This was a lovely cruise experience overall. We were fortunate to have sailed on the Encore last year and so can offer a comparison. Briefly, we found that while still very good, there were a couple of areas where things were not quite as good as on our previous cruise. There seemed to be a greater number of new staff who clearly were getting up to speed with their jobs. They were doing there best ...
We have previously cruised with Regent and decided to try another top notch cruise line that was all inclusive (mostly).
We traveled from Auckland, New Zealand on February 4, 2018 to Sydney, Australia, ending on February 22, 2018. Our accommodations was similar to our experience on Regent. We had a nice sized balcony room with a walk in closet and large bathroom.
Unlike Regent the ...
This cruise was the February Auckland to Sydney on Encore.
It was our second cruise having taken the Singapore to Hong Kong last year.
Cabin, service, food and alcohol were excellent but the same crucial niggles. Internet! In this day and age and for the money we are paying internet should be included and fast. We felt like school kids on port stops, dashing to the nearest library or ...
we chose this cruise because we did not want to drive australia and new zealand but still wanted to see both countries first hand. the ship is not even one year old and is deluxe. we arrived in sydney 3 days early and did our own exploration. the food was very good and the service was usually but NOT ALWAYS, responsive. breakfast was a challenge to get FAST service and especially hot coffee (a ...
We cruised from Singapore to Sydney to experience the ship rather than the Itinerary as we had sailed this section 3 years ago on the Odyssey. Overall the ship was not of the highest standard possible. There were a number of rust spots on some of the pipes above our balcony which had left a stain on the balcony wall. This stain remained the entire cruise.
One of the emergency exit signs fell ...
This was our second Seabourn cruise, the first on the Quest. We had a blast on our Sojourn cruise and happily checked off another bucket list with this cruise around the UK and Ireland.
I'm surprised to have read some recent reviews about the food. We eat out all the time at home at some very nice restaurants, and have high expectations for our food. We have learned to temper those expectations ...
Having taken two earlier cruises with Seabourn, on the Odyssey and the Sojourn, we were excited to sail on the cruise line's latest ship, the 600 passenger Encore. Overall, the experience was great, the crew as always was friendly and attentive, though we did have some issues with service that we attributed to this being a new ship and new crew.

One of our concerns in moving from ...
We chose this cruise as we had always wanted to see Australia and New Zealand and this seemed the ideal opportunity to do so on board the new Seabourn flagship, Encore.
The embarkation process was very efficient and first impressions of her were very positive. The public areas, the dining rooms and bars and the facilities on board looked great.
However, and this is a big one, there is NO ...
Having sailed on Seabourn 3 prior times , on the Seabourn Legend(200 passengers) and twice on Quest and Oydessey( 400 passengers) , we were hoping for the same level of service on the Encore (586 passengers on our cruise). Unfortunately, the service level was below expectations as compared to previous cruises. Not sure if understaffed, but definitely inexperienced staff abound. There were about 6 ...
I had an enjoyable Cruise from Athens to Sydney. Personnel outstanding, Food of a higher Level than thought. Wines of very good quality, but offered at higher temperatures than would be appropriate, a pity. This new ship has somme deficiencies:
No teak decks on Verandas, in tropic climate with sun, it is impossible to stand barefoot on your terrace, too hot! Plastic! Also on Deck 7 forward area ...
