I chose this cruise, because my daughter asked if we could do a family cruise with two separate families. The ship was half booked due to COVID. If this ship was 100 percent booked, it would have been miserable. My wife and I had prepaid for gratuites, drinks and community meals on deck 16, Taste, the Public, and one other spot. The other 'off plan' restaraunts on the ship basically served the ...
We chose this cruise as a small Celebration cruise to see Alaska for the 5th time after finally also we chose the Bliss as we have sailed with Norwegian they many global areas ! The Bliss being a new ship we thought WHY NOT !
Upon embarkation and our 1st meals we started to notice what is we suppose is to be Norwegian’s NEW Normal .
1. Lower quality Food , sub par, Low Grade Beef ...
We chose to cruise on the Bliss to Alaska mainly due to the newness of the ship, figuring it would have plenty of activities throughout the week. While the ship was beautiful and more modern than the typical (our stateroom bathroom was divine!), the activity schedule was sorely lacking. We’ve taken about 8 cruises so we aren’t new to cruising but previous cruises have been in warm water and on ...
The ship was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful overall. The food in the buffet was usually cold and bland, sometimes inedible. It was incredibly busy up there and difficult to find seating. Other complementary dining was fairly bland as well. The speciality restaurants were much better and if I cruised with NCL again I would only dine there. However, I don’t think that you ...
Disappointed in the lack of service in our stateroom, had to deep reminding the steward to empty trash, provide toilet paper, tissues and towels. Very disappointed in lack of space (seating) in the public areas like the Atrium and Observation deck. Also found that much of what we wanted to do was already booked on our first day. The cruise skipped going to Ketchikan due to weather, but no ...
My wife and I have done seven cruises and six of them with NCL. This was such a mixed cruise. One one hand, Alaska was amazing and the ship was great. It was nice, clean and the layout was great. The observation deck was really comfortable and even the Garden Cafe seemed to be upgraded and comfortable.
Glacier Bay (which is the primary reason for going) was well organized and the captain ...
We were supposed to go to Alaska in April on the Norwegian Joy. They cancelled our trip and offered us the same rate on another cruise. On our re-booked trip on the Norwegian Bliss, they cancelled our third port at Ketchikan, saying it was poor weather. This meant that we were at sea for 72 hours straight including the day in Glacier Bay. It was my first cruise, so I had a lot to learn, but in ...
The Alaskan cruise was always one of my ambitions. This cruise was coupled with a pre-cruise three night stay in Seattle, which we very much enjoyed. I cannot fault the organisation of embarkation and disembarkation - very good considering the number of people involved. The ship staff were always very friendly and helpful and the ship was always spotless. The main downside for me was its sheer ...
This cruise was a combination of Good/Excellent and Poor (with some neutral thrown in) - getting us to a "GOOD" rating. Have cruised with Norwegian exclusively for last 6 vacation – not sure about the next.
Excellent/Very Good
The staff - Save for a few miss-charges on the account and an inability to get us the water ordered, were great. Always well intended, very courteous, attentive and ...
We traveled with friends who had chosen this cruise before we decided to go. Embarkation was the easiest and fastest of any cruise we have been on. This was our 6th, 2nd on Norwegian, 1st to time to Alaska. The only entertainment we saw was Jersey Boys. It was a good show. Most of the entertainment was in small venues. Even the main theater was small in comparison to other ships we've been ...
