Very clean ship, crew was great, the food was not good

Well....I figured Holland was on the upper end of the cruise lines so we booked a 7 day to Alaska on the Eurodam. I gotta tell you, I go on cruises to enjoy the hell out of the food. This was a MAJOR disappointment! I will say that the "sit down" Dining Room food overall was pretty good, but we like to do the buffet mostly. Holland (at least on this ship) has one of the crew "serving" ...

We chose this cruise because our local AAA office hosted a Holland America‘s presentation. One of the benefits they claim of booking with Holland America was that they were the only ship that actually docked at port, without having to tender passengers to land. This was actually not true, many other cruise ships were able to dock without tendering their passengers. My first negative experience ...

I had just sailed this exact ship with the exact itinerary 9 months earlier, and noticed quite a few changes for the worse. As expected, the price of cruise\ing has increased dramatically in a very short period of time, which I could sorta live with, if I was still given the same product as before. This was not the case. In the pay restaurants (Pinnacle) you are limited to just one appetizer ...

Here are the issues that occurred. We showed up for their fine dining and were told they did not have a reservation. I had the app on my phone as well and I could see the reservation at 6 pm on Friday, May 12, 2023. The staff did not offer to double check, call anyone or offer an alternative, We were not able to participate in that special event due to an error on Holland America’s ...

The cruise got off to a rocky start before we even embarked. Holland canceled the cruise we booked and put us on a different ship with a new departure date necessitating a change in our pre cruise stay and dining reservations. Soon after departing Seattle at the start of the cruise a passenger had a medical emergency which delayed arrival at our first port of call which resulted in a lot of ...

Holland America Ripped Us OFF! - Alaska Cruise -

This was my wife's and my brother/sister in law " Cruise of a Lifetime ". Started off fine. Staterooms clean and the cabin staff very nice. Now for the fun parts: - LIDO so full, one could barely walk through. Food Service staff rude, close to being downright nasty. Same goes for bar staff on deck 9 stern. Terrible. - Food - Marginal at best. Dining room dinner maybe 1/2 star ...

Holland American Alaskan cruise. Very disappointed. Have taken other cruises on Carnival, Norwegian etc.. but this was the first cruise we've ever taken that had no activities. No entertain to speak of. We spent three out of seven days sitting on the lido deck staring out the windows. There's nothing else to do!! We finally accept the fact that this was just a vessel/transportation place to sleep ...

As someone with Celiac Disease (gluten), I can't begin to tell you my frustration levels for first 3 days. Confusion, lack of training, poor communication and largely indifferent. The exact scenario someone who has Celiac wants to avoid. I sure was glad I was trapped on a cruise ship! If you have food allergies, be prepared that every day will be full of conflict and misinformation. Note, ...

We were with Our mom and dad on this cruise. Our rooms were nice but not The best. The staff was great. The service if we needed anything was great. The food was OK, just OK. They set times for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This included the buffet. If you wanted anything after the times you had to order off room service and that was limited. We watched one show and it was pretty good. The boat ...

Loved Alaska...Holland America not so much

I chose this particular cruise since it went to Sitka and not many other lines go there. My family and I have been on 13 other cruises on various lines. Our ages are from 60 to 27. This was our first cruise on Holland and our first to Alaska. Embarkation and disembarkation were a breeze. We had a signature suite and it was easily the nicest suite we have ever had. The ship itself was very classy; ...
