Well....I figured Holland was on the upper end of the cruise lines so we booked a 7 day to Alaska on the Eurodam. I gotta tell you, I go on cruises to enjoy the hell out of the food. This was a MAJOR disappointment! I will say that the "sit down" Dining Room food overall was pretty good, but we like to do the buffet mostly. We chose this cruise because our local AAA office hosted a Holland America‘s presentation. One of the benefits they claim of booking with Holland America was that they were the only ship that actually docked at port, without having to tender passengers to land. This was actually not true, many other cruise ships were able to dock without tendering their passengers.

This was my wife's and my brother/sister in law " Cruise of a Lifetime ". Started off fine. Staterooms clean and the cabin staff very nice. Now for the fun parts:
- LIDO so full, one could barely walk through. Food Service staff rude, close to being downright nasty. Same goes for bar staff on deck 9 stern. Terrible.

As someone with Celiac Disease (gluten), I can't begin to tell you my frustration levels for first 3 days. Confusion, lack of training, poor communication and largely indifferent.
The exact scenario someone who has Celiac wants to avoid. I sure was glad I was trapped on a cruise ship!
