On 17th March 2024 we went on a 14 day Caribbean cruise with Seabourn on Ovation. This review reflects our experience on this new ship. We have previously had two 14 day Caribbean cruises on Seabourn Odyssey. This has greatly affected our views about the new ship and may differ greatly from someone’s views taking their first Seabourn trip.
We have previously been extremely impressed with the ...
After 4 previous sailings on Celebrity, we wanted to experience "ultra luxury cruising." We are an active couple in our early 70's and often felt that the bulk of activities on board were geared to elderly people preferring a slower pace or being content to read books, play mahjong, bridge and participate in trivia tournaments. The Seabourn Square was an incredibly sleepy area (like being in a ...
We're an active, mid-forties, couple who enjoy the freedom to holiday how we want. Seabourn is a significant misfit for people like us.
First of all, there were no people like us on the boat. In five days, we think we at least saw everybody once. There was one other couple our age and they were feeling the same as we did, like misfits. The average age of this cruise couldn't have been less ...
My husband & I have over 300 days on Seabourn and lots of wonderful memories. This cruise was not one of them.
From Embarkation to Disembarkation it was certainly not a 6 Star experience. Embarkation was a joke totally disorganized. We were originally given a 4pm time and got that changed to 12.30. The hall was packed at 12.15 - at least 3/4 of the guests were there waiting.
The service ...
Beautiful beaches great islands. We got upgraded to a penthouse (handicapped) but didn't bother us since it was bigger than the other suites. Almost the size of an owners suite and updated furniture ! The pre cruise and post cruise arrival and departure was through seabourn and without any issues. La samana in st martin and Fairmont Barbados both great properties! The downgrade for this trip is ...
First time on Seabourne. Its nice and upscale, yes. Only 400 pax what makes it special as expected. We expected a wonderful service and they disappointing on that. Friendly staff but less than average service. All week and never changed. Even a Royal Caribbean do better.
The Good: Fast and easy embarkation, beautiful ship, spacious suite, spacious bathroom, excellent food. Thomas Keller ...
We have been with Seabourn for many years. We have seen the level of service decline over the years. We used to be addressed as Mr Jones, but on quite a few occasions we were called “Dave” (I hate being called Dave).
Toiletries not being replenished, on two days we didn’t have any shower gel. We queried this with the stewardess and she said that they ran out.
The sky bar always closes far ...
Chose this cruise because the itinerary was all new to us and it hit some spots on our bucket list, including Giverny, D-Day beaches, Bayeux Tapestries, and Lisbon.
Embarkation was quick and easy. Had an early private excursion in Lisbon and getting off the ship was very fast.
For the first 24 hours, service in the Restaurant and Colonnade was slow and we got the impression that the servers ...
We chose this cruise as we had so enjoyed a fantastic trip with Seabourn Quest in 2016. We wanted to skip a month of Winter and be spoilt whilst doing it.
To rate it 3 stars seems mean, but the trouble is parts of the cruise were 2 star and parts were 4, never did it achieve the 6 stars it clams to be!
Embarkation was a little shambolic, but it was Barbados, so we were not surprised. ...
First, a little background to put this review in context. We are in middle and late middle age, respectively, one retired and the other still in the workforce. We cruise often, are five star with Holland America Line ("HAL"), so that line is our point of comparison. HAL is a very good mid-tier cruise line while Seabourn bills itself as a "luxury' line. Thus, on Seabourn, with this smaller ship, we ...
