First Time Cruiser

I'm 56, my wife is 48, and this was our first "cruise" together, though we did a transAtlantic crossing on the QM2 in 2006. We chose the Princess "Mediterranean Adventurer" for the itinerary, which included Gibraltar, Rome, and Naples, all of which were on our "must-see" list. Embarkation in Southampton was difficult, but well handled by Princess. The problem was that the Sea Princess had ...

Embarkation was smooth as we used the motor coach through Princess which brought us to the ship from the airport and back from the ship to the airport at the conclusion of the cruise. Cost was $150. Cabin was oceanview variety. It was slightly small but quite adequate. Did not get a balcony since I knew it would be a fairly cool cruise and utilization of the balcony may be minimal. TV could have ...

This was our first trip "across the pond" and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We are a couple late 40s/50s from the U.S. We flew Virgin Atlantic two days before the cruise start arriving at Gatwick the day before the cruise. Flight over was excellent in Premium Economy. We took the train from Gatwick to Southampton and walked from the train station to the Novotel Hotel in Southampton. We arrived about ...

Just returned from the Sea Princess (12th - 26th January) this being our first venture into cruising. We had a great time and would certainly recommend it. We very impressed with how well everything was organized e.g. Luggage transfer from airport to ship, tendering etc. We flew with Thomsonfly and were very happy with seats, legroom and service. We had a balcony cabin which we greatly enjoyed and ...

We are an active couple in our 50's and this was our 12th cruise, the first time on Princess. Most of our previous cruises have been on Holland America. This is probably the only cruise we will do on Princess. Maybe it was just this ship but Princess just doesn't compare with Holland America. Our trip started off in London and we got transfers to the ship from the Victoria Coach Station because we ...

Summary: Lovely ship! Service is what makes Princess so wonderful. Great vacation! Getting to see so many places in such a short time makes the cost worth it. What I liked best about the cruise: 1. Seeing so many picturesque and historically significant places - Favorites in order: Monte Carlo; Rome; Gibraltar; Majorca; Barcelona 2. Customer Service - Dining room staff was the greatest 3. ...

Review - Sea Princess Mediterranean Adventure 18 Aug - Sep 1 2007 My wife, Rosy, and my son, Luke aged 15, accompanied me on this cruise, our return to CP after a highly successful cruise in 2006. We opted for a different itinerary and cabin, but otherwise the trip was pretty much the same. Luckily we live only 50 miles from Southampton and our TA had arranged a taxi to and from the port. The ...

Just back from our third 'family' cruise with Princess and we are now very sad it is over - we loved it! Age range of our party was 12 to 79 years old. These are expensive holidays (after going on our first as a special treat and got 'hooked'), therefore we are on a tight budget and have to watch what we spend whilst on-board. This was our second cruise on the Sea Princess in the Med. It is easy ...

Our group of 9 people (ages 12 to 60) was made up of first time cruisers through to experienced (Princess Platinum.) We set off early for Southampton from the Midlands in England because of the recent floods that had caused travel chaos. We had a problem free journey arriving at the Mayflower Cruise Terminal at 10.30. Our bags were taken off us immediately and we joined a very short check in ...

BACKGROUND: We are an American couple in our late-40's/early 50's with a 14-year-old son, who have taken 29 cruises, of which 16 were on Princess. Princess is our preferred line, but we have also enjoyed cruises on Cunard, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Costa and Carnival, not to mention several lines that are no longer in business (Home Lines, the Italian Line, Incres, Sitmar...) In fact, we've ...
