the smokers the whole boat, not just my group. they only have two smoking sections... and one is a cigar lounge indoors with minimal ventilation so the room is hot boxed with cigarette smoke and it’s really not fair to anyone ,cigar smokers or cigarette smokers... the other deck is 17 which is a really nice adult outdoor lounge type thing first day was closed for a reserved event.. a wedding perhaps or a birthday but it was closed to everyone on the ship so everyone had to cram in this 10 chair cigar lounge as they never made the promised “announcement” over the speaker where the temporary smoking section would be. Also little pieces of black soot was flying from the smoke stacks and staining everyone’s white clothes on deck 17 .. people complained and they closed it down during dAy 4 or so to have it cleaned and they redirected us to deck 19 that time. There was not a time when the guest service deck was wrapped around the lounge, At the end of the trip, you had to go get your own luggage tags at desk because of the minimal time our room was made up. On the ship there are lights on your door with switches to indicate what you would like them to do with your room. They say ‘make up room, do not disturb’ and ‘at home’. In order to keep your lights on, you must insert card into a slot... automatically the ‘at home’ light will come on so they know not to make up your room. You also can not charge your electronics whenever, unless your seapass card is inserted in the slot so you may not charge electronics while you’re not in room because you need your seapass around the boat. You can’t keep lights on while you are not in the cabin which is fine, who cares. We were rarely ever in our room the whole time.. just to sleep and then come and go and being in 15 or so cruises we know they clean your room once if not twice a day, they cleaned our room 3 times the whole time(even with ‘makeup room’ sign indicated)... all 3 times leaving dirty cups, plates, old bottles in the room. Keeping trash on dresser just organizing it. Threw my stuffed animal and neck pillow in my dirty laundry pile on the floor. Now onto the elevators.... there are 12 on this whole boat. Front and back and none in the middle. Like I said, as an experienced cruiser, you know everyone uses the elevators. The stairs were completely crowded. By day 2-3 everyone completely gave up on trying to use to completely crowded elevators. Took 20 min to get an elevator and when you got one it was completely full. My elderly grandparents couldn’t walk up and down the stairs and were forced to because of the unbelievably long wait for elevators. So on the ship you need a reservation for everything, absolutely everything... silent disco, comedy club, broadway shows, laser tag, go carts, fine dining restaurants... everything was “booked up” the go karts had zero availability and there was never anyone on them ... same with shows. And out of every cruise this was the most expensive we paid for And they still nickel and dime you.. $8 for go karts $ for laser tag $ for some shows $ For painting. Seems as people made reservations then didn’t show so a lot of people didn’t get to do much. Luckily we walked past silent disco and just said screw it and walked in.. they let us in even though everyone said it was ‘booked but we can wait in standby’ the silent disco was trash. Fast songs were slowed down and slowed songs were sped up so everyone was dancin the same tempo.. which takes the fun out of silent disco. Also they stopped and made every dance to Macarena, Cupid shuffle, just overplayed dance music and you could not change the station. Let me start this paragraph positive, THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT!!! And there was that... one night while sitting in the manhattan, we got appetizers then took a couple bites of our apps and soups and ran up to go look at a glacier we were pAssing, we came back several minutes later to our food all gone, barely eaten. She brought us our food again but Was constantly taking unfinished drinks and rushing us onto our next order. There was no sAil away parties but that’s just a minuscule complaint aside to all the others... this cruise was dreadful, the vibe was absolutely terrible solely caused by the staff then traveled over to passengers. It had potential to be great (aside from the elevators) the rude wait staff, omelet makers in the morning, bartenders, security guard was just sad. I forgot my card at the bar and instead of a “you forgot your card” I got a “oh so you want to leave your card here... or you gonna take it???” Called out to me rudely as I walked away. Family was in the hot tub and I sat on a little soap box looking thing off the side of the hot tub to talk to them and there was no sign that said don’t sit and it wasn’t dangerous to sit there, looked like you can hang towels off it .. I’m not sure what it was used for exactly just a wooden box and I sat on it and instead of asking me to get off I got “you really think it’s a good idea to sit there? You think that’s safe.. they tell me when your not safe *points at camera* so get off” everyone of us just looked around at each other like what the hell just happened???? Sorry if this lacks punctuation but if I didn’t write it asap I would’ve never done it. Read Less

The Norwegian Bliss-less I should have known that this experience was going to be atrocious when the booking and check in process was so terrible. Our two kids are 12 and 15 and very shy. One of my concerns was them being allowed to be in the same club (our prior experience with Disney allowed them to be). One of the Norwegian reps assured me they would be able to be in the same club so I went ahead with the booking. Onboard we found out that they are NOT allowed to be in the same club. Another reason we wanted the kids to be together was that the NCL app does not allow anyone less than 14 to use it so the 12 year old couldn’t communicate with us if she needed but could contact us if she was with her brother. The club manager assured me she would be able to call our app anytime she wanted. She went once and asked a counselor to let her call us but the counselor WOULDN’T let her. Instead, the counselor called the kids' room asking us to pick her up instead of reaching us with the app we PAID EXTRA for (see below). We got her an hour later and she wouldn’t go back. We had to pay almost $10 each phone to communicate onboard and the app worked 3/5 times. Either the notification wasn’t going through (even though the notification was turned on) or you could see you got a message but when you opened it up to see the message there was no message. The internet options were vague and my husband purchased a 50 minute usage thinking it was for 50 minutes total but didn’t realize it was a continuous 50 minutes so he used it up in the shower (and this was $100!). There were too many people onboard. We couldn’t see a show, sit to eat dinner or enjoy any of the things on board because they were all booked up. WE ATE IN OUR ROOM FOR BREAKFAST almost every day. People were reserving rows of seats in the observation lounge and in the theatre and were not told by staff it was not allowed. Also in this regard, people were smoking in the Cavern Club but the waiter serving them drinks didn’t kick them out! We were able to get a seat at Savor one evening but it took 2 hours to eat. I accidentally spilled my water and informed the waiter but he turned away and ignored me and went ahead to serve two tables. The assistant plopped down two napkins 20 minutes later and we had to clean it up ourselves. It took 40 minutes to get the kids sodas after asking 3 different people. And we were asked by three separate people if the $2.50 upcharge was ok for the wine we chose. We barely saw the actual waiter. Being busy on the ship is no excuse – you know how many people are on there and need to staff it appropriately. The next day someone sent chocolate covered strawberries to our kids' room (12 and 15 as above) with a creepy message from a male asking if they received the strawberries without mention of what they were for. I had to wait 15 minutes in guest relations line (because there was always a line) to make sure some creep wasn’t trying anything funny with our kids and found out it was an apology about the dinner. Seriously? We tried il Bistro with not much success. The waitress had no idea what a sommelier was when I asked her to speak to about someone about pairing wine with the escargot. The bartender came and bluntly just asked what I wanted to drink. The scallops were inedible – like rubber. Note that this restaurant was not complimentary and we had to pay extra. We left our bag at the Whiskey bar one evening so we checked with guest services to see if anyone turned it in. They said no. I asked the next day just in case and it had been there the ENTIRE time but the first person didn’t even look. Overall, this was the worse experience of my life, put a ton of stress on our family, and ruined our entire summer. As a follow-up, the only way to leave a complaint is an online process. I did this and received an email apologizing and was offered a free "welcome aboard" package on our next trip, which is a joke because I will NEVER sail with Norwegian again. I called Guest relations trying to speak with someone about the response and was on hold for 20 minutes just to get transferred to a voicemail. Please share and stay away from Norwegian. Read Less

I chose this line and ship since I thought it is first class. I was so very wrong with that. The cruise and excursions that we chose were great, but the ship was full of children everywhere (don't get me wrong I love children I am one of ten, I have 5 children and 9 grandchildren) but to go on a expensive cruise and not have any peace or anywhere to sit and read a book that is insane. The hot tubs were full of children from morning to night never used one. The observation deck impossible to get a chair since parents slept and children took over bare feet on couches and food everywhere. The ship was a playground and babysitter for the children. The food was very disappointing the same stuff everyday at the buffet except for the carved meat. The main dining room was nice but again overpacked and very loud the food was ok and excellent. I just feel we paid top dollar we should have top dollar food and service. The staff were very unfriendly didn't feel welcomed at all with an exception of 2 or 3 people. The enterntainment was not enough and very poor. Never eveen saw Jersey Boys sold out!! Really?? The room was very nice and so was our service. I surprised my husband for his 60th since he never went on a cruise, but unfortunately it was a disaster we will never recomend or go on the Norwegian again. There was no room at the bars nor did you have servers walking around. In the casino NO ONE came to ask you if you want a drink unless you looked for them and mostly had to go to the bar yourself HORRIBLE!!! I don't smoke but they have a designated smoking section on the back of the ship that is probably a 10 by 10 section like a kennel for dogs really didn't the smokers pay more then the kids??? Such a shame that Norwegian didn't live up to their name. Read Less

Great ship, new and beautiful Now the bad news Unlimited drinks, not so much No water or OJ included, reallllllly Bought specialty restaurant pkg but were sold out every night and they were still selling them in the ship.Pretty sure that is theft. Asked for a refund and they looked at me like I was a third grader All shows were sold out so never got to see one. All of this was within in 30 mins of getting on the ship at 11am Our rear facing balcony was unusable as it was covered in diesel crap every morning. So much for a nice breakfast on the Balcony.Reallllllllllly NCl The one highlight was we met three wonderful crew. Orest in the Observation lounge was a delight.Since we ate in Savor every night we were Blessed to meet Jose’ as our server and asked for him every meal.NCL should have him train others. And not least was Rowena in the Mixx bar between Savor and Taste was very nice and always had a smile no matter how busy she was. We have benn very fortunate to cruise more the 30 times and this was mostly very sad. Come on NCL I know you can do better. Larry F Read Less

This is the second NCL we have done. Last year we did the Epic and it was really fabulous! We did Haven both times and the difference was huge. The Bliss has an indoor pool in haven but it was still very cold and kids could stay in it for 5 minutes before jumping into the hot tub that had 15 other kids in it. Only one hot tub kids could use. In rainy windy times we would sneak up to the deck 16 years or older and let them use the hot tub as their own private pool. However last day at sea the closed all the hot tubs for maintenance? We complained and said why close them on a day at sea? Day 1 all restaurants, race track and laser tag booked. We complained and overheard them say an extra 1,000 people on board and they sold too many dining packages for incentives. Kids in boat were crying because some did not get a chance to race or laser tag. It was often closed because of weather anyways. We were able through haven to secure 1 race track per person and 1 laser tag. Haven amenities same dessert in observation lounge never changed once, who wants dessert at 3:00 with cocktails? Went to 15th floor to get food. Haven staff was ok, we tip at end of cruise, cocktail servers seemed only driven by tips to help you. Upcharged for a drinks in haven, same drinks we could get at maltings whiskey bar on beverage package. Haven restaurant was a joke- better food anywhere else in ship. Epic was much better- same menu too! The port times are rediciouus never enough time off the boat I have seen other cruise port times and much better. Bliss seems to have gotten the worst port spots as well. No expedited on board off board for haven guests. I think they did once in Victoria. Juneau it took 30mins in line to get back on ship. Security man closed the line and started to take pictures of the line saying it was a joke. Manhattan had the best staff! Faster service and best food. You should have those people in the Haven. The buffet was the same food over and over. Splash academy was ok- we used it once. My kids got to ride the slide on last day before Victoria when the weather was ok. This ship is not designed for Alaska weather and outdoor activity. The walk out boardwalk was rarely used as it was too cold. Epic in Europe was half the price and twice the fun. Bliss has some kinks to work out. All in all I would not recommend this cruise. Read Less
