For starters I have cruised 5 times before the Infinity, but not for 12 years and my wife had only been on one 3 day Mexico cruise, we are in our early 50s. This review is going to be long so feel free to jump to the good parts first. We booked our cruise based on the time, cost, literary and the cruise line.
Since I had cruised on Celebrity before I knew I could count on the food being ...
We sailed out of Seattle on June 22, 2012 on Celebrity Infinity, on a 7 night cruise to Alaska with 4 port stopovers. It was our 40 th anniversary gift to ourselves, an " out of the box " adventure for 2 experienced city kids.
The ship and cruise line exceeded our expectations in every respect. The ship layout is well defined and organized. The food is excellent and varied from gourmet to ...
Just returned from Celebrity Infinity, cruised 6/22 - 6/29/12. Arrived in Seattle the night before (very late) so we stayed at the Fairfield (Marriott) by the airport. Free shuttle, came in 10 minutes and we used points. After breakfast we hopped on the Seattle Shuttle for $12.00 per person to get us to the pier. We arrived by 11:15 am, met our friends and completed the check in process very ...
Sailed Celebrity Infinity round trip Seattle - Tracy Arm Fjord - June 15 - 22, 2012. When we boarded (which seemed pretty organized) and finally were on board the ship, we passed a couple of crew members standing next to some Mimosas. They never offered any to us. I went up and asked if those were for us and then we were given some. What a send off! That should have been the tip off for me ...
Cruising is the greatest experience in the world! OK, so that's dramatic, but after the enjoyable time we had on the Celebrity Infinity, they really did their best to prove me right. I'll be hard pressed to find any con's in my list of pro's and con's, but I'll come up with something. To describe ourselves, we are both holding onto our 40's (tightly), have no children, and this was our 25th ...
So.....I'm just not sure about cruising.... After my Greek cruise....I said that I wasn't going to cruise again UNLESS: (1) I was cruising with really fun people and I didn't really care about where I was going, or (2) I was ok with just getting a 'taste' of where I was going and didn't care if I missed seeing the cities in depth....
In Greece.....I felt really 'ripped off' because I only got ...
Seattle - We arrived in Seattle 2 days early so that we could explore the city. Took Shuttle Express from airport to hotel for $33 for all of us. We stayed at LaQuinta Inn at 2224 8th Ave and loved it. Great free continental breakfast, very friendly staff. Whole Foods is around corner where we purchased soda to take on board ship. Hotel was also within walking distance to most attractions. ...
My Demographics
My wife and myself, about 40. Cruised to Alaska with Holland America, Mexican Riviera with Disney.
Pre-Cruise:
You can check in your luggage with the Port Authority Concierge at 8:30am for $3 a bag. This is the Port Authority and not the cruise line, so you will have to pick up your bags again to check them in with the cruise line. This service allows you to sight-see Pikes ...
May 11 cruise on Infinity.
BAD FIRST:
I wanted everyone to know it took us 1-1/2 hours to get on board. It took our son 2-1/2 hours. Shuttle people said this pier is really not suited for a quick embarkation. If you have a really nice room and special perks then you get in another line which is fast. This is our third time on Celebrity and we got no perks to get into a faster line. NO porters ...
This was the sixth cruise for me an the first time for my wife. This was the first time on Celebrity for myself. I will start with arrival in Seattle with some tips for people that they might find useful.
If you come into Seattle, especially downtown Seattle, to take a cruise or just visit, consider this:
Take the LightLink train from Sea-Tac to the Westlake Station. It costs $2.75 per ...
