Good and not so good

Review for Norwegian Encore to Alaska

Very pretty ship. Lots of bars and food options. Cabin was clean and modern with little to no wear and tear. Cabin 8742 is right above the theater and every night from 5pm to past midnight there is loud music from the on board entertainment. These are professional theater groups with the premium sound to go with them. It’s very noticeable and annoying after an hour or two. I would not recommend ...

10+ Cruises, this the worst

Review for Ovation of the Seas to Alaska

After months on the internet and days and hours on the phone with customer service could only reserve two shore excursions for the entire trip. We finally just gave up. Seniors beware, if you have hip, knee or back issues, not handicapped, you will have problems finding a seat in a public area to relax or read a book. There are thousands of lounge chairs about 1 foot off the ground but very ...

A wonderful vacation!

Review for Discovery Princess to Alaska

First Time Cruiser • Age 50s

I've always wanted to go to Alaska so I finally decided on a cruise so I could turn the big 50 in the biggest State. We visited Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka, and Victoria. I definitely recommend getting the shore excursions set up before you arrive because there is no telling what will be left to pick from when you get there. It was easy to get aboard and the entry / exit for each port was easy ...

6th NCL cruise, 1st to Alaska, 1st post COVID (hmmm, is it "post"?)

Review for Norwegian Bliss to Alaska

We took a 7 day Alaska cruise out of Seattle the week of Aug 6 on the NCL Bliss, our first since before COVID hit in 2019. What worked ================================================ A gorgeous new ship. We’ve taken 5 other NCL cruises on their mid-size ships (Spirit, Dawn, Star) but wanted to try a larger ship made for AK. The Observation deck is superb, built for cooler summer weather ...

Not our favorite but Norwegian is still our Go to

Review for Norwegian Sun to Alaska

To begin, we love Norwegian. They are great. This past trip was not. We chose this trip because entry requirements back into the US were still highly restricted at the time we picked it and since the ship would be leaving and returning in the US, it was easier. Also, the original itinerary had limited at sea days. Several itinerary changes later and we essentially spent every day on the ...

Royal does not live up to the hype or the cost

Review for Quantum of the Seas to Alaska

I had been on Princess, Carnival, and Norwegian before my first Royal trip. All I've ever heard was jokes about the class of passengers on the other lines, the quality of the ships, and a general snobbiness that RCI just doesn't live up to. Boarding in Seattle is like watching sheep get pushed through a narrow chute to go to slaughter. No organization whatsoever. No help from the terminal ...

Return to Alaska. Our Encore to Alaska!!

Review for Norwegian Encore to Alaska

This was our 2nd trip to Alaska on NCL (7th cruise on NCL in the last 7 years). The first time to Alaska was in 2015 with our 2 younger kids. This time, It was just me and the wife. We chose the Encore due to the similarities to the other NCL ships we have sailed (Joy, Escape, etc). The weather was beautiful and only rained one morning the entire time. Otherwise- it maintained 50-64 degrees ...

Discovery Princess- great experience!

We chose this cruise for the itinerary. two of my friends who went with me were brand new cruisers. I have been on the Grand, Star, Coral, Pacific, Sapphire, and Emerald. This ship has the nicest layout and space. Embarkation: Very smooth- ours went a bit quicker due to elite status. However, make sure you do all required paperwork prior to cruise. The Medallion app is a little tricky with ...

The "rusted" Crown

Review for Crown Princess to Alaska

Had somewhat chosen this cruise as a last minute adventure, as some much needed work was being done in our condo that made it required to find a quick and easy getaway. And we figured as we are top tier status with Princess (Elite/Platinum) we had high expectations as we had frequently travelled with Princess. But sadly we were very wrong, as the Crown Princess is in serious need of not only some ...

I can say amazing, but that word means so many things to people. Here's what it means to me and why this cruise was absolutely amazing for me: - surrounded by incredible views from anywhere on the ship. From watching whales on our balcony, otter seals swimming by that looked like they were waving, sunsets and majestic mountains and glaciers - it was like sailing in paradise. - outstanding ...
