Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Ovation

I cruise a variety of luxury lines, usually based on itinerary. Though I prefer somewhat longer cruises, as part of extended travel, I worked in this short Seabourn (SB) cruise relatively short-notice, to give SB another try after some disappointing experiences on the smaller ships. I was pleased with the improvements and efforts, and am happy I retried SB on the Ovation this year. Though the ...

We were looking for a luxury cruise which would visit Spain and France and would be no more than 14 days. Having sailed on Celebrity and Royal Caribbean with our children many years ago, we were looking for a smaller ship with the 'feel' of a Four Seasons resort. We found that Seabourn was a perfect fit for us. This was to be an 11 day cruise starting in Barcelona and ending in Monaco. The ...

Beware of the guaranteed cabin!

This was a fabulous cruise in so many ways , but our cabin allocation was very disappointing. We generally cruise with Silversea and assumed that all the verandah cabins on The Encore would as on Silversea, be of the same standard, simply differentiated by their position on the ship- we have always found this to be the case with Silversea. Unfortunately we were allocated cabiin 851. This ...

We sailed on Quest a few years ago and had a fabulous time. This time, things were just not the same. -About 3 days into the 11 day voyage, they varnished our balcony railings making it impossible to touch the railings until the last day of our voyage -The food was OK, not great. In The Restaurant, the service was hurried and the food was always lukewarm. The menu, while it DID vary, was ...

Great cruise but is it worth the money?

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Seabourn Encore

We have just returned from a Mediterranean cruise on the Encore. We liked the size of the Encore, the number of passengers, the crew, the space, etc. Most of the entertainment was good, although it does lean towards music from musicals and dancing from "Strictly" - neither of which are our cup of tea. It was a shame to have an award winning soprano on board throughout the cruise who never ...

Travelled several times with Seabourn, previously the smaller ships which have now gone and the last time on the Quest. The feeling amongst other Seabourners was that the larger the ship the less the service atmosphere and attention. There is occasionally evidence of lack of joined up thinking, the pre-cruise itinerary is very detailed but there is one in your suite, not pointed out specifically, ...

We liked our previous Seabourn cruise and wanted to go on their newest ship. Embarkation went smoothly due in part to using the smaller World Trade Centre terminal. Enjoyed lunch in the Collinade until our suite was ready. Pleasantly surprised on entering the suite to see that our special beverage requests were there and the our lady responsible for the suite available for a full tour. There were ...

This was my fourth Seabourn (SB) cruise, and DH’s second, with one prior on the Quest summer 2016 we both shared. We have done a dozen cruises on luxury lines, so the review below compares this cruise with prior experiences, and provides some guidance for newbies contemplating taking a SB cruise for the first time. We also did a detailed semi-live blog during the cruise, with photos, on the ...

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Seabourn Odyssey

We usually do Transatlantic cruises for the long uninterrupted days. Seabourn on past cruises shines above the others for making the crossing fun and exceptional. This cruise did not start that way but midway morphed into a different ship. I believe the reason was many of the guests had done this before and found that the service and attention at the beginning of the cruise did not meet their ...

Terrific Transatlantic

Our second Seabourn cruise and our first Transatlantic. We are experienced cruisers on all the top lines and while none of them are perfect we've decided that Seabourn is our favourite. It's just has the right "feel" in terms of the ship, the dining options, the facilities, the entertainment and most importantly, the crew and our fellow passengers. Suite - comfortable, well appointed and very ...
