Our first pandemic-era cruise. We have numerous past cruises with Seabourn, and this cruise experience ranks at the bottom.
First, why would a complete novice stewardess, someone who had four days of experience under her belt, be assigned to service a Penthouse Suite? Should not you most experienced personnel take care of your higher-paying guests? Bad enough we had to participate in her ...
Beautiful beaches great islands. We got upgraded to a penthouse (handicapped) but didn't bother us since it was bigger than the other suites. Almost the size of an owners suite and updated furniture ! The pre cruise and post cruise arrival and departure was through seabourn and without any issues. La samana in st martin and Fairmont Barbados both great properties! The downgrade for this trip is ...
First time on Seabourne. Its nice and upscale, yes. Only 400 pax what makes it special as expected. We expected a wonderful service and they disappointing on that. Friendly staff but less than average service. All week and never changed. Even a Royal Caribbean do better.
The Good: Fast and easy embarkation, beautiful ship, spacious suite, spacious bathroom, excellent food. Thomas Keller ...
We have been with Seabourn for many years. We have seen the level of service decline over the years. We used to be addressed as Mr Jones, but on quite a few occasions we were called “Dave” (I hate being called Dave).
Toiletries not being replenished, on two days we didn’t have any shower gel. We queried this with the stewardess and she said that they ran out.
The sky bar always closes far ...
We chose this cruise as we had so enjoyed a fantastic trip with Seabourn Quest in 2016. We wanted to skip a month of Winter and be spoilt whilst doing it.
To rate it 3 stars seems mean, but the trouble is parts of the cruise were 2 star and parts were 4, never did it achieve the 6 stars it clams to be!
Embarkation was a little shambolic, but it was Barbados, so we were not surprised. ...
First, a little background to put this review in context. We are in middle and late middle age, respectively, one retired and the other still in the workforce. We cruise often, are five star with Holland America Line ("HAL"), so that line is our point of comparison. HAL is a very good mid-tier cruise line while Seabourn bills itself as a "luxury' line. Thus, on Seabourn, with this smaller ship, we ...
As a long time Seabourn cruiser (22+ since 1997), I was a bit disappointed with the many things that are no longer "Seabourn Style"...
No champagne waiting for you on a tray as you embark the ship.
No one beaming and saying "Welcome Home" as you board, recognizing you from a precious cruise, or greeting you after returning from an excursion other than security checking you in.
No check ...
My wife and I have over 100 nights on Seabourn. We got to experience the transition from small ships to the Odyssey class and subsequently, the departure of the older and smaller ships. We only travel on the luxury lines and are not big shore excursion customers
Our boarding and initial experience were as expected. Our Penthouse was clean and well appointed as previous ones were. The cabin ...
Check-in in Barbados was an indication of what was to come. there was just on member of staff on the quay side. No champagne or cold towels and certainly not the line of staff used in the advertising and this was 15 minutes after check in opened. I carried my hand luggage round to the ship and up the gangplank. I was not offered a glass of champagne until after I'd had my photo taken and handed ...
We chose this Seabourn cruise (actually, three sequential cruises) on Odyssey because our previous experiences with Seabourn have been excellent. As Diamond members, we have been aboard a Seabourn ship for over 200 nights.
We noted last fall aboard Sojourn that there had been cuts in dining options and in service. For example, two persons previously came in to clean suites. Now that there's ...
