Two solid reasons to avoid Seabourn

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Quest

First a general word of caution: Seabourn have announced that they will focus on their expedition business, and they have started selling off their ocean going ships one at a time. The Odyssey has already been sold to leave Seabourn in August 2024. My wife and I sailed on Seabourn Legend a few months before it was handed over to Windstar in 2015. All experienced staff had left the ship and ...

Very Unsatisfactory Experience

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Encore

This was our first experience on Seabourn. We selected the cruise based on the itinerary that included Petra Jordan. Our cabin and cabin attendants were wonderful. The food in most of the restaurants was mediocre and bland n terms of flavors. Each restaurant has many choices which change daily so there is a great variety of food in each restaurant. It didn't matter which restaurant we ...

Traumatic, Dangerous and horrible experience with Seabourn

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Seabourn Quest

"Seabourn clearly do not prioritize guests' interests, needs, health or safety." "Rotten food, serious service issues, and a dangerous cruise overall" I would sail with just about any cruise line rather than Seabourn in the future. They claim to be "ultra-luxury" but proved to be our worst cruise experience ever! We are long-time experienced cruise guests having completed 30+ cruises over the ...

Carnival Minus Experience, 6 Star Prices

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

User Avatar

Carnival service, 5 star prices First the good things, the cabin was very good, a veranda suite. The staff were mostly very nice, but they are lions led by donkeys. Now for the bad. The food for the money was deplorable. On second thoughts, not just for the money, it was just awful. I have had the dubious pleasure of sailing on Royal Caribbean at about a quarter of the price and the food ...

Paid for Seabourn, but this was not Seabourn

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

At one of those treacly self-congratulatory events the ship hosts for its loyal repeat customers, the cruise director raised her glass of champagne for a toast. Hardly anyone in the room raised theirs. Not because they were rude. They did not have drinks. They’d been seated for more than half an hour, and had yet to be served anything. This pretty much sums up our trip. The Seabourn leaders ...

Not ready for prime time

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seabourn Ovation

User Avatar

We chose this cruise because it was transatlantic and had few ports (2) before arrival in Portugal. Due to Covid we were craving a get away but safely considering infection control etc.. We have a long history with the incredible staff and ships of Seabourn. But in today's environment you must be cautious. We purchased, as we usually do, one of the most expensive suites aboard this ship and ...

Rules changed after day 1 on the transatlantic crossing, despite being informed it would not.

We, along with others, checked on the website, various places, all pages said the same, and on the telephone (often more than once for many guests) before booking and sailing, that masks would not be mandatory. We also asked 'under what circumstances might this change' on the telephone and we gave various examples, every time we were informed 'it will not change'. We are medical doctors and like ...

horrific experience

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Seabourn Ovation

User Avatar

2-5 Cruises • Age 70s

ship was changed from Sojourn to Ovation (slightly larger) and it was impressed on me that I must read the T & Cs - which I did. Seabourn, unknown to me when I went on board, already had Covid cases on board and which spread rapidly round crew, staff and guests. Isolation seemed chaotic and safety measures were lax - I was passed in corridors by staff exiting Covid cabins in full PPE and not ...

Covid outbreak on Seanourn Ovation

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Ovation

Seabourn Covid

Currently on Seabourn Ovation and covid outbreak. My husband - double jabbed -pcr and lat flow negative before boarding is positive - along with many others. I’m confined to my cabin. First thing we were told to do was we did not need masks despite the ship having previously visited Mykonos and there reportedly being at least one case of covid on board. Funnily enough the Captain has a new ...

Sorry Seabourn: You Blew It

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Seabourn Sojourn

User Avatar

We have just finished our "Capetown to Singapore" part of the Sojourn World Cruise. BACKGROUND My wife and I used to be died-in-the-wool Seabourn fans and have Diamond (250+ days) status. We loved the experience. That all fell apart on a cruise in 2016 when they were introducing Thomas Keller (but before they had the separate TK Grill). The quality and variety of food dropped so bad that we ...
