Downhill for NCL and the Sun

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Sun

I last sailed this ship 6 years ago. This is the first time since COVID that I have sailed on NCL, my 25th cruise total and I am Platinum status with them. My fav cruise line has really stopped customer first service. My checkin was 11am, no rooms ready till 3pm so the common areas were flooded, no room to sit, not enough bathrooms. Then the buffet is a bad flow causing hundreds of people to line ...

This was our first cruise and we had a fantastic time on this smaller ship. The ship was easy to navigate in my husbands manual wheelchair, with issues only happening a handful of times. I would suggest reservations for non-buffet restaurants for wheelchair users due to the limited space between the tables and chairs in most dining rooms. The downside to the dining rooms will be that you will ...

Great Alaskan Cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Spirit

The cruise was a very enjoyable trip for my husband and myself. Embarking and disembarking went smoothly and quickly. The muster station is now just a quick check-in. The ship was very clean in all the public areas and restrooms. My only complaint was the dirty windows of the ship. Our hard-working steward kept our cabin clean all week. There was only one outlet in our cabin. We brought along ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

We arrived an hour before our set 12PM check in time, but since we were in a Neptune Suite, I knew we had anytime priority access. Access to pier 91/92 was easy, not much traffic considering both Westerdam and the Discovery Princess were disembarking/embarking at the same time. Short line to drop off luggage, then made our way through security and then a super short face recognition check-in ...

Some pros. Some cons.

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Eurodam

We just got back from an 7-day Alaska cruise on the Eurodam. The service was impeccable. The food isn’t gourmet, but it’s quite good for mass produced fare. (Except the steaks at Pinnacle Grill were as tough as hockey pucks. ) We stayed in a verandah room with a balcony. There is plenty of room for storage. But the cabin is showing signs of wear (chipped furniture, moldy shower curtain, rusty ...

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

Our cruise to Alaska was very special and Celebrity did everything they could to make sure guests were well cared for. While other cruiselines are taking things away from the cruise experience, Celebrity seems to be finding ways to constantly improve and add to the guest experience. The food and service in the main diningroom as well as in the buffet was excellent. Also, the specialty ...

Covid

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

Beware, came on healthy, left with covid! Food was awful! They broke my luggage as well. Value of 250. Gave me a cheap bottle of champagne to compensate me. The food was so salty. Every time I ate it my feet and hands were swollen. Also went down to get medicine and I asked the nurse if there were people on board with covid and she said yes. I asked her to give me the symptoms of covid and ...

Post Covid Dilema

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Eurodam

My husband and I chose this Cruise because of family. From the reviews I have read recently. it seems that all the lines are having trouble post Covid. This was our first time on Holland America, and to be fair, the service was excellent even if short handed. The waiters and room staff worked very hard to please everyone. We found the food to be awful. Tasteless, overcooked, and mostly ...

Very clean ship, crew was great, the food was not good

Well....I figured Holland was on the upper end of the cruise lines so we booked a 7 day to Alaska on the Eurodam. I gotta tell you, I go on cruises to enjoy the hell out of the food. This was a MAJOR disappointment! I will say that the "sit down" Dining Room food overall was pretty good, but we like to do the buffet mostly. Holland (at least on this ship) has one of the crew "serving" ...

Best Friends and Trip of a Lifetime

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Sun

My best friend did the research and found the Sun for us. This was my first cruise so I enjoyed it if for no other reason than everything was new to me. My friend and I met in first grade and have been besties for 64 years. I loved the size of the ship and exploring all the different areas. I had always heard the food on cruise ships was delicious, but for the most part, that was not true on ...
