We’ve spent the last year “comparing” luxury cruise lines, sailing in the Retreat on Celebrity several times (including the maiden voyage of the new Ascent) and testing out Regent’s brand new Seven Seas Grandeur . . . While we enjoyed them all, we believe our 2 voyages on Seabourn Ovation to be significantly better in almost every respect. The Ovation, launched in 2018, was the “oldest ship” we’ve ...
Top class in almost every respect. Our second Seabourn cruise and this one for 14 days. Public spaces still look classy ( perhaps not the Club which is dark) but our 5th deck cabin's carpet is looking past its best. It was kept immaculately. We could not fault food or service standards. Breakfast is a repeat affair but there's plenty of choice. We really enjoyed Earth and Ocean for dinner. Solis ...
We enjoyed our 7 day cruise on Ovation in the Caribbean. Seabourn is truly all inclusive. Most cabins on this ship are basically identical other than location (there are a few larger cabins but most are the same). There’s no reason to pay extra for on ship experiences other than the spa or the casino or shops. We paid for a cabana in the Retreat and for a special wine dinner, but for the $ ...
We chose Seabourn Ovation as we wanted a small ship, quality cruise without too much formality and found the perfect match with Seabourn. We have read some other recent reviews and are at a loss to understand some of the negative and insulting comments that have been made, certainly it was not a floating retirement home when we were on board, although granted it does have a higher proportion of ...
We have gone on many cruises over the years but mostly on the main stream ships (HAL, Royal, Celebrity, etc.). Last year we tried Azamara for the smaller ship experience and loved it. So this year we thought we’d try the more upscale luxury lines and see how they stack up and how we like them. So we started with Seabourn in March. We’re also going on Regent Seven Seas in June, Atlas Expedition in ...
Using numbered bullet points in no best order because they were all great, with simple honest direct words for you to determine my meaning this is my review.
Seabourn Ovation:
1. Pretty much all of the Crew were - Professional; polite, respectful and genuinely wanting you to have a safe, secure and ...
We were occasional cruisers (10+ cruises over the past 35 years), mostly on Royal Caribbean and Holland America. We had received marketing materials for Seabourn and always said “some day”. Then, with all the cruise ship horrors at the beginning of the pandemic, we weren’t sure we would ever feel comfortable cruising again. Fast forward to now, we decided the time was right to cruise, and we ...
We have had a great Covid free vacation thanks to Seabourn and their focus on their customers and staff. Although the ship was half full, all restaurants and entertainment were in full swing. We were able to go to all ports and enjoy ourselves in spite of all the protocols. The staff on board were excellent and genuinely happy to be cruising again. Favorite excursions were sailing in Saint Maarten ...
We chose this cruise to visit the islands in the Southern Caribbean, especially Grenada, and to experience Seabourn for the first time. The experience was terrific! There were about 200 guests on the Odyssey, which has a capacity of about 450. All guests and crew members were vaccinated and tested for COVID-19 and wore masks. Our veranda suite was attractive and beautifully maintained, as was the ...
We enjoyed a 2 week cruise on Seabourn's Odyssey in the caribbean based out of Barbados. In order to bring back customers after the fiasco on several cruise lines in March 2020, the cruise was in a bubble. All passengers and crew were fully vaccinated. We were all tested negative before entering Barbados. We all did a further negative test before boarding the ship. All excursions were in a ...
