First time on Princess was so-so

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Crown Princess

We are a three person family with a toddler. We chose this cruise as part of a trip to Vancouver to see friends. Our cruising activities are limited by our kid, so we spend most of our cruises eating, walking around the ship, and enjoying some of the music activities. Day 1: we had lunch and dinner at the buffet. Both times it was okay - good staff, no wait time, but food was pretty mediocre. ...

I have mixed feelings about this cruise. I've only been on two cruises prior to this and both were with Carnival to the Bahamas. FIRST IMPRESSION - The port in Seattle was dirty. The check-in process was long, which is usually par for the course. When I finally got checked in and on board the ship I couldn't even go to my room because it wasn't ready. When my room was finally ready they ...

A bit of a Westerdam disappointment

Review for a Transpacific Cruise on Westerdam

We had sailed the Westerdam a couple of times before and felt that it was one of the best ships of a very good line. The ship itself is still very good indeed, so why were we disappointed? Alas, just about every staffer we encountered seemed unfamiliar with their job. Standing in line for the front desk, a staffer came out and asked who needed service, but obviously everyone did if they were in ...

Only a fair cruise.

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Crown Princess

Embarkation day went well. We got to the Seattle Pier 91 around noon. It took 15 minutes to board after going through security. At 1pm our cabin was ready and we were in an inside cabin a few doors from the very aft of the ship. The cabin layout is very good except for the shower. There is no plastic or glass door but only a plastic shower curtain and very worn out. We picked an inside cabin ...

Unbelievable access to Hubbard Glacier but not sold on Holland America

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

This was our 2nd cruise on Holland and 4th Alaska cruise. Last year we were on Royal Caribbean and were in and out of the glacier in an hour. This time we were there for several hours and got to within 1/3 of a mile of the glacier. Lost count of how many times the glacier calved in front of us. Weather for the cruised ranged from the roughest night I have ever had at sea the first night out to ...

THE SHIP - THE SPA - THE STAFF

This was our 2nd time on this exact ship and itinerary. We took it a 2nd time because we had a cruise credit which had to be used, and it was convenient for us. We really enjoyed the Dawes Glacier experience (turning that big ship around in the middle of a Fjord; no easy trick) as well as Zip-Lining Grizzly Falls and the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour! The OnBoard experience was a very ...

Downhill for NCL and the Sun

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Sun

I last sailed this ship 6 years ago. This is the first time since COVID that I have sailed on NCL, my 25th cruise total and I am Platinum status with them. My fav cruise line has really stopped customer first service. My checkin was 11am, no rooms ready till 3pm so the common areas were flooded, no room to sit, not enough bathrooms. Then the buffet is a bad flow causing hundreds of people to line ...

This story doesn’t match this ship

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

There is no BB King blues or Lincoln theater. There’s a rolling stone lounge and a billboard area. The world stage is pretty with truly locally choreographed entertainment. If you enjoy educational seminars along with a few sprinkled activities. If you are looking for quiet and bored. This is your cruise. We loved the thermal spa. The specialty steak house was a disaster as it took 2.5 hours and I ...

I was very disappointed because on our original route we were to have seen Sitka and was replace with Icy Straight Point! I don’t feel like that was an even trade! Excursions were rushed with little time to just visit individual towns beyond excursion time! I’m a coffee drinker and had to go downstairs in am to get my coffee! Coffee should always be in the room.No one likes to get dressed early to ...
