Consistently inconsistent service

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Norwegian Bliss

This was our first cruise in twenty years and our first cruise on NCL. As we were celebrating our 40th anniversary we decided to splurge and book a Haven cabin and enjoy all of the benefits that go along with cruising in the Haven. Since this was a special occasion, we did book back to back weeks on the same ship with the second week also being in the Haven. In general, we liked the layout ...

Disappointing cruise experience.

I gave this cruise two stars based on: Alaska and Glacier Bay are breathtaking. Room steward was attentive. Dining room staff, specialty dining staff, and a couple bar tenders are well trained and seemed to enjoy their jobs. Purchased priority embarkation for $199 which included breakfast room service. The man that delivered our breakfast was pleasant and enjoyable. Teppanyaki had ...

I have mixed feelings about this cruise. I've only been on two cruises prior to this and both were with Carnival to the Bahamas. FIRST IMPRESSION - The port in Seattle was dirty. The check-in process was long, which is usually par for the course. When I finally got checked in and on board the ship I couldn't even go to my room because it wasn't ready. When my room was finally ready they ...

Ship needs more refreshing

Review for a Asia Cruise on Westerdam

Stay away from balcony room The bathroom stinks of mold and mildew. They have tried deep cleaning but I fear it’s under the bathtub and walls. Other cruisers say their room is fine so I guess I got stuck they need to take out tub and replace with shower. The mold caused allergies that made my entire 26 day cruise less pleasant. The dining room dinners were great but the lido buffet awful. The ...

A bit of a Westerdam disappointment

We had sailed the Westerdam a couple of times before and felt that it was one of the best ships of a very good line. The ship itself is still very good indeed, so why were we disappointed? Alas, just about every staffer we encountered seemed unfamiliar with their job. Standing in line for the front desk, a staffer came out and asked who needed service, but obviously everyone did if they were in ...

Embarkation day went well. We got to the Seattle Pier 91 around noon. It took 15 minutes to board after going through security. At 1pm our cabin was ready and we were in an inside cabin a few doors from the very aft of the ship. The cabin layout is very good except for the shower. There is no plastic or glass door but only a plastic shower curtain and very worn out. We picked an inside cabin ...

Not the quality I expected - poor service, lots of nickel and diming, be prepared to pay more than anticipated.

I chose this cruise as it was the only one that fit into my schedule. I did not realize that cruise ships now nickel and dime you on everything. The staff is not helpful when trying to book specialty restaurants. They can't recommend anything, they tell you to look at the menu and come back. I could not book specialty restaurants prior arriving on the ship, I tried, no specialty restaurant had ...

Never Again

This was our first and last cruise with Norwegian. Between the minimal entertainment, aggressive sales tactics, and limited free dining options, we were annoyed and bored most of the time. The ship is so crowded that it’s almost impossible to even find a seat in a public area. That goes for shore excursions as well. Even though we prepaid for the premium plus drink package, we were charged ...

My wife and I were on the September 29, 2023 Alaska sailing for the Ovation of the Seas which started in Seattle and ended in Vancouver. First time with RC as we have only done Carnival in the past. Wanted to see Alaska! State room nice with balcony. Ketchikan was canceled due to weather. Saw icy straits and Juneau. The food was so mediocre. But that was not all.. the Windjammer dining area was a free for all. No organization.. absolutely chaotic every meal. This whole shop lacked directiom and processes and that energy was ...
